Senegal Striker Struggling – But Only With English Language

On a day when Demba ba has been linked with top spending Chelsea, he has been interviewed and has talked about his Senegal striker partner, Papiss Cisse.

Newcastle’s Senegal twin strikers – Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse

Ba was born in the suburbs of Paris, and Cisse was born in Dakar, Senegal, so although they both play for Senegal now,  they have arrived there from different backgrounds.

Cisse has scored three goals in just five appearances for Newcastle, and the new number 9 is struggling, but only with the language, and what Alan Pardew is trying to tell him on the training pitch at Benton.

This is what Demba Ba said today:

“Cissé is just struggling with the language, he’s not struggling on the pitch,” “He’s taking some lessons and on the pitch he just goes with his quality and that he’s a great goalscorer.”

“I think for him it’s great having somebody from his country around, because every time he needs my help or my support I’m going to give it.”

“We didn’t play a lot in the national team together because it was either him or me,  so we need to learn from each other how we play and how we run,  and we’re just going to get better and better.”

“We don’t really need to particularly work at it, we talk a lot on the pitch and sometimes we have to explain to him the way we play in Newcastle, but he understands it very well and we don’t have big problems.”

“It’s very important we have a good understanding. I’m very happy for him because he’s had made such an impact since he came and I just hope he’s going to continue to get better.”

Demba Ba hasn’t scored since he scored at home to Aston Villa, but we think (we hope), we’ve cracked the reason why that’s the case.

It turns out Demba loves strawberry syrup and we revealed recently that he hasn’t been able to get enough of it.

The good news is that the powers that be at Newcastle have cracked that one, with no expense being spared, and Newcastle are now even selling strawberry syrup at the club shop at St. James’ Park.

Try it – and then see how many goals you can score in the next kick-around in the park. 😀

We are now looking forward to seeing Demba Ba start scoring goals again – starting at West Brom this Sunday afternoon.

And with both Liverpool and Chelsea losing winning leads in the last 15 minutes of their away games last night, and both ending up losing, Newcastle are now just 2 points behind Chelsea in 6th place,  and 5 points ahead of Liverpool who are 7th.

A win on Sunday at West Brom is what the Doctor ordered, and the lads can do it, if they can play anywhere near their best form.

Howay The Lads!!

Morning lads – Colo-Sus once again I like your team BUT I think Pardew will be cautious and only play one of the Dembas.
Ibiza – I noticed last night somebody using the name of ‘BLOBB FC’ – was that you hving a laugh?

That team looks sound to me. But this time, when he brings Shola on, take Demba off, give Cisse a boost and see how he links with Shola. I thought Cisse’s movement was brilliant last week, too good for the team at times. WBA’s home record is really poor by the way, 4 wins, 2 draws and 8 defeats. They have only scored 14 goals there also. No reason why we can’t go there and knock them over.

We have won 5 of our last 10 games, no reason why we can’t win 4 or 5 of our remaining ones. Roll on Sunday, how confident would we be for the Bindippers game if we win on Sunday? It’s my biggest wish (other than the mackem game) to send Dogleash packing with another defeat. HWTL

Colo, next seasons team will have Saylor in it. We are a far better side when he plays.

Careful Colo-Sus, I seen Pardew pick a team like that and some people here were giving out about him picking a predictable team! Playing our strongest players….how predictable!!ha

Give the whole team some strawberry syrup, even Tim! This game agains WBA will really be a tough one, and one we could win but IMHO I think we will choke. We need to change our way of playing and get out of the rut and start our passing game and catch them on the break. Its got all the ingredients of a great match and we need that win! If we can get into Europe, maybe the likes of Tiote and Ba will realise the grass is NOT greener elsewhere and be content to stay up here, hope so.

One of the things that annoyed the hell out of me last night after watching the Chelsea match wa that the presenter kept raving about how Liverpool had cut the gap and were gunning down Newcastle (this was all before they capitulated); there was no mention whatsoever of the fact that we we now only 2 point behind Chelsea with a real chance of getting into 5th place by the end of the weekend. It is just galling how little respect we are shown, as a neutral I would be loving the fact that someone has the chance to upset the status quo, that’s what football is all about.
