Carroll Scores Winner – Newcastle in Europe

2:30 pm, Saturday, April 14th, 2012 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 218 Comments

In a great finish for Newcastle, in today’s FA Cup semi-final tie,  Andy Carroll headed the winner for Liverpool after 86 minutes to put Newcastle into Europe.

Andy Carroll scores winner against Everton today

Oh yes, I almost forgot,  and Liverpool reached the FA Cup final with their 2-1 win over Everton.

And over the 90 minutes Liverpool probably deserved to win the game although their defending at times was not good.

It hadn’t looked good for Liverpool in the first half , when Jamie Carragher had given away a terrible goal after just 23 minutes, when he dithered instead of thumping the ball away, and  Jelavic hit the ball into the back of the net, and Liverpool were 1-0 down at the half.

But Liverpool were a much improved side in the second half, although Andy Carroll missed an absolute sitter from just five yards out on 47 minutes, when he somehow headed the ball wide.

He used to score those when he wore the black and white stripes of his home town club Newcastle.

But then it was former Newcastle center-back Sylvain Distin who made a terrible mistake for Everton,  and his poor pass back was jumped on by Luiz Suarez, and he had the ball in the back of the net in a jiffy.

It was anybody’s game now, but then on 86 minutes, following a corner, it was that Geordie lad Andy Carroll,  who back-headed the ball into the back of the net, to see Liverpool into their second cup final this year, and it was Andy’s second goal this week.

But much more importantly, it means that 6th place in the league will qualify for Europe, and Newcastle are currently 12 points ahead of 7th placed Everton.

While it’s still technically possible for Everton to catch Newcastle,  we will go a long way to making that almost impossible,  with a win against Stoke next Saturday.

We need just 4 more points in our last 5 games to make 100% sure, but that also assumes Everton will win every one of their remaining games.

We’re in Europe next season – believe me – and it’s unbelievable.

Now let’s see if we can make it the Champions League!

Sad for Everton – good for us.

Funny that a Carroll goal should put us into Europe 🙂

  • 5 ~Perchinho the Pheonix~ // Apr 14, 2012 at 2:32 PM

Two ex Newcastle players still doing favours for the toon.
Distin giving the bindippers a free goal. Carroll getting lucky.

  • 6 ady // Apr 14, 2012 at 2:33 PM

after he missed the first chance i thought here we go that f****r wont score but he did thx to god 😛

  • 7 ~Perchinho the Pheonix~ // Apr 14, 2012 at 2:33 PM

Are we 100% gauranteed europe? Not even the slightest chance we won’t get it?

  • 8 check the toastie // Apr 14, 2012 at 2:34 PM

It is a bit bizarre that carroll has actually made sure we have qualified for europe, both in the fact he has been sh1t all year, the fact that we have built a complete team with his transfer money and now he scores a goal that has assured us of europa. What a guy.

  • 9 WWJBD // Apr 14, 2012 at 2:34 PM

Just like to point out we arent there just yet still need 4 points I think to make certain

  • 10 alkinou // Apr 14, 2012 at 2:35 PM

We have to secure 6th place and if Chelsea win the CL we might not be in Europe (not too sure the circumstances)

  • 11 ady // Apr 14, 2012 at 2:35 PM

after he missed that since i thought here we go that guy will never score a goal but he did and thx to god livepool won if it wasent for newcastle i would have sported everton lol

  • 12 t00ntime // Apr 14, 2012 at 2:35 PM

we are 12 points clear with 15 left to get. So if we win 1 match or everton lose 1 match (like against manure) we will be in europa 😉

  • 13 Thump // Apr 14, 2012 at 2:35 PM

He’s big, he’ll score, he’ll break you f’in jaw, Andy Carroll! Andy Carroll!

  • 14 Spuggy // Apr 14, 2012 at 2:36 PM

I can’t even express how much of a MASSIVE win that is to put us in Europe.

We will keep all our best players, buy some better ones, and live the dream. I really hope this fires Ashley us to spend some cash as he get’s a chance to really promote his brand. We may even get a really good stadium sponsor. I’m sure Virgin are loving it too!!!

Now the pressure is off, we can relax and play our football and have a shot at the Champions league!!!

  • 15 ~Perchinho the Pheonix~ // Apr 14, 2012 at 2:36 PM

    Come to think of it.

