Pardew – Pre-Season Is All Sorted For Newcastle

News today from Alan Pardew that the pre-season is all sorted out for Newcastle.

Graeme Lowdon – Marussia CEO and Newcastle supporter

So we would expect to have an announcement from the club that the lads will take part in the   Vodacom Challenge tournament  in   South Africa, and that friendlies have already been arranged at Sporting Club of Lisbon and at Cardiff City.

Alan is a guest of the Marussia F1 team, and it turns out their Chief Executive Officer is   Graeme Lowdon, who is also a fanatical  supporter of Newcastle  – aren’t we all?

Graeme was born in Corbridge, Northumberland, the same place as  Steve Bruce, and he even studied at Newcastle University, gaining an MBA there, after getting a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Sheffield University.

Alan Pardew is taking a break and relaxing over the weekend:

“This is a nice break with a couple of my staff just to chill out,”   “Then I’ll take my family away for a couple of weeks, and then I’ll start gearing up for the new season.”

“Pre-season is all sorted, so we’re just looking forward to what we hope will be a successful transfer window, with one or two in and taking the team forward.”

“I’m looking forward to the Euros, and of course I’ll take a bit of that in. But I’m more looking forward to tomorrow’s race. Marussia have to finish above Caterham, so I’m putting the pressure on.”

“I’m taking in Marussia’s set-up, seeing if there is anything in there for me. How they monitor the performance of the car is how we monitor the performance of the team.”

“Of course, the sports are completely different, but there are a lot of parallels, so it’s nice to share some ideas.”

It will be interesting to see if the pre-season games are as we expect, since nothing had been announced by Newcastle as yet.

And maybe even before the announcement we’ll have another player  through the door in the summer transfer window.

Hope so.

Attending MagpiesFlyHigh’s surprise birthday bash with no one showing up is too good for Ashley.

1 or 2 in?? lol i think he’s playing mind games and not giving anything out. we already have 1 in, in Amalfitano. he’s pushing for first team spot. So if you take Pardew words literally we will only sign 1 more. lol.

Just sounds like an expression to me.. i hope 😉
I expect us to maybe lose 5 or 6..including Smith, Simmo, Loverman, Guthrie and possibly Ba and another. Looks likely we will keep Santon at left back..so we will essentially need a RB, CB, 2CM (including Amalfitoono) and a CF at least to make an improvement on last season.

think he means 1 or 2 to go straight into the team, amalfitoono doesn’t fit into that

we dont need 2 more cms – 1 tops, 1 backup/young striker. 1 cb 1 rb/lb (2 to go straight into the team)

As for 1 or 2 in, that’s like saying a few. An undecided number but not tons

I’m confused as to why there’s been no mention of Amalfitano from Pardew..? Just seems a little odd.

Of course I may have missed it, in which case I’d appreciate anyone linking it.

I think the high risk game that Tiote plays leaves him prone to picking up alot of injuries..think this will always be the case. Take the ACON out of this as well and the likelihood of him missing 15 games plus a season is something I feel needs to be also addressed. I’d feel more confident in the squad knowing that we had someone who could come in and do a similar job.

although i can’t find anything else about it so maybe it’s not true, he’d be a decent free signing

Yeh tackles well and bombs forward like a runaway train at times. Think if we do end up missing out on him I suspect we will have learned from last summer and have a few alternatives lined up. Last summer the guy I wanted was Cisse…this year for me M’Biwa is probably the guy i hope we sign the most.

    The there’s the CF.

That deridiok, we were interested in him lat term, he scored two good goals (one touch finish and a header) and missed one-on-one. P.s Germany has just scored.

Derdiyok has changed clubs. Pre signed for this summer, cant remember what team tho.
Barnetta is low risk. Give him a 4 year contract if we cannot get a hold of Hoilett.
