Probably the very best thing coming out of the 3-1 defeat at Everton yesterday, was the form of Frenchman Sylvain Marveaux.
Sylvain Marveaux challenges Leon Osman yesterday
Sylvain came on for the second half and looked very good, after being out since last November with a groin problem, and hopefully that has now been fixed with an operation being carried out at the famous Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colorado.
Marveaux is well ahead in the voting, and there’s still a chance to vote if you haven’t already done so.

Comment #1This proves how poorly we played yesterday. Nice new signing, this Marveaux though.

Comment #2Does anyone remember Shearer’s challenge on Lennon that Barton was on about? Is he right? Apparently in ten worst fouls list of ESPN.

Comment #3predictions for the summer: 1 big player will go (my bet is demba ba). Think we’ll buy 3 defenders! A specialist centre half, a right back and a squad player that can fill in at centre half and full back! (Debuchy, Alderwiereld and pieters would be amazing but all 3 unlikely)
With Guthrie leaving and tiote on African nations a centre mid is likely, someone who can go box to box. Corgnet would be immense!
Think amalfitano is already signed, hes more of the ben arfa school of playing, my guess is he’ll be a squad player who comes of the bench when benny is tired and in europa!
Also think we’ll sign a striker! Iv got a really strange feeling we’ll go back in for Maiga (even though hes off to africa) if hes available for under 3m!
Need to add, the players in brackets are 1?s i think we’ll sign, theyre just ones i’d like! I fully expect us to sign 3 or 4 players that we’ve never been linked to!

Comment #4a fit marveaux will light up the premier league next season! Just nobodies seen a fit marveaux for such a long time, even in france he was forever injured! Very similar to kieron Dyer, its easy to see all the talent, its just getting him on the pitch thats the problem! Great player when playing tho!

Comment #5When is a thug a hero (e.g. Rooney, Keane, Vinny Jones) and when just a thug?

Comment #6Marveaux looked good yesterday, hope he has a great pre season and delivers the goods for us next season – we will need all the bodies we can get!!
I would also like to see a proper left winger, preferably one with an end product!! Jonas grafts, there is absolutely no doubt about that and he is superb helping out the FB as well.
But, for all his effort, unless he manages to win a foul for another player to put the ball into the box, he just does not manage it – he couldn’t cross the street to be honest.
We either need Pardeau to seriously work on this aspect of Jonas’ game or we need someone who goes down the wing and whips the ball across – we have 2 great strikers, but we seldom see balls being fired into and across the penalty area. We would be a far better team if we had that ability!!

Comment #7@Cyprus – when they lead under pressure? Keane and Jones were thugs, but when the pressure was on they led by example, but themselves on the line for theyre team etc, barton on the other hand, when the pressure is on cracks! He bottled our relegation run in by getting sent off at liverpool needlessly and he nearly cost QPR survival yesterday! The difference is, under pressure to win, you’d want a keane, or a jones, or even a rooney now hes matured, but if we went into a game absolutely needing to win, i wouldnt have barton anywhere near the starting 11!
