Now Arsenal Linked With Move For Demba Ba

Demba  Ba has already been closely linked with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur this year.

Demba Ba – in action for Senegal

And now he is being linked with a move to Arsenal – but that could be made up news – what a shock that would be.

And that’s simply because Robin van Persie may leave Arsenal in the summer, and reporters are therefore thinking that Arsene Wenger could go after the Newcastle striker, who may be available on the cheap.

Demba  Ba still has two years left on his three year deal at Newcastle, and of course there’s that release clause said to be in his contract, and the amount is widely reported to be around £7M.

It would be tragic if Demba  Ba left Newcastle this summer, and it would be made even worse if he left for peanuts, because when Newcastle signed him on a free transfer last summer, the news on him was that he had a dodgy knee, and of course had failed his medical at Stoke City.

But that had held up well to a full  season on Tyneside, and he scored 16 goals in the Premier League, but the news is that Ba may be less happy at Newcastle, than he used to be.

Since his Senegal team-mate Papiss Cisse – Cisse hasn’t just scored all the goals -0 13 goals in 14 appearances in the famous number 9 shirt – but he has also got all the publicity.

We don’t know if that matters to Demba, but it seems Alan Pardew is saying a top player could leave Newcastle in the summer, and he seems to be preparing the fans for such an event.

It could well be that Demba Ba moves on, but we’d love it if he signs a new deal on Tyneside.

At least then if he does move, Newcastle will get the market price for him.

What do you think?

I didn’t say anything about Tiote. I’m only talking about his release clause is similar to Llorente and there’s nothing the club can do, and he doesn’t seem to be happy about Cisse stealing all the highlights. I don’t mind if Ba goes. There are many talented strikers who doesn’t have to leave for ACN. Grow up, Kid! Not everyone is a mackem and stop calling people stupid, it just shows that you are lack ability to debate.

Haven’t posted for a coupla days – can’t get too excited about hearsay and claptrap. Also it was my birthday yesterday so I was rather busy. Remember why they cal the summer the “Silly Season” for news – cos naff all happens. Rather than have headlines like “Toon fan one number away from winning £10 on lottery!” they make things up – then they can print a retraction / denial / converse view next day.
Until something definite happens I won’t believe we’re selling X (pick any player) and buying Y ( ditto) for £Z (use random number generator). Actually quite enjoying cricket this summer!

Arsenal will only come in for Ba if RVP goes as they’ve already got loads of attacking options with Podolski, Walcott, the Ox & Park Chu Young as well there so fingers crossed they keep RVP although if he goes i think Wenger’s first choice replacement will be Olivier Giroud as he’s quite a similar player to RVP so i don’t think Ba will be going to Arsenal. I can’t see Ba going to Chelski either as i think that they’re going to bring in a marquis signing for there CF to compete with Torres when the Drog goes e.g. Falcao, Cavani or Hulk. The 2 clubs we have to worry about coming in for Ba are PSG and Tottenham Scumbags. Spurs are unlikely to keep Adebayor as his wage demands are ridiculous so could turn to Ba because ‘Arry’s being talking all season about how he has the power to sign everybody but just decided not to also if PSG come in Ba’s off as its his boyhood club and they can offer boatloads of cash for him but i think Ba will stay along with all our players so lets bring in the much need 5-6 new quality players to take the club to the TOP 4!

I can’t see arsene wanting to replace vp with ba.

Ba will be gone to the Acon so who plays in his place while he’s gone. Arsene doesn’t want another injury prone player which ba is rumoured to be.

He would see it as too much of a risk.

From the players point of view he never wanted to be in the limelight. Why did he turn down te no9 if he wanted to be the main man.

Chelsea is far more realistic but then if they don’t get cl then it would be a silly move for him

I was adressing you over Ba and ilovetoon8788 over Tiote and lets be honest you two seem to think by seeling two of our best players we’ll suddenly bring in Luuk de Jong and some world class CDM to replace them. We need to build not dissemble this squad so that means removing the fringe and building around the core & good squad players hear with 5 new quality players to help take us to the Champions League next season.

Out of Cisse, Ben Arfa, Ba,Tiote and Cabaye; I would much rather it was Ba who left as he is clearly the most replaceable due to the vast array of strikers around.

Ben arfa can unlock defences and score magical goals.
    Cisse is just amazing.
Tiote is a solid rock in mid.
Cabaye is great with a pass
Ba is good however he leaves for ACON every year and he has gone off boil, for the release clause we receive for him we could add couple mil to it and get Giroud.
    Just my two pennies worth

Why not keep both players and still add class to it? We’ll be short of 4 strikers by my count and with 2 going to Acon I believe we need to bring 2 in and keep ba.

I hope Ba renegotiates his contract.

Most players are mercenaries and just say the right things for PR with the club’s fans.
I think he’ll go. He’ll say it’s for the CL but it’ll be for the cash.

Can’t complain – he did it to West Ham to come here.

When did I say selling two : Tiote & Ba? Losing 1 player (Ba) is not dissembling a squad. He has shown everyone that he is a good goal scorer on his own, offering a new contract to get rid of that crazy releasee clause will need negotiating especially wage and now that Ba has bargaining power, do you think he will accept slight increase only? I’m just being realistic here, look at simpson trying to negotiate with the board, he’s going to be sold. I don’t mind Ba leaving us, because we can’t afford to have too many African players. If he went to Africa for 1-2 months, let say we have a new striker and he’s scoring every game, when Ba came back he will want his spot then what are you going to do? Leave Ba on the bench or put him on starting eleven?

Reading over the lines I get the feeling that the general consensus is trhat most fans would be happy for Ba to be replaced with a non ACON striker who would be better suited to the system used since signing Cisse, just hope everyone hasn’t forgottten how great Demba was in the first half of the season, and that people realise that Cisse will have his share of injuries and fatigue and will be absent for the ACON,so whoever does replace Ba will have big shoes to fill.

@ hatem no he activated his clause with west ham mid way through re negotiating his contract because halfway through there end if season dinner a group if fans barged in askin for autographs etc one was quiet pushy with demba security removed him at which point the group of about 15-20 fans startes racially abusing him and 1 even spat on him he left that night basically

Also why do so many ppl want ba to leave? He was the driving force behind this team at the start of the season and what makes ppl think cisse will start the season the way he finished??

For me I want him to stay but if it is his character to crave attention then I don’t want him.

If he wants to leave then bye bye. Yeah we will only get 3-5 million but his goals have given us more than that anyway due to where we are in the league.

There is no room in nufc for greed anymore and he either stays for footballing reasons or leaves for his own selfishness.

Whatever the result ill be happy.

Hi guys 1st time on here,

i would like to says we should sell ba, add 5 million buy Luuk de Jong, watch him about 20 times this season and hes an around forward, he can play on the left n a 433 , we should also buy anita( newly link today) debuchy ,clyne and elia, these 5 players would make a strong alround squad to get a top4 spot

key question is does he want to go, he can always refuse if he is really passionate and committed to nufc. if not let him go for the 7m. pick up luuk de jong for 10m before the euros.

If we sell Ba it’s a bit like chuckin away 15+ goals a season. So i’m gutted that he or Newcastle are even considering it. Tiote is also a world class player in his position as CDM but he can also have a few off games and cost us goals from time to time. I don’t want either to go but if I had to choose 1 it would be Tiote as his value is alot higher and we could get a few quality players with the extra cash his sale would set up. We would be losing the off day factor whilst not losing out on goals coming from him in our favour.