It was not 2 but 3 former Nufc players who pretty much gaurenteed us Europe tonight.

    Distin, Carroll and Bellamy.

Still puzzled on how Enrique didn’t start.

  • 16 ochytoon // Apr 14, 2012 at 2:37 PM

Barca will thump Chelski and I can’t see us dropping that many points in these last few games. Hope we get a good group, not some crappy Latvian team or something.

  • 23 Partizan // Apr 14, 2012 at 2:42 PM

Well well well…2 of our former players gave us a ticket to Europe,,,well at least Economy class, whether its gonna be Business its all up to us now.

I just hope Man City makes another slip so that will put end to their title hopes, that will make our job against them a lot easier.

  • 24 toonincheek // Apr 14, 2012 at 2:43 PM

If Chelsea win the CL, then the 4th in the league will NOT get CL, but Europa.

But 4th and 5th will get Europa and, if Chelsea win CL but are 4th/5th, then 6th gets Europa.

I think Europa for us is almost certain . . . .unless
    we get CL ! ! ! !

    Let’s go for it.

  • 25 geordie_boy89 // Apr 14, 2012 at 2:43 PM

if the toon win next game and everton fail to win europe is a cert!

Liverpool in Europa same as us atm but I think we’ll get 4th which will be CL. Chelsea winning it doesnt alter status and the wont beat Barca anyway 🙂

  • 30 achtoon // Apr 14, 2012 at 2:44 PM

  • 31 bambams // Apr 14, 2012 at 2:45 PM

  • 32 davybtoon // Apr 14, 2012 at 2:45 PM

Actually think havin Europa confirmed this early take pressure off us n we will get 4th

  • 33 Ryan2502 // Apr 14, 2012 at 2:45 PM

Sorry for the repost from the last thread.

Lads can someone just clarify something for me? We could need four more points before the end of the season to guarantee being in the Europa League, don’t we? I’m not being a negger, there’s no way we won’t get the points we need, but that is the situation isn’t it? Everton are 12 points behind us with 5 to play = 15 points to play for, so conceivably they could win all their games, and get the points, meaning we might need a few more points to guarantee it.

  • 34 Thump // Apr 14, 2012 at 2:45 PM

@Partizan: According to Google the Norwich game finished 6-1… to City. Not a slip up we need haha

  • 35 Burkey16 // Apr 14, 2012 at 2:46 PM

Everton lose 1 game and we tie a game and we clinch

  • 36 toon_dog // Apr 14, 2012 at 2:46 PM

Not sounding like a negger but let’s not bump our gums just yet it’s not mathematically done yet we could still finish 8th if disastrous things happen obviously hopefully not but les not count our chickens before they hatch.

  • 37 Thump // Apr 14, 2012 at 2:47 PM

@Ryan: Mathematically yeah, if we lose all our games and Everton win all of their games it’s definitely possible. Nobody is counting their chickens yet, it’s just about opening up fifth spot for us. It’s up to us to finish their (or higher) now.

  • 38 ochytoon // Apr 14, 2012 at 2:48 PM

Haha no problem although I’ll be sure to use you in the grammatically correct way next time.

  • 39 lee1892 // Apr 14, 2012 at 2:48 PM

  • 40 Ryan2502 // Apr 14, 2012 at 2:48 PM

    @ Thump

Thanks for that, mate. I thought that was the case, like I said I can’t see us not picking up another 4 points before the end of the season, the way we’re playing, and if Cisse keeps banging them in!

  • 41 lee1892 // Apr 14, 2012 at 2:49 PM

We still want to get atleast 5th as you dont have to bother with the qualifiers

  • 42 Dannyo // Apr 14, 2012 at 2:49 PM

    Europe, Europe, Europe.
MA sells Andy Carroll for £35 mill and little over a year later, the lad helps us into Europe.

    What a deal!

  • 43 ady // Apr 14, 2012 at 2:52 PM

we want CL and if we get in there that will be gr8 one we can get money from CL and two MA will give us money to buy better player and that will really push newcastle next season and CL means it will be easy for us to get good player 😛

  • 44 ~Perchinho the Pheonix~ // Apr 14, 2012 at 2:52 PM

i think i celebrated that andy carroll goal more then any he scored for us lol.

