You learn something every day – and some things you learn are more important than others – this is very important.
Demba Ba – with magic strawberry syrup – his elixir for scoring goals
The latest news on the Newcastle web-site is that Newcastle’s star striker Demba Ba just loves strawberry syrup.
Demba Ba has revealed one of his secrets, and it’s that he just loves drinking strawberry syrup, so Newcastle have been busily scouring the continent to get sufficient supplies for the Senegal striker.
After all, anybody who has 16 goals for Newcastle this season gets what he wants, and strawberry syrup has finally been put on the menu at the Newcastle club.
Phew – thank goodness for that.
The story on the web-site is that you add water to the syrup , and the club has had the Teisseire product shipped from the continent on a regular basis now, so we have to expect Demba Ba to start scoring again very shortly.
Maybe he can even get a hat-trick on Sunday at West Brom?.
It’s obviously vital to Newcastle’s strategy to keep our top striker scoring goals, and since Ba hasn’t scored now for three games, we may have to get even more syrup shipped over, and quickly too.
Demba had this to say about his strawberry syrup, which keeps him scoring:
“I love this stuff and I will definitely be buying a few bottles for myself now that I can get it in Newcastle.
“I normally ask my family to bring some over with them whenever they visit, because I drink it every single day. Now our supporters can try it for themselves and hopefully they will like it.”
Stuart Middlemiss is the Head of Retail at Newcastle United, and he has a very important job on his hands, to keep the syrup flowing to Demba Ba.
And the news is that owner Mike Ashley has instructed Stuart to spare no cost in getting those bottles of syrup to Ba, and the request has even increased in importance over the last few weeks, because Ba hasn’t scored for three games now.
It’s not exactly panic at Newcastle, but it’s getting there. 😀
The good news is that Stuart has finally tracked down where to get the fruity syrup, and after having the bottles sent over from the South of France, our Senegalese striker’s favourite is now on sale at the Club Store and in Shearer’s Bar.
And we believe the supplies are now enough for Ba to start scoring again – that’s a huge relief!
This is what Stuart Middlemiss said today on the Newcastle web-site:
“We’ve had a lot of fans getting in touch with us to ask if we knew where they could buy the syrup, so we began the task of finding some.”
“Eventually we managed to get our hands on a limited number of bottles from the manufacturer in France.”
“So now the supporters can come down and see if they like it as much as Demba does. If it goes down well, we’ll try to get hold of more!”
It’s OK fans being able to buy the Teisseire Strawberry Syrup at the Club Store and in Shearer’s Bar now, just as long as there’s enough for Demba Ba.
As we said, this news is more important than some of the other news reports today – much more important in fact.

Comment #42And we all know the couple of names that we will be losing refer to Alan Smith and Loverman for definite and Simmo, Guthers as possibilities, hardly enough to warrant the title of “selling club” would love it if we beat them to 6th 😉

Comment #43If we don’t keep Smith we will forever be a selling club in my view. Such a top talent must be kept at all costs

Comment #47Funny you should say that as at the same time Llambias goes into detail about Tiote, I also wouldn’t consider Smith or Loven as “names”!

Comment #50‘We’ll be losing one or two names this summer, but that’ll be regenerated back into the squad. For instance, Tiote has been with us a year and a half. He is out there. People know he’s a good player.
‘He’s proven in the Premier League, he’s not picking up as many yellow cards, he’s learning. How are we going to stop a big club from coming in for him? It’ll be very hard.’
‘How are we going to stop a big club from coming in for him? It’ll be very hard. One thing in our favour is that we now have a very good side and that might encourage the player to stay.
‘But if someone knocks on the door and says they want this or that money, the reality may be that we have to trade.’
(Full Llambias article)
notice I don’t give an opinion just passing on some facts into this debate. Maybe, like I said before, Lawro just remembers what was actually said by llambias.

Comment #51We all know it a good offer comes in for one of our players, they will likely be sold with a younger and cheaper replacement coming in. Will it be Krul and Tiote? Possibly. I’m pretty certain though that Lawro isn’t in the know about our coming and goings this summer

Comment #53Klatoon…I’m with you, an admirer of some of the tiote comments, not a commenter. Especially with Strawberry guidelines. We need NUFC786, i’m sure he’s up to the task.
On your side note, pretty sure I saw one recently.

Comment #54I’ve just heard that we are after a dutch defender, plays for FC groningen and has had a great season! he was almost called up for the dutch squad and is only 20. apparantly his agent will be at newcastle in the summer for ‘chats’ he is contracted till 2015 so it cud be just purely to see what kind of wages he is after.
if we do buy him he wont cum cheap

Comment #55Is Lawro in the know about anything NUFC? If he did,we’d be battling relegation not dreaming of Europe.
However when it comes to selling our top players, it’ll take major/silly bids.

Aye, it’s worrying, but true. It’s also realistic.
I’ll try to hang onto the words “One thing in our favour is that we now have a very good side and that might encourage the player to stay.”
So it doesn’t seem like we “want” the player to leave, if u know what i mean. I feel the media has twisted those sentences a bit tbh.
But if a big money move comes in, DL is just stating the facts tbh.

Comment #57It is somewhat refreshing to be able to finally believe something that comes out of DL’s mouth, we might not want to accept the fact that if big money comes in we may be forced to sell but I like the fact that he is big enough to come out and tell it like it is. The fans will not want to see any of our bigger players leave, and will be very upset if it is not for the big money that has been stated that it will take for them to move.

Slightly encouraging news, in a way. Fergy actually was injured for Norwich. It’s not good that he’s injured, but atleast a good reason for not playing.

Comment #80good bit of PR to sell a product in the club shops. Another revenue stream- good work big slim mike!
A bit off topic, i really liked the look of jonas as a full back. seems to have the engine for it in the prem but looked weak there for the argies.
santon and jonas offer a lot going forward from the back but lets face it jonas very rarely has delivered from wide areas over the years. we’ve got to pray for marveuax to come back as strong as before the injury and HBA to become more consistent.
re. earlier post about shola, did he not start vs man utd?
