This Is How Far Newcastle Have Come In Just Three Years!

By accident this morning one of our long time readers, Henrik Høyland, brought up my Match Preview of the Manchester City game against Newcastle on 28th January of 2009 – and he read it.

Coloccini – started the game at Manchester City on 28th January, 2009.

Have a read of the Match Preview I wrote then,  to more fully understand just how far our team has come in a short three years – it’s simply incredible.

A few days after that game, Shay Given joined Manchester City and our goose was cooked, and it was so difficult to write about Newcastle in those days – in fact it was torture.

We lost that game 2-1 by the way.

Remember where we were,  when you watch the game today – and our lads can hopefully get another incredible win.

Newcastle and Tottenham are interested in the services of German international defender Serdar Tasci, 25, but they face stiff competition from rival suitors Roma and Juventus.

things change, we always have to believe it is possible
even in the first division fans were there.
and any Newcastle united player know that.
and even if we lose today we going to sing all day because we are fans of this great newcastle

Morning Chaps – just reading through the old previous preview written by Ed there.. If you look at that back four that day (S.Taylor, Bassong, Colo, Enrique) I think it would be fair to say on paper it looks like a stronger back four than what we have this season. Just goes to show what a quality job Pardews done in getting the best out of everyone and getting them playing as a unit at the back.

Can you imagine, if Cisse – At the end of this season – will have scored more goals than Ba? Ba will be depressed. 16 goals, and now this lad comes with 13, amazing.

Its a elevem man show, I think I heard someone sy that BA had to be sacrificed to help the team, it´s working, great Pardew and BA, and all of them.

Simpson is a far better defender than people give him credit for, end of.

I do not think Simpson is a bad player, he has done well this season. Just looks like he does not want to sign his contract which suggests to me he wants more money than be part of the ‘NEW’ Newcastle.

Its all up to him but the club will not let him just run down his contract, they will want a decent fee.
