Santon for me as well. I just got back from SJP I though he was our best player today.

It really was a game that could have gone either way. Shame they scored when they did.

The 2nd was just us getting caught on the break, simple as that.

Cracking effort by the lads regardless(today and all season). Stayed behind to thank them all.

Gutierrez for me. He was our only threat from midfield as Tiote, Cabaye and even HBA had an off day today. Our defense was solid for most of the game and our strike force barely had a sniff but did well considering.

Our midfield was our downfall and Gutierrez was the only one creating stuff and not losing possession.

JP.I don;t any of them had an off day mate.

We were up against arguably one of the strongest teams in the world and could have even been ahead at times.

Their midefield is epic with Toure, Silva etc and I though for 99% of the game Tiote, Cabaye and Jonas matched them.

They only just managed to beat us. Just.

Geordie Dan – Okay we matched them for 60% of the match not 99% but we did match them, and that is an achievement in itself.

We have beaten the Champions off the park,
We’ve shocked the Champions League Finalists,
We’ve matched probable League Champions for most of the match.
    We’ve secured the Europa League
We’re within touching distance of at Top 4 finish in our last game!

Amazing Season and Pardew, Ashley, the backroom staff and the lads deserve all the plaudits for what has been a truly unbelievable season.

You’ve all made me proud and I am looking forward to what exciting new signings will be coming our way in the summer ahead.
