Newcastle Goal – Extend Winning Streak To 10 Games In A Row

Alan Pardew is not wondering where Newcastle may end up at the end of  season in the Premier League.

Alan Pardew – concentrating on final four games of the season

Newcastle could finish in 4th place – where they are right now – or even in 3rd place –  if the lads do really well in the last four games of the season, but Alan is not into that speculation – which is a good thing.

Alan will simply put his side together for every one of the last four games, with the goal to win each and every game.

And if they do that – we’ll end up in the league where we end up – but the important thing is to concentrate on how to extend that great winning streak to 10 games in a row,  by the end of the season.

This is what Pardew told the Daily Express today:

“We are in a great position and we have to try the best we can in the four games left.” “We cannot think about ifs and maybes, we have to just keep looking after ourselves,”

“There are four cup finals left between now and the end of the season and we can still finish anywhere from third to sixth.”

The goal for Newcastle will be to win every single remaining game, and if we can do that we may not have any lingering doubts about qualification for the Champions League,  because we will probably end up in 3rd place in the league table, and above Arsenal.

We can then watch the Champions League final six days after the end of the Premier League season, on May 19th, and not be worried that Chelsea may actually win that game.

In fact Newcastle fans may even be pulling for the London side,  in that situation.

If the miracle does happen and Newcastle are in 3rd position and Arsenal is 4th place – a Chelsea win would mean Arsenal not qualifying for the Champions League for the first time since Arsene Wenger starting managing the Gunners back in 1996.

That would be something, and given what Newcastle have been able to achieve this season – it’s even a possibility.

I`m so chuffed with wor team these days. Mecannylad is an old geezer now out to grass in the Peak District…. and tingling with excitement.
I`ve got more than 1,000 first team games as a fan at St James under my belt and the feeling of the lads coming good again is giving me a new lease of life. I only hope I can survive the excitement.www.mecannylad.com

Just looked again….even if we win all 4 we’re not guaranteed 3rd. If Arsenal win their 3 we’d be on joint points.

I said it yesterday (and before) that there are just too many if’s and but’s to consider. We’ll know soon enough.

One game at a time and keep the faith!

Lew davies -Third is realistic and may not require a ten game run…….

Arsenal have to go to Stoke, norwich and West Brom……..it is possible that could see them picking up only 3.

Tottenham have blackburn, bolton, villa and fulham…..it is possible they pick up 6.

Chelsea have Qpr, Us, Liverpool and Blackburn could pick up as little as 6..

I think third is a realistic target as we may just need 7…..

Arsenal will be feeling the pressure now all we have to do is score 12/13 goals against wigan and they’ll be right in the excrement.
I really think that this is the best team I’ve seen in my lifetime, the keegan days were great but we now have a perfect balance between defensive capabilities and attacking prowess.
I think we can go on to win ten in a row, if we go into the man city game on the back of 8 wins having conceded only 2-3 goals with a full house at st james we can win it. It’s unfortunate that they and Chelsea have hit form, but we hit form before them and we have that old cliched momentum. When we go to Chelsea their defense will be weakened and they’ll be no match for our attacking force, we may concede but we’ll score more than them. A win at stamford bridge will boost our confidence even further giving us the ability to go on and perform against Man City.
First things first though, Wigan on Saturday, a victory and another clean sheet. We can do it, yes we can.

I’m an optimist and recognize that we have a chance at 3rd or 4th, but also fully accept we could just as easily finish 5th or 6th.

It’s an enjoyable ride being a NUFC supporter for a change and I think we should all be enjoying it and not bickering whether or not people are right or wrong in their predictions for achievable points / final position.

Codarm @ 19 – I agree, but this Davies character is peppering the boards with nothing but negativity…….third is a realistic target……we may not get it….it may require a 10 game run….it may require two scrappy wins and a draw…..

Who knows, its been a great season and will not be disappointed with what we have done, we are in europe….

Offkey…Lew has a good enough grasp of the English language to discount him being Bob or one of his alter egos. He’s on the cusp of realism and negativity….which is a shame for him imo…but each to their own 🙂
