Tim Krul Gets Third Cap In Surprise Dutch Defeat – Video

Tim Krul collected his 3rd cap for Holland last night, and played the whole game against Bulgaria in Amsterdam, as the Dutch were surprisingly beaten 2-1, when they conceded a poor late goal.

A dejected Tim Krul after conceding the winner in stoppage time

The Dutch went ahead jusrt before half-time, when Arsenal’s Robin van Persie put the ball in the net and it was 1-0 at the break.

But then Bulgaria were awarded a rather dubious penalty just five minutes into the second half, and Ivelin Popov easily sent the Newcastle goalkeeper the wrong way from the penalty spot, and scored easily.

And then well into stoppage time, a perfect right wing cross came in from Manolev, and Mitsanski headed the ball home from a narrow angle,  to give Bulgaria a famous win against the Dutch.

The Netherlands will play Slovakia on Wednesday night, as they continue their preparations for Euro 2012, and they are a favorite in the tournament, along with World Champions Spain.

Holland are taking three goalkeepers to Euro2012 in their final squad of 23, and they are Tim Krul, Swansea keeper Michel Vorm and Roma goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg.

Bulgaria did not qualify for the finals, and finished bottom of  qualifying Group G,  which England won with 18 points from their eight games, and finished 6 points above second placed Montenegro.

Here is a video of the goals last night:

I have seen one reason why netherland wont win the euros and its because they dont have good defence. The mbiwa guy would do us good if we are to spend.

Mbiwa is a world class defender and won’t cost 12 million. Maybe half of it. Problem is apparently Manchester United are looking at him as well.

And Bolton lee-chung young is a quality winger. Extremely underrated and unnoticed. Will be, cheap and has the potential to be brilliant. Hope we get him!

Yeah Pieters is injured, didnt recover from a hairline fracture in his foot in time.

Powell is going to man utd for 4m after this playoff game according to the papers.

As for mbiwa, he’s not world class at all. You obviously haven’t seen him play except youtube clips. Bramble could look good on youtube. If he was world class he would have many france game – he has 0. Still a good player dont get me wrong

Newcastle United are haggling over the fee
for Crystal Palace right back Nathaniel
    Clyne .
The 21-year-old has been linked with a
move away from Selhurst Park and has
caught the eye of a number of Premier
    League sides. Manchester United and
Manchester City were both said earlier this
year to be ready to do a £2.5million deal
for the England Under-21 international but
Clyne remains a Palace player and a clue
as to why can be found in the figures now
    being talked about.
According to The People, Palace want an
initial £3million with add-ons bringing the
total fee to £5million. However, Newcastle
have put a £2million limit on the player
and are refusing to go above that amount.

Clyne to NUFC talk is gaining momentum. So do we want him to come or not? Differences in valuation aside, is he any improvement on Simmo?

    Links please??

He would be a coup if we get him, with santon, tavs, fergie and clyne, add dumit to that and we are sorted for the next 5 years and beyond in the fullback department 🙂 imo

I’d prefer debauchy any day. I’m not narrow sighted enough to prefer a player cos they’re english, although we should have a strong english contingent. But talent must come first. I’m a little nervous about this transfer window to be honest, if big mike don’t break his cycle of terrible mistakes every once in a while I feel that our momentum will come to rest with a lame income of quality. Our moment is now, our potential must be realised

Don’t really wanna go into who I wanna sign, cos newcastle operates with such frugalism that its impossible almost to see the reality from the bluff. But I think we will challenge with a new rightback to prioritise over simpson (who would still get games), a cb to challenge steven taylor and not replace, another attacking winger maybe to give gutierrez his well deserved odd break and a top quality striker. Players need to buy into the squad game and be happy to be rotated

its allover Twitter, not the best source…i know, but its been going for a few weeks so there might be something in it.

My only concern with Debuchy is a lack of serious pace and for a FB who loves to venture forward he lacks the recovery-pace requisite. I watch alot of Ligue 1 and the Lille CB’s spend alot of the game covering the RB area. That aside his technique on the ball is a joy to watch.

man oh man, i like this player so much… I have been following Sotiris Ninis since he was 16 years of age. Plays in any attaking role, out right, left, mainly in center attacking mid. Can make that killer pass, has pace, has tricks n his bag.

i think he is gonna come back from euros with Greece and go to Parma for cheap price….
