The Newcastle journal are reporting that Newcastle have invited Marseilles and France Under-19 international defender Christophe Lowinsky for a trial.
Christophe Lowinsky – French U19 defender
The lad turned 20 only last Sunday, and Christophe has 6 caps for France at various youth levels, and he has been playing well for the Marseilles Reserve side.
Lowinsky joined Marseilles at 18, and started playing in the U18 side but progressed to playing for the Reserve side.
We expect Newcastle to bring in a number of these youngsters, who will be part of the Development squad initially, and then come through as soon as possible to the first team squad.
The news is that Lowinsky is already in Newcastle, and the Newcastle coaches will take a closer look at him, and if is good enough we suppose the Magpies will then try to sign the defender.
The Journal is reporting that Lowinsky is available for transfer at the end of the season, and we assume his current contract at Marseilles runs out at the end of June.
Lowinsky is a very physical player and stands 6ft 2in tall, and he was born in Fort de France in Martinique, which is an island in the Lesser Antilles in the eastern Caribbean Sea, and the island is an overseas region of France.
Last month he made his debut for Martinique in the 1-0 win over Guadeloupe, but he can still play for France one day, because the game was not a competitive match, and only a friendly.
Lowinsky has just been promoted from the U19’s to the Marseilles Reserve side, and he has been touted as the next Phillipe Mexes, the French International center-back who played for Auxerre and Roma, before moving to AC Milan last year.
It’s not surprising that other Premier clubs are also said to be interested in the youngster.
The lad can play center-back or left back and it seems that Newcastle have stolen a march on their competitors in England.
One of Newcastle’s strategies is to find top youngsters, before they have fully developed, and bring them to Tyneside, and mold them into first team players at Newcastle.
Anybody seen this lad play?
Comments welcome.

Comment #4GT89 – if its between us and the mackems, and he chooses them, then it ill be because he is a money man and they can have him. if he has any sense he would go for the big club 🙂
This is a nice bt of news to start the day with, I hope this is the level of scouting Carr & Co are going to keep up to, looks like we’re moulding versatile backs who can play in multiple positions, bit like Perchy.
On another trialist note, how is that Curtis Good young ‘un getting on? I heard we extended his stay, anyone clocked his style yet?

Comment #5I wouldnt read too much into the players we give trials. As of late i can think of a fair few we have had and didnt sign it has been going on all season (situ, remy, prior to name but a few)
As for competition for signings with 5under1and the fact we finished around 20 points ahead of them is enough to swing any deal. Just look at Papiss they paid for his flight!

Comment #11Curtis Good – last report I saw, sounded like we were interested and would make an offer.
Whether or not we make one, and whether it’s acceptable, have to wait and see.

Comment #14yeah great minds think alike.
I really hope we can bring in some players of similar quality to the ones who came in this season, and we keep hold of all our top players.
My little brother was so disapointed that we lost on Sunday, but like I told him that disapointment is good because it means he thought we had a chance (instead of just expecting the loss). plus like I pointed out to him the majority of citys team have had seasons to gell together where as we have only had a season so things will only get better asuming we keep our main players.

Comment #20Anyone have any news on how Yven Moyo is developing? Highly rated but heard very little of how he has been playing etc. Seems to make little to no headlines. Anyone got any news on him?
