Alan Pardew is almost giving his starting team away against Liverpool on Sunday.
Cheick Tiote – Mr. T returns Sunday
Alan was interviewed today in his press conference for the Liverpool game, and he verified that both Ryan Taylor and Cheick Tiote have been back in training today.
This is what he said about the two important players for Newcastle:
“Ryan Taylor has come back to us today, which I am pleased about, and Cheick Tiote is back and roaring like a lion,”
“He is looking forward to the game and he will play.”
Tiote has missed the last two games with a thigh problem he picked up at the Emirates, and Taylor has missed the last three game, but is back again after recovering from his calf strain.
So it would appear that Alan is saying that Cheick will come in at defensive midfield, probably at the expense of Danny Guthrie, who will drop to the bench on Sunday.
We think that Ryan Taylor has a good chance of starting the game at left-back, and this could be a very strong side that Newcastle field against 7th placed Liverpool.
Newcastle skipper Fabricio Coloccini will miss this game with his hamstring injury, and Alan said that James Perch will come in at center-back, as the lad did so well in the second half at West Brom:
“He’s in good shape and he feels confident,” “He definitely won’t play in this game and will possibly miss Swansea but we have our fingers crossed for Bolton on Easter Monday. There’s a chance he could play in that game.”
Newcastle have 12 days off after the Bolton game, before we play Stoke City at home, so if there are any doubts about Colo at that time, he should not play against Bolton.
With Cheick and Ryan back in the starting eleven, this will be close to Newcastle’s strongest team, and only missing Fabricio and Steven Taylor, who of course is out for the rest of the season, but the local lad will be back in early July, fully fit and ready to go.
Comments welcome.

Comment #3I think revealing Tiote is back is good bit I hope it doesn’t have an adverse effect on Guthrie.
I hope that we play all 3 of our CM and I think Guthrie would do well in this game against Spearing. Guthrie is due a goal and reckon he’d be up for it against his old club!

Comment #4Do I call you “HE” or Beattie? Or are we going to go with Beetle? Personally I prefer the latter 🙂

I imagine if we got 4-3-3 it’ll be Jonas in the middle again.
Can’t imagine how sh!t it makes Guthrie feel though, especially after we played well and won 3-1.

Comment #6Beetle is the one I think we should go with 😛
Well it would be crazy not to play Guti, unless we go with a 4-3-3 with Tiote Cab and Guthers in the middle with Guti playing as LB. Now that would be an attacking lineup and then some!
Somehow I don’t think we will be playing that formation and a 4-4-2/4-54-1 is much more likely. I can see Tiote playing CDM, Cab and Guthers CM with Guti LW and HBA RW. What do you guys think?

I ‘m not the best when it comes to tactical formations,if Jonas is in the middle where then does Tiote fit in ?

Comment #9For me I’d like to see guti at LB. He was immense against Norwich and whilst was also immense against WBA I think he would be a better option than Raylor and that Tiote, Guthrie and Cabaye could run that midfield like a boss!
It’s all guess work but I don’t think Santon is 100% confident and I don’t think Raylor is 100% fit.

Assuming we play 4-3-3 again, which I know isn’t certain. Cabaye, Tiote & Jonas in the middle, Hatem, Ba & Cisse up top.

Dude I am sleeping!!! Haha if that was the case that we play a 4-5-1 we should play HBA on RW and Demba on the LW and Guti in the middle. I would be more comfortable with that wasn’t overly impressed with Guthrie’s performance against West Brom

Comment #12Evening Ruddy. Have you been picking on Indian?
Can’t see Tiote, Cabaye and Guthrie all starting tbh. Perch will in defence, who he normally likes to bring on towards the end when the CM / DM is looking tired, so can see one of them starting on the bench. I’d take a good guess that would be Guthrie. Shame for him (Trying to be genuine and not sarcastic)

Comment #15I wouldn’t say picking on Indian more robustly getting my point across. Perhaps too robustly. We have a chequered history and have never really seen eye to eye.
I do think Guthrie will be dropped with Guti in the middle, also have a sneaky suspicion that Raylor will be playing at LB

Ah,so you mean on the left side of the middle, that would be a very attack minded set up again which I’d like to see the more we attack them the less likely Willo will get the chance to try and dribble past six players in his final third.

Right lads this may sound a bit rich coming from me but I think I have some making up to do. Let’s not pick on Indian, instead of slating him for his controversial views we should be educating him in the OV way 😀
Indian mate, we got off on the wrong foot and I am profusely sorry for that. We both support NUFC as we all do and it is about time that, just like the club, we as fans move in the right direction too 😀

Comment #34If I should go by anything Pardew have said in the past, I don’t think we’ll go with a 4-4-2 since we thought that was too offensive against Spurs.
And since he like to field and unchanged side when we are winning, but gut feeling is we’ll go 4-3-3 against the ‘fools.
The question is who will he choose in the starting eleven. Again he likes to field an unchanged side when we’re winning, be then again he has his darlings 😉 lol
In by book, since Perch is going to partner Willo – knock on wood – I really hope Raylor won’t play LB. Worst case scenario for me would be a back 4 of:
Simmo _________ Perch ____ Willo _________ Raylor
Three out of four who need babysitting 🙁 dear lord lol.
As some posted earlier, Jonas has done well at LB and then Guthrie wouldn’t have to loose his place in midfield. Would probably be good for his confidence 🙂
What do you guys think?

Comment #37Whenever Indian or Beattie posts on this blog, the quality of the conversations sinks even further.
It’s not even about oppinons, they don’t care about football, they care about themselfes and seeing who’s head can grow bigger.
They’re no better than planb. They just have their own ways of spreading rot wherever they post.
And they are solely the reason for several great posters keeping away from the blog.
If u say you’re leaving the blog, the leave the flipping blog u lying, egotsistical blow up doll.
Indian i can usually ignore, Beattie is a whole other level of filth himself.
I’ll come back when they’ve gone to bed.
