Newcastle Squad Being Fortified For Last Four Crucial Games

There are a number of players coming back from injury at Newcastle who are very keen to play in the four game run-in to what has been a fabulous season for Newcastle United.

Alan Pardew pointing the way forward at Newcastle

Both Gabriel Obertan and Sylvain Marveaux are available for the game at Wigan Athletic on Saturday,  and the good thing about this is that Newcastle will have a very strong bench in their last four games, and Alan can change things around during the game, if needed.

And Sammy Ameobi is also getting close to a return, as Alan Pardew had this to say to the local press today:

“We’ve had four or five come back.” “It’s almost like a cup final was around the corner when everybody’s suddenly fit.”

“At times, you just want to contribute. You might feel the injury still, but you want to be back.”

“We’re getting everyone back, and with another week’s training for Marveaux and Obertan they’ll be in the frame.”

Newcastle are getting lots of plaudits for the way they have performed this season, and other clubs are starting to look closely at just how Newcastle have built such a good team,  without spending millions and millions of pounds in the transfer market,  like some other clubs have.

We wont mention who those clubs are, but Manchester City and Liverpool have both spent (wasted) millions and millions in the transfer market over the last couple of years. 😀

The big strength of the Newcastle team is the team spirit,  and it’s only to be expected that players are rushing to get back into the squad,  so they can contribute to Newcastle over the last four vital games of the  season.

How many Newcastle fans would have thought last summer that we’d be 3 points clear in 4th place in the Premier League with four games to play?

I thought I had written an article on finishing in 4th place in the league last July – but I cannot seem to find it,  for some reason.

It’s just been absolutely amazing what the lads have done this season,  and it’s been like a dream – a good dream.

Let’s hope that dream-like state continues through May 13th.

Howay The Lads!!

I don’t mind having Simpson playing for us for another 3 to 4 years.
Btw is it really a big problem not having left footed LB or LW? We have Santon and Fergie also Raylor or Jonas for LB, not good enough?

Mar is going to be a massive player for us next season, pace, trickery, see’s a pass, basically we could have TWO HBA’s on our hands 🙂

I’m not sure as to all the pts simspon has cost as i cant remember all the goals against off the top of my head he had shockers against wolves spurs and arsenal. You only have to watch his all round play to realise he is not good enough to play week in week out at a top 6 prem club thats the end of discussion for me as i dont want to come across as a negger on this blog and all i have contributed to it over the last few days is posts on how poor simpson is.

I’m more pleased that Obertan is back – he proved against Blackburn what a good sub he can be

I dont think Marv will be risked this season to be honest – he needs a good pre season under his belt

It’s getting to a stage where Newcastle will have to leave quality players out completely…

Perch, Raylor, Ferguson, Guthrie, Abeid, Gosling, Marv, Obertan, Shola, Best….

Can’t fit them all on the bench!

Great to see Marv back availible, reckon he will sit well in the 433 system as a sub for Ba or HBA.
