The BBC are reporting that Newcastle have recalled 19 year-old midfielder Haris Vuckic from his loan at Cardiff City.
Haris Vuckic – recalled by Newcastle
His initial month’s loan deal was up last Saturday, and there was news that the loan would be extended to the end of the season, but it looks like that’s not going to happen now.
Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay is still hopeful Vuckic could return on loan and be at Cardiff through the end of the season.
But the Cardiff manager has confirmed today that Haris has returned to Newcastle after a one-month loan spell.
Speaking to the BBC manager this is what Malky Mackey said,
“He’s going to be involved in their game against Arsenal and then it will be re-assessed.” “It’s something we definitely want to happen. It’s something I know Haris wants to happen.”
“And I also know Alan Pardew, Newcastle manager wants it to happen as well.” “It will just be dependent on the health of his squad in the next few days.”
It looks like Alan is still to make a decision ion whether to recall the 19 year-old, who looked good when he came on in the last 15 minutes of the game at Bristol City, when it was 1-1, and Haris helped Cardiff City get a vital win.
It might just be me, but this lad looks complete class when he is on the ball.
The concern at Newcastle of course is that striker Peter Lovenkrands is out for the rest of the season, and Newcastle may decide they need Haris back to bolster the squad, and of course the Slovenian International has a good eye for goal.
It will be interesting to see if Haris is on the bench at the Emirates Stadium tonight, and we’d be a little surprised if he goes back to Cardiff – we need him on Tyneside for our run-in to the season.
Comments welcome.

Comment #2If Raylor is injured (could be using Twitter as a double bluff) then it makes even more sense to recall Vuckic.

Hehe, Pardew said in his last presser that tweeting “inside info” could be “expensive”. Then he and the press had a jolly good laugh.
I can’t remember what question led to him saying that tho.
But either Raylor has been told off, or he suddenly rememberd…

Comment #5Dannyo @4 – I always get the impression that Raylor is one of AP’s favourites – he might well have blotted his copybook with that one. Could be a double bluff but that would be extremely clever and if you were going to use that trick you would surely do it with one of the Dembas 🙂

Comment #6Unless hes come back earlier this week i wouldnt like to think pardews spent all week organizing the team, to bring vuckic into the team without any preparation, despite his quality

Comment #7Is the rumours about Raylor being injured true? I think we should go out all guns blazing, even if Raylor is fit we have to start with Santon at LB and HBA in the side somewhere, preferably on the left wing but Pards might have another view, for once I will stray from my 100% Pardite philosophy and say that I will be very disappointed if we line out 4-4-2 tonight.

Yeah, it could be a double bluff, but i don’t see the point with it. U bluff with players like HBA, Ba, Cisse, Tiote, Cabaye, etc. Not with Raylor, i’m sorry, but not with Raylor.
I reckon Raylor is one of APs good guys. AP is a man to reward players for their performances, and Raylor is this seasons best example of it. And seeing things like that might help give some players that extra bit of patience.
It have several benefits, the only downpart is that we could be able to field better players, imho.

Comment #10Bench duty again for the lad
Raylor being injured could open the door for Obertan though which is my prefered starter anyway. Guthrie or HBA in for Cisse (unfortunatly) and then ud have my starting 11 for tonight

Comment #11Interesting, I’d be suprised if he started, but we don’t know. Maybe Demba or Cisse havn’t been performing in training and Pardew is trying to find something different, who knows? New line up haha:
———————-Krul———————-
Simpson–Williamson–Collocini–Santon
HBA——Cabaye—–Tiote—–Gutierrez
——————–Vuckic———————
———————Cisse———————-
Lets smash it up a bit. HBA hasn’t played much on the right much, and hasn’t played much at all, Arsenal won’t have too much to revise on him and he gave a little taster of what might be to come last week. Vuckic to sit behind Cisse, again Demba will have been revised plenty having scored most of our goals so a little less from Vuckic and Cisse.

I’m inclined to agree with HBA on for Cisse, however, Ba does well in the link up role, so i could do a swap there too. Cisse is a bit less lanky in comparison to Ba, so could be better at latching on to HBA passes.
Dunno tho, i’m guessing, but i’m hoping for a 5 man midfield.

Never gonna happen!
This will happen though:
—————Krul————
Simmo-Willo-Colo-Santon
Raylor-Cabaye-Tioté-Jonas
———Shola-Ba————
I have been spot on for the starting line up, in the last 4 games in a row!
Shola because him and Ba has been much better together than Ba with Cissé! Lets be honest.. Cissé has not been playing well.. Though two goals in three games is class.. But.. Long balls is not Cissés style.. It´s Sholas style, and it will be long ball today!
We cannot outplay Arsenal on the floor..
If that should happen this line up should be considered:
—————Krul————
Simmo-Willo-Colo-Santon
————-Tioté————-
—–Cabaye—–Guthrie—-
Ben Arfa—–Ba——Jonas
If Raylor is indeed injured, we should see Ben Arfa on, but i think, Pardew will put Obertan on instead..
Think about it.. Ben Arfa and Cissé as subs! Massive impact they could have.
Anything can happen today.. We can get 3 points.. I have a good feeling..
But happy with 1 point, as it will keep us in for 4th spot.. And one more point gained vs Liverfool..

Comment #15And what a confidence booster it would be for Vuckic if he was called back to play against Arsenal at the Emirates. There’s dozens of combinations Alan Pardew has to pick from. HBA has to start for me, he’s said he’s been impressing in training, and all the fans are calling for it after last week.

Comment #16I like this lad, decent player.. As for whether he’ll play tonight I dunno, I think pards likes to play the old mind games like. With all the pressure on arsenal tonight I seriously believe we can go and win this one. They’ve played well for a few weeks now so I reakon they’ll have a little hiccup against an ambitious hungry toon. I’m even gonna say 2 nil to the toon

Aye can’t drop Ba and he is great as withdrawn striker but think HBA needs a try and Cisse could be brilliant coming off the bench when Arsenal are tired
Can’t ignore Guthrie getting in ahead of HBA though he has been more consistant and is comfortable holding on to the ball with short one twos

Comment #24Can someone send me a link to footage of anything Vuckic has done to warrant such glowing praise of his talent.
I’m sure I must have just missed it but I cant think of anything he has done that makes me think he is anywhere near ready for premiership football. The Liverpool away match he played behind Ba and was really poor, no pace, couldnt pass a ball that night.
Just feel that we get too carried away at any youngster that has a chance of coming through eg Brayson/Chopra etc