  • 49 Brutooon // Apr 14, 2012 at 2:55 PM

  • 50 toonarmyuk // Apr 14, 2012 at 2:56 PM

    To clarify:

Firstly, we need to ensure that the gap between us and Everton in 7th is mathematically secured (4 points) so if we win our next match and Everton draw then we are guaranteed at least 6th place. I think this is a done deal, even if the place isn’t mathematically secured by our next match. It will happen.

Secondly, if we finish in 6th we will be guaranteed Europe no matter the outcome of Chelsea’s wandering in the CL. The only difference is if Chelsea win the CL and finish outside the top 4. If that happens, it means the top three from the Prem League will also get CL, but 4th, 5th and 6th place will then go into the Europa.

Either way, aside from the worse ever possible run of results for us, and Everton winning all of their remaining league games, we’re in Europe next season!!

If we finish fourth (which would be absolutely unbelievable!!) we would need to rely on Chelsea not winning the CL (which they won’t!) to be assured of CL football next season. Would be the most amazing year EVER!!!

    THURSDAY NIGHT AT SJP ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • 62 Hatem's better than Messi // Apr 14, 2012 at 3:18 PM

Great for the fans, even better for our younger players, they’ll get more opportunities to start games.

We need Citeh to be out of the title race just before we play them … so they’ll be gutted.

A Chelsea win tomorrow means we’ll play them on the Wednesday before the FA Cup Final.
It will also be demoralising for an out of form Spurs team.

So I’m hoping for lots of red cards, extra-time and a Chelsea win.

  • 63 nufc786 // Apr 14, 2012 at 3:19 PM

us against chelsea is like a cup final no?

  • 64 Thump // Apr 14, 2012 at 3:19 PM

@toonarmyuk: Okay I get it but the second point is confusing the shite out of me – if we finish 6th we’re guaranteed Europe? The only reason 6th will open for us is if Chelsea wins the FA cup, surely?

  • 65 moonraker // Apr 14, 2012 at 3:20 PM

correction mate you ARE a neggar!

  • 66 ToonDownSouth // Apr 14, 2012 at 3:20 PM

Mate, 6th definitely gets Europe. It would have gone to the FA Cup runners up, however Liverpool, Spurs & Chelski are already in Europe.

    Europa League is still the back up plan though (;

  • 67 Spuggy // Apr 14, 2012 at 3:23 PM

Tevez hatrick lots of bizarre things happening today. 1-6.

  • 68 Spuggy // Apr 14, 2012 at 3:25 PM

  • 69 Paulo Martins // Apr 14, 2012 at 3:25 PM

I’m all excited, next Saturday will be my first visit to St. James Park, since I fan , and that is20 years.

    Paulo Martins

  • 70 NorseMag // Apr 14, 2012 at 3:26 PM

If Chelsea wins CL and ends 5th in PL, 4th & 6th in PL will get Europa League. No?

  • 71 ToonDownSouth // Apr 14, 2012 at 3:27 PM

Because if Chelsea finish 5th, then they’ll already be in Europe due to finishing 5th. So 6th place will get it.

If Chelsea finish 6th, then we’ll have finished 5th or 4th, so it’s irrelevant.

  • 72 obatoyou // Apr 14, 2012 at 3:27 PM

3 cases would still have got us in to Europe if Everton had won that game.

    1. Chelsea don’t win the champions league, finish 5th and beat Tottenham
Everton wouldn’t get in europe and we would get the spot
    2. Chelsea finish 5th, win the champions league, but lose to Tottenham in the FA cup, again Everton wouldn’t make Europe, Chelsea would have got the 4th Champions league place, pushing Tottenham to the Europa league.
The runner up in the FA cup only makes it in to the Europa League if the winner makes the champions league 🙂
(As it stands, we need 4 points from 5 games to guarantee Europa)

  • 73 moonraker // Apr 14, 2012 at 3:28 PM

    Man U – CL
    Man C – CL
    Arsenal- CL
    Spurs – CL (or us)
    NUFC – Europa
    Chelsea- Europa

plus Bindippers europa already qualified thro CC

  • 74 obatoyou // Apr 14, 2012 at 3:29 PM

(case 3 is tottenham finish 5th and beat chelsea)
    there’s my 2 cents.

