Alan Pardew is not wondering where Newcastle may end up at the end of season in the Premier League.
Alan Pardew – concentrating on final four games of the season
Newcastle could finish in 4th place – where they are right now – or even in 3rd place – if the lads do really well in the last four games of the season, but Alan is not into that speculation – which is a good thing.
Alan will simply put his side together for every one of the last four games, with the goal to win each and every game.
And if they do that – we’ll end up in the league where we end up – but the important thing is to concentrate on how to extend that great winning streak to 10 games in a row, by the end of the season.
This is what Pardew told the Daily Express today:
“We are in a great position and we have to try the best we can in the four games left.” “We cannot think about ifs and maybes, we have to just keep looking after ourselves,”
“There are four cup finals left between now and the end of the season and we can still finish anywhere from third to sixth.”
The goal for Newcastle will be to win every single remaining game, and if we can do that we may not have any lingering doubts about qualification for the Champions League, because we will probably end up in 3rd place in the league table, and above Arsenal.
We can then watch the Champions League final six days after the end of the Premier League season, on May 19th, and not be worried that Chelsea may actually win that game.
In fact Newcastle fans may even be pulling for the London side, in that situation.
If the miracle does happen and Newcastle are in 3rd position and Arsenal is 4th place – a Chelsea win would mean Arsenal not qualifying for the Champions League for the first time since Arsene Wenger starting managing the Gunners back in 1996.
That would be something, and given what Newcastle have been able to achieve this season – it’s even a possibility.
