Newcastle have come across this season as a well-run family, and Alan Pardew is adamant that everybody at the club, from Mike Ashley down, have played their part in the success of the club.
Liz Hornsby – The Newcastle Chef – important cog in the wheel
She has the Newcastle players on fire – and that frying pan
And one of those people is Newcastle Chef Liz Hornsby, who has prepared the meals for the Newcastle players, and is famous for creating that Senegal meal called Yassa, that Papis Cisse loves so much.
That’s important, because since Liz has served up that meal, Cisse has scored in every game, and we know it’s no coincidence – and it’s important that Liz keeps fueling the Newcastle players with the right food.
Papiss Cisse is on a run of scoring in every one of the last six league games, the first time that has been achieved in the Premier League, since Cristiano Ronaldo did it back in 2008.
Shola and Ben Arfa enjoy a Liz prepared breakfast before training
Maybe Ben Arfa is not fully awake yet?
The Senegalese dish Yassa, was first introduced to the staff canteen at the club by Cisse’s international team-mate, and Newcastle’s top scorer, Demba Ba.
Papiss had this to say today about Yassa and Liz:
“I love it. The chef at the club, Liz, did a really great job. I spoke to Demba before I came here and he told me how good it was.”
“I knew Alan Pardew wanted me but since I don’t speak English I didn’t speak on the phone.” “It’s when we arrived that we managed to talk to him with my agent.”
“Because I was leaving for the African Nations Cup, Pardew prepared a DVD to show me the team’s style of play. I watched it every evening.”
“Newcastle’s style suits me. Everyone likes Ben Arfa on the wing, Cabaye gives me some amazing passes and there’s Demba Ba, who spoke a lot about the club.”
Both Papiss Cisse and Demba Ba are very good players for Newcastle, and we have to hope that Demba Ba signs a new deal to stay at Newcastle very soon.
We will have to remind him that Yassa is probably not available at other clubs, Strawberry Syrup isn’t, and certainly Liz isn’t, and there’s no bigger league in the world than the Premier League, and no better supported team than Newcastle.
We also hope that Ba can get back on the scoring trail again today at the DW Stadium.
A win is all we want to see today, and that will put the pressure on both Chelsea and Tottenham, who play tomorrow at home against QPR and Blackburn respectively.

Comment #2BY THE POWER OF YASSA…….
Too many trade secrets being bandied about loosely Ed! I can picture scouse bigwigs scouring the globe for chefs to create the authentic crap kebab and cheesy chips that AC can only get in his hometown.