  • 75 Korzic // Apr 14, 2012 at 3:32 PM

Liverpool’s win means that 6th place now gets a Europa spot. Whilst NUFC don’t have a top 6 place sewn up, If Everton drop points between now and the end of season, it’s a guarantee.

IN other news, City looked absolutely lethal against Norwich. Pity Tevez had to piss about for 95% of the season. Not looking forward to their visit any more. They’ve apparently rediscovered how to play away again.

I’d love to see us go at Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Pardew is always very concerned with not losing, but seeing as we’ve nothing to lose, it’d be good to see us absolutely go for it.

I agree on what you said, we have to thank our players and continue supporting them until the last minute of the season

  • 135 Beattie25 // Apr 14, 2012 at 5:14 PM

My sentiments exactly. I was hoping for Everton to win as this may be an excuse to take the foot of the old pedal. I don’t want the mentality of ‘oh well, a loss to Chelsea aint bad cos we’ve got Europa Leauge.’

I’m not worried about the players becoming complacent, I’m worried about the fans in the terraces.

Just because we may have cemented Europe doesn’t mean we shouldn’t treat every game as a cup final! We need to be the 12th man and push our team onto 4th.

I can guarentee spurs and Chelsea will drop points. Chelsea have got big games against local rivals and spurs are playing against those in a relegation battle! We could do this if it falls our way.

From now every game matters more than the one before and we can do well against Chelsea and Citeh. The way some talk on here it’s like it’s a forgone conclusion that we are going to ge beat in both those games! We are the same Newcastle that has given every team we have played this season with the exception of spurs and fulham away, a real go! What a load of shit it is I am reading today!

Europa leauge is more than any of us expected but less than we deserve! Let’s do this! HWTFL

You’re definitely right about the CL. I imagine we’d be a low seed in the Europa aswell, however we’d have the advantage of coming from a top league, so we wouldn’t be in the bottom pots.

  • 140 ToonDownSouth // Apr 14, 2012 at 5:22 PM

Spurs have got what looks an easy run in, but I fancy them to drop points away to QPR next weekend.

We’ve got four very very tough games – and Stoke isn’t exactly a walk in the park – so everyone will have to be up for it.

But being completely realistic, there’s no reason why we can’t win the last 5 games. Not saying I expect us to, but it’s perfectly plausable.

  • 141 Beattie25 // Apr 14, 2012 at 5:22 PM

And if one more person thanks Andy Carroll I’m going to snap and go back to my old ways!

That judas cnut left us for his 30 pieces of silver and disgraced the number 9 shirt, his boyhood club and the hallowed turf of st James park. Add to that he became a cheating cock end in the process by diving like a falling horse when rounded Krul.

He can take his pony tail and wife beating ways and become a hero for scoring 1 goal for the scum no 2, but never ever will I thank him for scoring for and against another team. While you lot are at it why not thank suarez and king kenny. Some of you make a mockery of this club.

The only irony is the fact that this blog swells with numbers when we are doing well. I understand the light hearted comments as I did chuckle, but those who really meant to thank big AC need to go back to supporting man ure.

oleg chelsea will still get it through 6th place but it will be through carling cup unless spurs won it and we got 4th in which case the go as 5th place would.
basically the way europa entries work is
    1. group stage via fa cup
    2. playoff which is given via 5th
    3. a qualification stage leading up to playoff for group stage which is given via carling cup

  • 161 Tsunki // Apr 14, 2012 at 6:10 PM

Leaving our club and putting £35m in to the transfer fund.
Leaving us so we could buy better players that work to a finer tactical system than just belting the ball up to your knuckle head.
Having a crap career after leaving the club that made your name, just so you could be very very rich instead of just very rich.
Scoring perhaps one of the most painful goals of your career, helping us to prove you and your mate Jose wrong.

And thank you for not coming back.

I’m not concerned at all about us taking the foot off the pedal after today. As far as I can see today just means we have absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain. We won’t go out trying not to be beaten to ensure Europa and instead we’ll be able to have a real go at the likes of Chelsea and City to see whether we can sneak into what would be an absolutely unbelievable 4th place. Today has taken the pressure off us completely!

So proud of the lads for everything they’ve done this season!

  • 168 mondziu // Apr 14, 2012 at 6:29 PM

While keeping my feet firmly on the ground, I wanted to clarify what WOULD await us in quals to the Champions League IF we get there, as many people asked about it.

