News today in the Dutch magazine Voetbal, that Newcastle are interested in a Serbian International midfielder.
Dusan Tadic – Newcastle interested?
The news is that Newcastle are ready to make a move for Groningen midfielder Dusan Tadic.
This is the first time Newcastle have been linked with the 23 year-old, who has played 23 times for the Serbian U21 side and 4 times for the full Serbian National side.
And since signing from Serbian club FK Vojvodina in 2010, for around £1M, Tadic has played 76 times for Groningen with 14 goals.
The 5’10” tall midfielder, who is good with either foot, was born in Backa Topola, in Yugoslavia, and he has just had an outstanding season for Groningen.
We have no idea if there’s any truth in this news.
But since Chief Newcastle Scout Graham Carr has done quite a bit of scouting in Holland over the last season, it would not be beyond the realm of possibility that Newcastle are indeed interested in the Serbian International.
Here is some video of the player, and we’re sure we will be shocked by some players that Newcastle bring in this summer – and maybe this is one of them?

Comment #41I don’t think we’ll go after him. We already have enough left wingers. Marveaux, Ben Arfa and Gutierrez are all competent at playing on the left hand side.

Hehe, ye, the game is deffo changing for a pacier and more technical type, and i can see the same things as u say. With players being used in various positions to keep the opposition trying to come up with answers to counter.
It all ends up at the players ability, such as Santon, to show that he’s either equally comfortable or if he actually has a preference.
Time will tell, but i loved him at LB in the last few games. He’s come leaps and bounds.

Comment #49It’s not Eds fault this website thing is going wrong for some tho, it’s WordPress who’s taken the decision to show it like that on phones.
I use iPhone, and i liked to have the web based set up on it, i don’t like the “adapted” version either.

Comment #50Yeah, Sammi and Ferguson are our development players. It would be good if they could get sent out on loan to gain some more experience. We also have Obertan and Raylor as right-footed right wingers, however, I think we could do with another top quality right-footed right midfielder. I would rather see Abeid given the chance in the first team than us sign Mark Davies. I also think Vuckic should be utilised as a centre forward.

I read that earlier on, i love those kind of articles.
Tomorrow allot of it will be taken out of context in papers tho.
Especially the lines on Barton and this one:
“If they think we can finish fifth with a European campaign and the finances we’ve got, it’s impossible.”
I think we should all realise that Pardew has always been one to stay grounded and trying to keep fans and players grounded aswell. Altho not always easy ofc.
We’ve gone above and beyond this season. With proper strengthening and youngster coming even further up to the fore, it’s not impossible for it to happen again.
Time will tell, but i have faith we can repeat the feat, i don’t think we’ll pass it due to the extra games. It’s kinda new for us now, and it’ll be fairly new for AP and his team too. They’ll need some time to adapt.

Comment #53This story’s pathetic. All these rumours are nonsense. Even all of these Debuchy rumours. We won’t sign him as we have too many players who can play at right back (i.e. Perch, Raylor, Santon, Saylor, Gosling, Gutierrez). I can see us signing Aly Cissokho or a left-footed left back.

If it is true that Pardew has said we will not be 5th next year he is being a tool. Its not what the players want to hear or see in the papers.

Dunno if I should talk to public enemy number 1 😉 haha
Aye it will be but thats what sells papers to the masses which are mainly stupid. I agree with Pards though this season was brilliant but to expect the same next season considering the larger commitments and the fact our rivals will treble or more our transfer outlay is very unrealistic
I reckon top 8 next season I cant see us keeping up with the top 6 with the extra games, long travels and injury problems we will no doubt face

Comment #61Amalfinato or whatever hes called is signed it has been pretty much said many times by club officials, IMO the signing is underwhelming, however he is free and may prove to be decent.
We need to ship lesser players out quickly and replace with better, the only way the club will grow, there is no guarentee currently we have anybody at the club who will do as gud a job as Guthrie did last year when Check was out. Another energetic midfielder with a goal threat and creativity is needed, Sigurdson/Davies/Corgnet wud be gud, then let Vuckic and Abeid see if they can outplay them in pre-season.
Wud love just one nice big signing (5-8million) to give all the other players a lift and show that we mean business as a club, think Siggurdsson would be ideal, the boy gives guarenteed goals and wud be cool in a midfield 3.

I’m public enemy number 1 now? Did i miss something? Lol.
As Pards says, he imagine the goal will be 8th, a good run in Europe and in the cup.
Which is realistic. This season we had 10th as a goal, with a good run in a cup.
We certainly managed one of those. If we can manage 6th and get far in Europe, that’s the best we can hope for, imo.

