Newcastle Have Big Chance To Throw Party On Sunday

Jonas Gutierrez has said today that Papiss Cisse has been amazing at Newcastle,  but that it’s important not to concentrate too much on just one player.

Jonas Gutierrez – Papiss Cisse goal simply amazing

But it’s really hard not to do that at the moment with Papiss, but Jonas makes a good point, because it seems to us that Demba Ba is working so hard for the side, and he was unlucky not to score at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday evening.

But in the Sky Sports Interview after the game, Ba seemed upbeat and happy, and there was a good camaraderie between him and his Senegal strike partner, Papiss Cisse – and that was good to see.

Jonas was asked about Papiss’ second goal on Wednesday night, and the word he kept using was amazing:

“It was an amazing, amazing goal.” “It is difficult to score with that part of your boot, I did not know that was possible.”

“It was an incredible goal, to score from that position is amazing and in the last five minutes too? It is just amazing.”

“We are very happy about Cissé’s form, but we must talk about the whole team.” “Demba worked very hard – he worked extremely hard for us and that is also important.”

“We want him to come back to goal-scoring form.”  “That is really important for him and for the whole team, for all of their confidence.”

Newcastle have a great chance to end their home league season on Sunday in great style, by beating league leaders Manchester City.

We remember last season’s final game of the season, when we were 3-0 up with just 30 minutes to play against West Brom, but ended up conceding a goal in stoppage time to draw 3-3 – and that was a huge disappointment and cost Newcastle 3 places in the league table.

That was  terrible and a repeat on Sunday will spoil the party for Newcastle, after what has been a phenomenal season for the Magpies.

It would be  a dream come true,  if Newcastle can beat City on Sunday, but we also know that City are expecting a really tough game, and we know it will be very difficult.

This is what Jonas said about the game:

“It is going to be a massive game, we know we have to be really focused for 90 minutes.”

“They have a fantastic team and squad and if they want to keep going and win the title they have to come to our place to win the game – which is not easy for any team.”

“We know what they can do and they still have to come and play very well to beat us.” “We are a very good team as well and they will know that.”

Newcastle once again have an opportunity to make massive headlines around the world on Sunday, and we’d love to know what the world wide TV audience for this game will be – it should be massive.

It’s a great chance for Newcastle to further spread the brand that is Newcastle United – and also get closer to that Champions League position, by playing somewhere near their best form and taking all 3 points.

And a win will set off a tremendous party at St. James’ Park,  and in Newcastle after the game – that’s for sure.

It’s also highly likely that Newcastle owner Mike Ashley will be night clubbing in Newcastle,  if the lads can only win the game – an it should be drinks all around from the Billionaire.

Howay The Lads!!

Spoke like a captain. Emphasis on the team, on giving Ba support and on being quietly confident.

Regardless of what happens now its been a fantastic season. The players deserve a cheer regardless of the result. (obviously 3 points is ideal)

I have to say, that trip to Chelsea was one of the best away trips i have had in my many years following us.

The performance had everything, and after a nervous opening 15 (Torres seemed to have pulled Willo all over the field) we settled down and looked the better side. We took the pressure well and countered them superbly.

And the goals aren’t worth a comment as nothing does them justice. The man is good enough to play for any team on the planet. We will not be selling anyone this Summer unless Pards thinks they can be replaced. We have a brilliant group and I just can’t wait to see the boys take to the field for every game. They can’t come quick enough.

1 win and we have 5th guaranteed. So even if we don’t break the top 4, to finish above Chelsea would be incredible. Hopefully we can take at least a point on Sunday, if we do then we are still in with a small chance on the last day of the season. I am sure that either Arsenal or Spurs will drop points in 1 game. 4 points for us might just be enough to edge Spurs.

Great credit to Guti for giving confidence to Ba, I am really hoping the lad gets on the team sheet and when better than the last home game of the season where the atmosphere will already be top quality!

Everyone should be celebrating what has been a top quality season on Sunday regardless and I am absolutely gutted I am not going!