We WOULD start in the Play-off round by the virtue of England having one of five best country coefficients. The play-off round winners go straight into the UCL group stage, while the losers drop directly to the group stage of Europa League.

As things stand at the moment in the tables of the best domestic leagues in Europe (bar the EPL, which would of course promote Spurs, but the assumption we beat them and Chelsea to 4th is the whole point of this), the 15 teams competing for 5 places in the group stage as non-champions of their domestic leagues would be:

Ten teams starting from Third qualifying round:

    CSKA Moscow 80.566
    Braga 63.002
    Dinamo Kiev 62.026
    Panathinaikos 50.920
    AZ Alkmaar 44.103

    Glasgow Rangers 43.728
    Fenerbahce 41.615
    Club Brugge 35.480
    Dinamo Bucuresti 13.264
    FC Nordsjaelland 8.005

The five winners of the Third round meet five teams from highest ranked leagues in the play-off round.

    Play-off round teams:
    Lille 38.835
    Lazio 29.996
    Newcastle United 16.757
    Malaga 16.465
    Borussia Moenchengladbach 14.903

HOWEVER, the seedings are based on CLUB, not COUNTRY coefficients. Moreover the Play-off round draws are made before the outcome of the Third round and are based on the assumption that the higher-ranked team win, so if the lower-ranked team win its Third round tie, it virtually uses the coefficient of the team they defeated.

This means, that as it stands now, none of the clubs from England, Spain, Germany, France or Italy would be seeded, so they cannot meet each other and it works exectly like they are all seeded. 🙂

There are still couple of games to go, though, and this can change easily with:
    Valencia 89.465
    Lyon 94.835
    Roma 69.496
    Schalke 77.903
still possible participants in the Play-off round.

And last, but not least, Newcastle aren’t even in the 4th spot yet, and may not be when the season ends, so we have to keep wining to keep this dream alive.

In a way I think Europa would be perfect for us next season, I think Champions League would be overtrading. That said the 30M+ would sure help in the summer transfer window so mixed feelings on that one – we also may never get this opportunity for a long time.

I’d be thrilled with Europa though, wow, a team that was recently promoted from the champions league!!

  • 171 ShieldsGeordie // Apr 14, 2012 at 6:38 PM

I think with all but securing Europe Pards will get a nice cheque for summer signings (15m+), and Simpson and Guthrie will sign contracts.

Why would we step off the gas now?

The team has worked it’s socks off all season not knowing where it would end, expectations were top half if I remember correctly so they could very well have taken their foot off the gas a long time ago, I have faith that the team will give their all over the last 5 games regardless of their position in the league as they have done all season, I get the feeling we will spring a couple more surprises yet too!!! We might not get 4th, might, but if we don’t you can guarantee our performances against both Chelsea and Man City will cement that we need to be taken very seriously next season, remember against spurs we had a weakened side and the scoreline flattered them, with HBA in his current form, the rest of the squad finding their stride at the right time and that little bit of luck we have been having lately I am quietly optimistic about that 4th spot, I see no reason according to current form and fixtures why we could not finish above Spurs and Chelsea.

@173 – No, that was Shepperd and we are pretty much at capacity. can’t expand East Stand because of the listed terrace houses behind, while expansion of the gallowgate is restricted by the fact it is above the metro line so there are weight restrictions. We could make The other two stands even bigger but that would lookridiculous seeing as they are already amongst the tallest stands in the country

    “Carroll fires Newcastle into Europe”

1-Carroll dived because he didn’t want to score verse is hometown club
2-He has two reasons for celebrating his game winning goal today..

  • 199 NotAGhostToon // Apr 14, 2012 at 7:51 PM

Mally, I’m not sure but less than halfway into the season i put £5 on us finishing in top 4 (think i also put the same on us winning the FA Cup but that didn’t happen) at 28/1 so i’ll get £140 back, double whammy if it comes off!

