Pardew’s Up And Down Against Liverpool – Sings Glad All Over

Alan Pardew has had an up and down success rate against Liverpool in his football career.

Alan Pardew – present day as Newcastle manager

As a player back in 1990 he scored the winning goal in injury time for Crystal Palace, in the 1990 FA Cup semi-final – just months after losing to Liverpool by a score of 9-0 at Anfield.

Here’s  video of that famous semi-final with Liverpool  in white, and everyone in short shorts and Crystal Palace get the winner in injury time through a certain Alan Pardew with a header – Peter Beardsley is in the Liverpool side.

Alan Pardew took West Ham to the final in 2006, and they were winning 3-2 against Liverpool in injury time before Steven Gerrard scored a fantastic equalizer in stoppage time and Liverpool went onto win that final, 3-1  on penalties.

Here’s Gerrard’s fantastic equalizer, and ti’s not the first time that Steven has saved Liverpool:

And Alan is going to love me for this – here’s that Crystal Palace team singing Dave Clark’s “Glad All Over”” with Alan on the couch on the left of the screen keeping the beat going:

This is what Alan Pardew told the local press today, about his experiences against Liverpool:

“I’ve been up and down with Liverpool over the years – 9-0, won a semi-final against perhaps the greatest team they put together, and then there was the Cup final, which we should’ve won.”

“I really hope we replicate that win in my first game. I’ve been to a couple of events this week on a social level, and you can tell there’s a buzz around the town.”  “I hope the Toon Army are in really good voice.”

“Perch and Williamson will  be the centre-halves. I’m not going to create any mystery. Tiote will play. We’ll go and attack the game.”

So with that statement by Alan at the end of his comment,  the starting eleven tomorrow could be as follows:

Krul
Simpson Perch Williamson Taylor (R) or Santon
Ben Arfa Tiote Cabaye Gutierrez (c)
Ba Cisse

That’s a good strong side, and an attacking one too, and we just have to hope that Ba, Cisse and Ben Arfa are in the same form they were last weekend,  when they demolished West Brom 3-0  in that first half.

Comments welcome.

    ____________Cabaye
    ___HBA_______________Ba___

Cheers for the link. Leftback looks pacey!!

A word about Dan Gosling. I am hoping and think he will come good. He just needs some game time and a run in the team. He needs some matches under his belt. He looked very lively and sharp in pre-season. I remember even Pardew praising his pre season. I think he should go out on loan next year for a season and we will see a different player when he returns. He is young so has time to learn. I think we should keep him.

Anyone recognise any of the players? I have had it on in the background, it was a good goal to make it 1-1 though.

    Also no problem lads

    3-2 to the toon tomorrow.
cisse, ben arfa and ba to get a goal each and kaut and suarez for liverfool.
I don’t mind being wrong as long as we get at least a point, but if we start with hba, ba,and cisse like we did against west brom then I think the scousers won’t be too confident .
admitadley our defence is suspect but so is there’s and I truely believe that newcastle have more going for them upfront than liverpool.

Thanks for the link Level 7. Good goal we scored before but the defending was a bit slack from us for the second goal we have conceded. Was it Dan Taylor who scored?

I like 4-3-3 because there are two lines of cover for the wings – Raylor, Jonas and Ba one side, and Simmo, Simmo, Tiote and Arfa on the other side.

Of course if they are playing through the middle we may have problems.

Will be very interesting to see if we revert back to 4-4-2 with Tiote or stick to 4-3-3

Many thanks for the Man Utd – Newcastle stream.
I do hope that sometime in the near future we get a live NUFCtv stream aswell so we can watch academy, reserve and first team matches via the homepage.

Newcastle under 2-1, but we’re dominating good.
And the trialist is a good one.

chelsea should spank villa whose manager is on course to relegate 2 teams in consecutive seasons.

Even if Tiote is back, I hope we keep it 4-3-3

Some quality in the academy, some good pass and move football. We just need to strengthen the reserves and add 3-4 players to the first team.

    Simples see!

Newcastle should make a NUFCTV channel like Man Utd and Chelsea have, ad imagine Virgin would buy the rights and they could sell it for like £5 per month

The games done mate, but ye, he seemed to be involved allot and liked going forward aswell, had a header on goal to.
Looked to be very comfy in the position and certainly did not look out of place.
Should probably had a run out at reserves level if u ask me, looked more than good enough for the U-18.

Btw, Saylor was on sky on Soccer AM this morning, some intersting inside info.
He reckons Gosling and Raylor are the slowest first teamers.
Gosling never looked slow to me lol, but then again, he’s kind of energetic in his play so it’s hard to see.
Obertan was the most skillfull, rated over HBA, but Saylor said Obertan lost the ball allot so HBA should really nick the win.

Som other fun stuff there too, but those mentioned stood out for me, slight shockers really 😛

Pick Villa vs Chelsea, if Chelski doesn’t win, it’ll give us yet another VERY good reason grab the win tomorrow.
I don’t care about hte scum, we’re done with them this season 😉

HBA doesn’t need a repertoire of fancy, ineffective tricks, which is what people usually mean by ‘skill’, his dribbling means he simply waltzes past 4/5 players with ease, which is what really matters.

I think we’ll play a diamond midfield again mate and go at Liverpool.
Pardew has said he’ll attack, and the way the diamond midfield worked last week, i think that’ll be the way we attack yet again.