Comment #65I know it has to be hard to do but we have to keep our minds on the fact that next season the ELC and the domestic cups are excursions to be enjoyed for what they are a change of scenery and a chance to put a little bit of silver in the cabinet nothing serious just enjoy the trips and the fun.
BUT the league is the bread and butter and we must not lose focus on that, a good run in the ELC would be good but could stretch the squad in a detrimental way whereas keeping the EPL as first priority we could be a regular back in Europe and all the time be building to the point where we can in reality retain our best players and challenge on more than one front.
And that boys is a distinct possibility. 🙂

Comment #66What is some fans obsession with Keegan….he had us playing good football, lost the plot, lost the trophy and then walked out on us not just once but twice.
He has quit every job he has had….he throws his toys out the pram as soon as things don’t go his way.
With Ashley I don’d care what he does as long as it benefits the club in some way…..he has to do everything he can to get money in as he can’t throw a billion into the club over night like chelsea and city have.
I also want to point out that Pards is right…..5th could be unachievable next year.
If liverpool and chelsea sort out their managers and spend like we expect (especially chelsea) we could be off the pace.
I think next season 6th would be amazing and 7th certainly wouldn’t be disappointing. We should aim to be the best of the rest and see if we can put a good run together and break the top 6 again.
I just hope people have realistic expectations and don’t demand Pardew is sacked if we aren’t top 6.

Comment #67WWYCD – its OK for pards to think that we wont finish 5th again but why say it, from Jan to the end of the season (when benny and Cisse played) points say we were the 3rd best team in the league. We now have Saylor/Marveaux back and all our young guns a year older, and i am sure we will sign a quality FB and CB, why cant we go again.
Reasonable fans dont expect but realistically we have a nucleas of a team that can compete with anyone, (beat Chelsea 2-0 away, still in the game with Man city on 70mins), Pardew for sure will not be saying to his staff in private that 8th is good enough so shouldnt try and treat the fans as children.
We will have a team of world class players and there is no reason for them not to perform, Pards is just trying to give himself some breathing space. Hes getting none from me, lets kick on and go for it.

Reasonable fans are often very hard to come by just look at how good our season was this time round and still as soon as we lost a match players were getting called and the chants for Pardews head began and thats when the target was top 10
As for the squad there is some quality in there yeah but every player has a price tag and we arent shy about letting the number be known

if he says these things it is good for him.
If he can convince fans and media that 8th is ok then there will be less pressure put on him and his team.
If he comes out and says we should look for 5th, or get into the champs league it puts all kind of pressure on the side.
Look at what happened at spurs when redknapp eventually claimed they could challenge for the title, they went on a terrible run and ended up 4th with no champs league football.
In reality we might have been 3rd since jan but games are over the whole season….we were the 5th best team last year. If you think that chelsea will strengthen and liverpool might have a good manager we will struggle to be ahead of them again.

Comment #74I believe come the new season if we do sign Debuchy/Douglas and a decent CM to replace guthrie, then our squad is just as strong as Spurs/Chelsea and Liverpool and as such maybe should be competing for 4th spot, plus our squad is younger and getting stronger.
Chelsea will no doubt splash the cash, however if Di Matteo is giving 12 months it will end in tears for him and chelsea will be in turmoil again. For me we will not get near Man City Man Utd and Arsenal, but the other teams all have their problems.
We have a united squad and a very astute result driven manager, we could be superb next year, boys you just need to aim high, but respect that thing can go wrong, Pardew has proved himself but is never beyond criticism, if he plays Raylor in front of BenArfa next year then he will still get pelters from me, dont care whether people think the sun shines out of his ar5e or not.

I understand your view on Pardew saying what could be taken as very dissapointing statement on our ambition.
That is the initial reaction.
Thinking how Pardew has been throughout the season, concerning talking about reaching CL and thinks like that, it’s quite typical of him to say such a thing to keep things as grounded as possible.
I think most would rather be pleasantly surprised rather than disheartenley dissapointed.

we should compete with spurs next year, they will no doubt lose some big players, modric is definitely away.
but chelsea will do well, di matteo, if given a contract, will be there for only one year, until they can get guardiola (or try).
Liverpool will struggle but they played well this year, they just didn’t put the ball in the net, if they sign a goal scorer they will definitely move up the league especially with a good manager.
Pardew can play who he likes, if it is of benefit to the team in that game then thats fine. If it backfires then obviously there will be criticism but you know he will be doing it for the right reasons..

Comment #77WWYCD – nybody calling for Pardews head this year is not a fan, simple.
Rich_Toon Fan – there is absolutely no reason at all that Liverpool should finish above us next year, if we strengthen in the right areas then we have a much better squad IMO. they have some catching up to do. Sorry but if we are behind Liverpool then bizarrely questions need to be asked.
And Fcuk Chelsea, they are a bunch of old timers and their whole squad needs a major overhaul. Jammy Basterds.

not at all.
if they spend big and have a good manager come in they could easily climb ahead of us. They will have more financial power than us and they can attract better players on reputation.
And these old timers chelsea have aren’t that old. The only old ones now are terry and lampard and they are 32 and 34 respectively, hardly too old.

I agree mate but it did happen and quite regularly so its hard to argue with Pardew stating public intentions of top 8. Behind closed doors am sure he is saying different things but fans dont need to hear that imo
Also have to disagree with u on Liverpools squad they were missing their version of Tiote for near enough the entire season and when he drops back in come August/Sept they will be a lot stronger in breaking down opponents attacks add to that Adams coming back offering more depth and who ever they are able to buy with a manager worth his pay packet…dont think they will be pushing for top 2 but fighting with us, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal and Everton I think they will be very much capable of
