Alan Pardew – Newcastle Players Deserve The Plaudits

It must be very pleasing for a manager like Alan Pardew to see his team give such an accomplished performance yesterday, when the pressure was really on our lads.

Yohan Cabaye – after scoring yesterday

And before we scored that first goal,  Newcastle maybe looked a little tentative in the build up, and the TV commentators were saying such daft things like the pressure was getting to the Newcastle players.

But then after two great goals in just four minutes, we didn’t hear them say that for the rest of the game, as Newcastle were quite easily the better side yesterday at St. James’ Park.

Alan Pardew has given a multitude of interviews since the game finished yesterday, and he will be in great demand after his side won their 6th game in a row:

“To win six on the trot is truly outstanding from the players, they’ll get a few plaudits this week and they deserve them.”  “We were accomplished yesterday.”

” I think it was one of those games where you really needed to focus because Stoke have got great players.”  “We did – we were focused from the start and when we got the first goal, which was a great bit of skill from Hatem and a fantastic header from Cisse.”

“It set us up.”  “We looked comfortable from that moment. We haven’t sent a message out, we’re just doing what we do.”  “Our work ethic was the same, it was our four-pronged attack that won us the game. That’s Hatem, Yohan, Demba and Papiss.”

“They really were in irrepressible form at times. That gives you a chance in games.”  “We now go to Wigan, who got a tough result on Saturday, that’s the next hurdle for us.”  “Cabaye was simply terrific. He scored two great goals but perhaps his pass was better than his goals,”

“I was on the sidelines and I didn’t even see that run. He’s having to manoeuvre the ball with players left, right and centre so to find that pass is exquisite.”  “It was a good finish by the way, but that will have to go down as one of the best passes I have seen at this stadium.”

It’s not beyond the realm of possibility that Newcastle can get their 7th win in a row at the DW Stadium next Saturday, but Newcastle will need to be ready to fight and scrap for every single ball.

That’s something the Spurs players didn’t show yesterday at  QPR, and they paid the penalty,  as the newly promoted side deserved their 3 points with a 1-0 victory.

Keeping the Newcastle players’ feet on the ground will be important for Alan Pardew over the next four games, but the lads will be trying to pick up as many points as possible in that final run-in to the season.

We will also need a number of players in top form in those games, if we are indeed to qualify for the Champions League for the first time since 2003.

Howay The Lads!!

    Niafron during the 1st half. Tiote hit a crossfield pass and Benny basically “killed the ball” under his foot instantly before laying it off to the overlapping Simpson. I hope you get a video link for it.

    Everything is tactical at Newcastle at the moment. That 5-0 defeat at Spurs was also tactical one. Look how that game has changed the seasons for Spurs and Newcastle?
    I think we r going 4 lig title nxt season.

    Gateshead-mag, luckily on my broadcast that was replayed. It was Palacios who brought him down and honestly i would too. The way he went round him was too embarassing 🙂

    What french press says about NUFC now, any new transfers transfers goosip? Thanks for your knowledge 🙂

    Hello there. You’ve not been around much lately! Are you enjoying the change in style of play?

    It’s all down to giving Hatem a roaming role, and playing Jonas in the middle, for me. They’re always making themselves available.

    It’s also interesting that since we stopped playing so defensively, we’ve stopped conceding goals (;

    Hoilett would be brilliant an would fit the team perfectly!

    Given that Guti is now a DM we need a LW and I can think of no better option than Hoilett.

    Young, on a free and bags of ability and potential.

    Benny and ober at RW
    Marv and Hoilett at LW

    Tasty

    Speaking of Beny, an excellent vid of his game against Bolton.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PyvUyBQKnE&feature=related

    There’s new angles of view of his goal, so you really feel the speed. I wonder if i already seen a player having such a ball control running so fast.

    @TDS

    Yes, i enjoy. Yesterday, it was playstation football.

    @Troleibusiukas_LTU

    1. Sincerly not much, cause following the ligue1, the PL and the spanish liga as well, i have no time for the french ligue2 and moreover, this is one of the most booring championship in Europe.

    2 Debuchy, maybe. But with Simmo staying, and Santon being much more a RB than a LB to me, i don’t see the interest ti buy him.
    And if he make a good Euro, he will not be Cheap.
    Mapou would be a fine recruit, but with Montpellier almost sure now to play the CPL, will be hard to sign him. Anyway for a reasonable price.

    3 Both of them are very good player, but personnaly, i would take Corgnet.

    The french press is now talking alot of Newcaslte, ans is particulary impressed. Most of the comments however concern Ben arfa. People wonder if he will go to the Euro or not.

    What are Hatems chances of going, do you think? Philippe Auclair said that the chances are low, because Blanc doesn’t watch any football outside France.

    I assume Cabaye is nailed on to be in the squad?

    “Given that Guti is a DM now”

    Haha, it’s so seemless but it’s come completely out of nowhere. A very very good tactical move though. One I wasn’t sure Pardew would have the balls to do 6 months ago, but fair play to him, I’d never have thought of it.

    Ed,
    Congrats on your five years of keeping this blog up and running despite your personal trials and tribulations. Honestly, I do feel that even players, even Mike himself may visit on the odd occasion, so popular this site has become. It would be interesting to see a group photo of all the bloggers: kids, grown ups, old geysers, professionals, drifters, international faces etc. all bound by a single unwavering passion. Keep up the good work! We’ll talk about our next game (and Ba’s goals!) in a few days.

    @TDS

    Cabaye is almost sure to be a starter.

    Concerning Beny, i don’t know. With all the respect i got for Philippe, i wonder if he’s not angry cause Blanc do not pick up Koscielny (Phil is one of the greatest gunners fans in the world).

    I don’t know if Blanc watch football outside of France, but the majority of his players are now in foreign championships.
    Benzema, Rami, Mexes, Cabaye, Ribery, Nasri…

    Moreover, Beny is now the main subject in France, as far as the national team is concerned, and the goals he scored are so spectaculars, than even without watchnig the games…

    For me the problem is different. Jean Pierre Bernes is Blanc’s agent.
    He’s alos the agent of Deschamps, a good friend of Blanc.

    And these two guys, Bernes and Dechamps, don’t want to see Beny in the french squad.

    In fact, there’s a strong faction against Beny in the french football. I don’t know how football work in England, but in France, this is almost a political activity.

    Yeah, I know. I was just going on the assumption that we won’t lose every game (;

    The City point is interesting actually. If Manchester United were to win when they play eachother, sealing the title, it may completely crush City. I have faith in us giving them a game whatever though. At home we look like we can take on anyone.

    What a fantastic season. We’re safely into Europe, and guarenteed a top 6 finish. Now we can have a good old go at CL. If we fail, it’s still a wonderful season.

    Currently16 points above Liverpool and 18 above Sunderland. Dreamland. How exciting are the last 4 games gonna be!

    I think yesterdays game was one of our best performances of the season because we played two holding midielders and let cabaye get forward to pull the strings, i for one would take diakite from QPR he was immense yesterday and has been since he joined them. Immagine this nxt season

    —————————–Krul———————————

    –Santon——-Taylor———(c)Collocini—–Pieters–

    ———————Tiote———Diakite———————

    —————————Cabaye——————————

    ———-HBA———————————-BA————
    —————————–Cisse——————————-

    Plus Diakite likes to get forward aswell. What u think

    I think Diakite has looked awful. Way out of his depth and he’s had at least 4 yellows and a red in his 7/8 matches. I’d take Diame if it was between those two.