    @ Mally

I am Newcastle fan from Latvia and it was one of most memoriable days of my life when I had a chance to see Newcastle at my hometown 🙂

  • 202 mallyonthetoon // Apr 14, 2012 at 8:18 PM

Well at 100/1 i realy hope some of the fans will be taking some cash from the bookies in the next few weeks im not a betting man but im putting money on us picking up a cup next season

  • 203 nufc786 // Apr 14, 2012 at 8:19 PM

we need to run stoke ragged at sjp on sunday show tottenham that their nightmare is going to come true and leave chelsea choking in our dust

  • 204 shola score-a'goalie // Apr 14, 2012 at 8:32 PM

    aye mally,
I put a tenner on it back in june, also put a tenner on winning the league.
That one was slightly optimistic but at 2000/1 I couldn’t refuse!!!

  • 205 mindshaft // Apr 14, 2012 at 8:35 PM

I put a free 10 bet from SkyBet on toon reaching top 4 at 28/1 …. come on

Hope Liverpool get completely stuffed in the F.A Cup final, think we’ll finish above Chelsea anyway so don’t think we needed any help from those racist idiots

  • 206 ToonAndy // Apr 14, 2012 at 8:38 PM

Lads what about Bas Dost as a potential transfer target??… Plays for herenveen in the Dutch league… 22 years old… 25 goals in 29 appearances and has scored a hat trick tonight!! Looks like some player!

  • 207 Beattie25 // Apr 14, 2012 at 8:41 PM

I want spuds to win tomorrow, Chelsea to finish 6th and not get into Europe, spuds to win fa cup by thrashing the bin dippers 4-0, bin dippers to finish below everton, Kenny to get sacked, redknobb to be announced as England manager and this sends spuds into free fall, man ure to beat citeh in the derby clinching the league and then we win the next 5 getting into 4th as we go.

    What would the odds be?

  • 208 bobby jay // Apr 14, 2012 at 8:43 PM

There’s only one thing that can stop us qualifying for the Europa league next season and that’s qualifying for the champions league 🙂

  • 209 Beattie25 // Apr 14, 2012 at 8:45 PM

If we sign Bas Dost who would leave? I’d hope that he’d be a replacement for lovenkrands but I doubt that.

Think it’s gotta be a replacement for Ba but I hope it’s Best if it means selling someone.

We shall see. Tune in, July 1st 2012. It’s gonna be a bigger event than the dark knight rises.

@magpie. i was contemplating putting baines or gibbs at LB
but ive got the feel good factor about our boys atm. what would your epl 11 look like?
this would be my second team
sorry lads but its hard not to put in toon players

  • 211 tdt // Apr 14, 2012 at 8:49 PM

Just to clarify: provided the current top 6 are the top 6 at the end of the season, they all get Europe one way or another?

The only way that would change is if Everton make 6th?

Got my ticket for the Stoke game, hope we give them a drubbing! A win will really put the cat amongst the pigeons and make people take us seriously, considering we would then be 3 points ahead of spurs for a few hours at least!

  • 212 jakesome // Apr 14, 2012 at 8:51 PM

oh i forgot about silva….heis early season form was unreal

  • 214 Graeme // Apr 14, 2012 at 11:04 PM

    Beattie25 @ 135

Is it ok if we finish 4th (or even 3rd!!) and stick 2 fingers up to the lot of them??

Let the peasants worry about 5th & 6th – we have more important things to worry about!!!!!

  • 215 obatoyou // Apr 15, 2012 at 12:12 AM

Yeah, that’s right, Chelsea are in Europe unless Everton overtake them.

5th and 6th will be in the Europa League

there’s only one way this won’t happen, that’s if Chelsea win the champions league and finish 5th or 6th, then 4th and 6th will go Europa, or 4th and 5th.

  • 216 obatoyou // Apr 15, 2012 at 12:13 AM

Either way, Newcastle are going to Europe, when we get at least one point at stoke and man united beat everton in the next games, its confirmed.

  • 217 Garreth // Apr 15, 2012 at 6:55 AM

Us Newcastle fans all hoped that one day the headline would be “Carroll scores to send Newcastle to Europe”. It’s not quite the way we expected it to happen but we’ll take it nonetheless! Now let’s push for the CL!

  • 218 NEWEXPATMAGPIE // Apr 15, 2012 at 7:08 AM

The story on here about Krul is exactly what i meant with comments i made earlier yesterday on this blog!

Chelsea are reportedly lining up an offer for Krul!

15Mil is the amount mentioned !

I would not let him leave for anything less than 30Mil!

    ……………….Kiss my ass Chelsea!!!!!————-
