For those of us watching the games on TV today, it could be very anxious and tense viewing.
An Arsenal win in that game would see Newcastle still two points clear of Chelsea, and a chance to go 5 points clear with a win in our game against Stoke this afternoon, which kicks off at 3:00 pm.
A draw in the London derby would also be good for Newcastle, because it would mean Arsenal are only 3 points above Newcastle, if we can win our game in hand on Arsenal, and we’d still be above Chelsea on points.
Newcastle, to a very large extent, have their future in their own hands (or maybe that should be feet), and there is a real chance of making the Champions League for next season.
After we’ve gone through the anxieties of the Newcastle game – there is the Tottenham game at QPR, which kicks off at 5:30 pm local time.
QPR have won their last two home games, and they are finding it hard to win away from Loftus Road, so this is a game they will be desperate to win.
We are desperate they win it too, but only becasue if Tottenham lose and we get at least a draw against Stoke, we will go above Sours in the league table tonight.
Maybe Joey Barton can get a goal for QPR, to help keep them up this season.
And then after the QPR vs Tottenham games, for those who are still up for it – there is the Barcelona vs Real Madrid game that kicks off at 7:00pm – so there is a 30 minute run over of the QPR vs Tottenham game.
What were they thinking when they scheduled these games? 😀
As we said earlier in the week, some of us will need a bucket and sponge handy – at least for the Premier League games, but if things go Newcastle’s way today, we could be clear in 4th place tonight.
Time for a couple of Newcastle Brown Ales at the local pub after the games- yes surely!
Howay The Lads!!
