Demba Ba has been interviewed in the Newcastle program for today’s game, and the program is in 3D for the first time ever.
Demba Ba – after scoring at Stoke earlier this season
Demba Ba has scored 16 goals in the Premier League this season, but he has only one goal since returning from the African Cup of Nations in early February, so we have to hope he can get back on the goals trail today against Stoke City.
Ba told the official match-day program that the 3-1 win at Stoke back on Halloween day, was a great result for Newcastle, and of course the Senegal striker in that game got a terrific hat-trick:
“That was a good game and it was a very good win for the team, and I had a good game personally too, scoring three goals.” “It is not easy to beat Stoke and maybe that was when people started to realise that we were a good team and could do well this season.”
“Not many teams go to Stoke and win there, but we were very good on that night.” “Stoke are a very strong team and it will be a very tough game this Saturday, but as long as we play our own game, our own football, and don’t get caught up in what they are doing then we can win this game.”
“I just hope we are going to get three points again and pick up the win to keep our brilliant run going.” “Our home form is important.” “It has been brilliant, and if you want to be successful then you have to do well in front of your own fans.”
“We have done that, and if you look at the league table you can see where that has taken us.” “There is another home game to come on Saturday and we are expecting another win.”
“It is important to keep our form going like we have over the last couple of months. Our challenge now is to take our run of wins to six games. Getting six wins in a row would be great and we will give everything we have got to do that.”
Newcastle have lost only against Chelsea and West Bromwich Albion at home this season, and it will be important to get points on the board against Stoke this afternoon.
This is probably Newcastle’s easiest game of the five remaining games still to play, with games coming up against Wigan (a), Chelsea (a), Manchester City (h) and Everton (a).
And Alan Pardew yesterday said that he thought Ba still had a lot to offer the Newcastle side:
“I think he’s had a little shift in mood.” “I think he realises that he can offer us a lot more, and I think he will against Stoke.”
A win today and losses by both Tottenham and Chelsea could see Newcastle 3 points clear of Tottenham and in 4th place in the table, and we’d be five points clear of Chelsea, who would be in 6th place.
That would be something, and it would be great to see Ba get back on that goals trail.

Comment #9I’m not sure who I want to win the Arsenal v Chelsea game.
Do we look back or just look forwards?
We have two points on Chelsea and a Chelsea win would rattle Arsenal and bring them closer.
Perhaps a draw?

Well who wouldn’t want a bizarre looking english man past his best over a goal scoring striker coming into his prime?
Saying that I quite like Crouch haha
