Ed’s used you’re green coverage Hatem!

Thanks for the Arfa goal on the other thread. Truly magic, so good to see him running riot. The medical team and management in general have done a super job at getting this talent back to his best. Well actually, this may not even be his best. Probably saving the true magic for some European adventure 🙂

For people to say Ba should be sold are mad. If Ba isn’t performing at his best or is unhappy at playing in the left then he should put up with it or at least be sub for when Cisse is tired/injured-NOT SOLD! Ba has got us into the great league position we find ourselves in now so show sum appreciation and respect.

Until we strengthen in the summer I am afraid 4-3-3 is our best formation and Ba is our only player than can play there for now. I hope he understands that any manager with half a brain knows you can’t leave a striker in red-hot form like Cisse out of the team, or change it around for his sake. I am sure Ba acknowledges this and Pardew will set him straight quietly.

What a season we’re having and we’re so close to Champions League that I can faintly hear that famous music.

    Watching West Ham v Birmigham 1-3 ..

“I’m forever blowing bubbles” is a really girly football song.

Cockney tarts. Hope they stay down.

Long, long time reader first time poster. Not the best of games but a great result, and what a goal.

Just thought I’d say hi to everyone, after over a year of reading I thought that I’d better join. Used to be quite an active member of bbc606 till its doom last season, I recognise a few user names on this site, hope that you guys are all enjoying the season.

Also would like to apologise for any typo’s as I tend to use my phone to read the site, that’s why I like Ed’s site, like 606 it is easy to read on my miniscule blackberry screen.

Hopefully I can get as involved in the banter on here as much as I was over there 😀

Hatem’s better than messi….They deserve too, hiring Fat Sam. Glad for Hughton, top bloke.

    @JP…from The Rock

Don’t think anyone wants him to be sold.
We just don’t need him becoming a prima-donna because Cisse is scoring and he isn’t.

We know he’s playing wider on the left and is less likely to score.
Ba needs to realise that the Geordie nation are well aware of his sacrifice.

Agreed. Demba Ba is equally as good as Papiss Demba Cisse in my opinion. We have won five games in a row, how can anyone suggest selling any players at this moment in time. Everything is going just awesome.

Hatem…I saw someone posted on one of the previous threads a little song towards Ba…went something like “stick your strawberry syrup”…

…that sort of stuff is just ridiculous. I don’t think JP is talking about those who have commented on Ba’s frustration etc, that is fair enough. But we need to support him, not make up stupid songs

Shearer…time will tell with regards to his attitude. Not sure we can take leaving West Ham as an example though. He joined there in Jan, played really well and they still got relegated. Did he really owe them anything? Can you expect him to play in the championship?

I don’t think that’s any reflection on him really, imo of course

lol it was a sweet song. 🙂

Ba needs to shake the manager’s hand and not disrespect him in front of 52,000 home fans. Surely you are not condoning that sort of behaviour in OV?

There’s just no pleasing some people!

I’m glad Ba’s getting pissed off at not getting goals. I’m also glad Pardew didn’t hesitate to take him off.

    (H) v Stoke
    (A) v Wigan
    (A) v Chelsea
    (H) v Man City
    (A) v Everton

It seems that we will probably need to win our next two games if we are to have a chance of qualifying for the Champions League, because how hard our last 3 are. Make no mistake, the last game of the season is going to be so tough, Everton are a very good side at the minute, one of the hardest to play against in the Premier League.

Not sure whether people who cant get to games appreciate this but simpson currently appears to have put on weight and lost interest, bizarrely, he needs dropping for Perch against Stoke, who seems to want to bleed for the club.

Another magic moment from Benny and a world class save from Krul have kept our march going, we need a break and i look forward to seeing Tiote and Guthrie back as the team is now lacking energy, Cabaye(who played canny) and Jonas looked Goosed.

Cisse is class and Shola is the best impact sub in the league, as for Ben Arfa, wouldnt swap him for Bale and how much is he supposed to be worth, exactly the boy is Gold pure and simple, seems to have lost a few pound and oh my god what a footballer. For me you can Stick your Ginola’s and Robert’s never worked for the shirt like this lad, absolute genius.

Santon and Fergy were canny second half as well, all in all crowd were patient and got their rewards, not many crowds clap their team off when they are drawing 0-0 at home against alleged dross, it happened today and it was enlightening, shows the class of our support.

Champions League were having a laugh………..

Excellent tactics I thought, no need to rush just ease it out. Not pretty but the table certainly is. Sign of a good team that, not play to top standard but to find the win.
Ba is showing some bad signs like, I hope he chills the fcuk out. I think his head has been turned

Hatem…Absolutely not. Ba shall receive his daffodil bashing later. In reality though, no, he shouldn’t be acting that way (I’ve not seen it, but from peoples comments I get a good idea). He’s part of the team and the team doing so well should be the priority. I also understand his frustration, he was the man, the talk of the toon and cisse and to some extent HBA have well and truly stolen the show. That would likely get the best of most people. My point was not that the behavior was correct, but perhaps the best way to deal with the situation would be to get behind him and not sing songs about him or get on his back and try and utilise a striker who has scored us 16 goals this season and is currently our top scorer and one of the main people we can thank for being so close to Europe.

Considering the amount people have slagged off our own players only to see them shine and then have a complete re-think about those players, I find it extremely short sighted people would go on about Ba. Just my opinion

    Demba Ba will rise again….
ALL top strikers have lean spells — Van Persie recently ??? Torres ????

He is playing a crucial role in our front three.
If he’s angry then fine he’s hungry and not complacent.
I rate Pardiola as a man manager and he will get him right – we are not talking Tevez the prima donna here.

Check…we’ve been known to not always be on the same side of discussion, but that was one good read 🙂

With Collo back, might not hurt to put Perch in at RB. Worst case scenario it will give Simmo something to think about
