Chelsea 0 Newcastle 2 – Magnificent Cisse Brace Gets All 3 Points

Newcastle repaid their fans big time tonight at Stamford Bridge with a wonderful 2-0 win against The Champions League finalists, and they go 4 points ahead of Chelsea.

Newcastle started this game as they needed to,  and they were very tight at the back, and came out of the blocks quickly, and they withstood early Chelsea pressure.

And then Newcastle after 19 minutes Newcastle broke quickly with Gutierrez putting Davide Santon surging down the the left wing.

The Italian put the ball into the box to Papiss Cisse, and the Senegal striker stopped the ball with his right foot and rifled the ball into the net with his left foot.

A fantastic goal by Newcastle and Cisse, to put the Magpies 1-0 up.

That was Cisse’s 12th goal in 12 appearances for Newcastle, and after 25 minutes Newcastle began to come more into the game and had been the better side.

Newcastle were the better side in the first half and just before the break Demba Ba had no luck at all, when his right foot shot hit the cross-bar and came out.

Chelsea brought on Mata immediately at the start of the second half,  and then Didier Drogba was brought on after 65 minutes, as they tried to pull the goal back, but Newcastle put in a strong defensive performance

Newcastle were holding out well,  as Chelsea were trying to get the all important goal,  the referee gave 10 minutes of injury time – Chelsea must have been losing.

And 4 minutes into stoppage time, Papiss Cisse hit a right foot curling shot from the left wing, which curled over Cech and into the net, and it was Newcastle 2-0 up.

Another fantastic goal by Papiss Cisse and his 13th in 12 appearances for Newcastle.

This was Newcastle’s first win at Stamford Bridge since way back in November of 1986, and it was Newcastle’s 15th clean sheet of the season and the 5th one in the last 7 games.

A simply magnificent showing by Newcastle tonight, and you talk about the Agony and the Ecstasy – it was Agony on Saturday, but it was Ecstasy tonight.

Spurs walloped Bolton 4-1 at the Reebok, so they remain ahead of Newcastle, with both clubs now on 65 points.

A wonderful fighting display by the Magpies tonight.

Howay The Lads!!

He’s the most lethal, instinctive ST I’ve ever seen, no exaggeration, so accurate too, if it doesn’t end up in the net, it’s almost always on target, not to mention he should have words like ‘ping’ and ‘bam’ in bold block letters, flashing off his foot every time he connects with the ball, such is his tendency for comic strip strikes!

First goal for me was absolute quality.
One touch then lashed it in.

Second goal, incredible, but an element of luck, I think.

If those two goals are not up there with the best, the second one must surely be a serious contender for Goal of the season, I’ll plait fog.

    A majestic strike.
