Newcastle United and Senegal striker Papiss Cisse - the great one – has been recognized for his exploits for Newcastle and SC Freiburg this year in the Premier League and Bundesliga.

Papiss arrived on Tyneside in early February from the African Cup of Nations, and ended up scoring 13 goals in 14 appearances for the Magpies that propelled Newcastle to 5th place in the Premier League last season.
Papiss Cisse has won the Talents D’Afrique trophy from French television station Canal+.
The Talents D’Afrique trophy is given to the player who scored the most goals throughout in the five top European leagues – England, Spain, Germany, France and Italy during the season.
Cisse scored nine goals in 17 appearances in the Bundesliga for SC Freiburg last season, and they struggled but finally finished up in 12th place with 40 points, 9 points above the drop zone.
So in 31 appearances last season in total, Cisse scored an astonishing 22 goals in the English and German top leagues – not too bad at all.
And the new Newcastle number 9 will receive his trophy in his hometown of Dakar next Sunday.
Papiss Cisse is already like a God on Tyneside – the Goal God – and some of his 13 goals for Newcastle this year have been unbelievable – and even that’s an understatement.
