Newcastle Have Identified Demba Ba Replacement – Video

Newcastle have already identified a number of replacements should some of their top stars leave this summer.

Luuk de Jong – Newcastle top striker target

The player most likely to leave, and we think he will, is Demba Ba, and he will leave for peanuts, if the release clause in his contract of £7M, is activated over the next two months.

Ba himself will get £2.5M and maybe his representatives will take about £2M, so there’ll not be much left for Newcastle.

In fact thiy will just about recover their cost of getting the player on a free transfer, which have been rumored to be £2M paid to his representatives last June.

The player Newcastle have lined up to replace Ba is 21 year-old FC Twente and Dutch International striker Luuk de Jong.

Newcastle scouts have watched FC Twente many times of the last season, and one of their targets is the young striker.

The striker has scored 59 goals in 119 appearances for Twente over the last three seasons, since he signed for them from De Graafschap in 2009.

The transfer fee will most likely be around £7M, or maybe even higher than that but Alan Pardew is reported to have as much as £20M to spend on new players in the summer, and by Newcastle standards these days, that’s a lot.

Twente manager Steve McClaren does not expect to be able to keep his star striker if a suitable bid comes in for the player.

We now expect Demba Ba to leave Newcastle, and probably be headed to Tottenham, and we think if Newcastle can bring in Luuk de Jong for around £7M that would be a good buy and a very good replacement for the Senegal International.

Here’s some extended video of the youngster:

Get him. He scored goals last season and we need a handful of players who can find the Ne rather than 1 or 2. Even if ba doesn’t go we need another striker, not African or Muslim, to provide cover for Ramadan and ACON. So if it’s only to be 7 million which isn’t a lot these days we should get him. He’s young and can score goals. I’d also like to test man city on how much they wanna keep John guidetti if we can’t get this guy

Ed don’t assume Ba is leaving just because someone at our club was stupid enough to put a release clause in his contract.

And don’t assume he’s going to Spurs just because they “might” be interested.

A player like Ba wants succes and he is getting that here a Newcastle and why move sideway to a team like the Spurs? A player like Ba wants to move forward.

I don’t see him playing for the likes of Citeh, United, Chelsea or Arsenal, so if for some reason MA, DL and LC cannot find some common ground with Ba’s agent I don’t see why he should leave?

…but in football there is no guarantees!

[repost – because Ed’s too fast!]

Daniel Sturridge’s compensation package was about £6.5 after all the add-on (goals, international caps etc.).

The Professional Football Compensation Committee can award ANY fee as compensation…..so it could be a risk.

Then we should definitely stay clear of The Professional Football Compensation Committee; it seems they follow the same practice of overpricing British players 🙂 lol

If we can’t get Ba to relinquish his clause we will never get good money for him. It could only happen to us, but then again we did rob Liverpool of 36m!

benny Cisse marveux – front 3 has to be the way to go with our ball players. I don’t think playing another striker up with Cisse really works all that often. Someone like Bost would just mean back to hoof ball

Is anyone genuinely to bothered about losing ba? He doesn’t fit into the current 4321 / 433 formation and has looked out of sorts since the ACoN. A de Jong would probably have to play central rather than out wide too meaning you would have to push cisse out left… I think perhaps you might see a more left sided player come in instead.

official word from Mbiwa agent. Gutted.

Newcastle were reported to be leading the chase for the highly-rated 23-year-old but he has now admitted that Yanga-Mbiwa is unlikely to head to the Premier League.

“We haven’t talked to Newcastle,” his agent Tim Hagar told The Journal.

“It is not true that there has been an approach and he won’t go to Newcastle. I don’t know where he will be going but we have interested clubs in Germany.

“I think he will go to Germany – I don’t know why Newcastle haven’t followed up their interest.”
    ————

why aren’t we not following up on Mbiwa? he’s pure quality unless we are eyeing Alderwireld.

Anyone putting a £ 7 mil release clause in Ba’s contract is a dumass 😉 If he was crooked and his knee broke down why do we need a release clause? and if he went on to score lets say 15 goals for us 🙂 then surely if a release clause was needed it should have been higher than £ 7 mil.

    To quote Forrest Gump:

    Stupid is what stupid does.

It’s not entirely on Ba if he leaves and leaves for another PL club now is it?

Ba has never settled at any of his clubs, he is always on the move. Not sure if it is him or his agent but at the end of the day he has final say. He went on strike to get his move to west ham so has no loyalty in the past.

If he goes we haven’t made a loss and he has done a good job this year.

We need to be lookin to another striker anyway as the ACON is every two years.

Only if Ba leaves do we need to sign Luuk de Jong. That’s a big ONLY. If Ba stays or not (i hope and think he may) then we should sign for sure Hoilett and Hueng Min Son but only de Jong if Ba leaves!

De Jong is likely only to be second fiddle to cisse and probably won’t get a game in the current formation even if ba goes. Simple really.

Good in the air, makes great runs, good interplay, takes risks…. reminds me of m.owen before he left liverpool (dont kill me for that, he does….)

for £7m, I can well imagine him coming in as a replacement for best and lovenkrands, as well as another striker… (unfortunately, I can see us losing ba… probably to PSG)

keep thinking that he and Cisse up front would be fairly lethal!

    Further:

Keeping in mind that Ba and Cisse will be gone in Feb again for the ACON – that’ll leave us with Shola and (as it stands at the mo….) Best upfront… playing in 4 competitions… whether Ba stays or goes, we need another striker – this lad’s of perfect age – won’t come in demanding guaranteed starts or to play every game, he’ll train and learn and get introduced gradually…

The more I think about it the more I conclude: cracking signing if we can snag him.

Get your facts right before calling a Newcastle Legend an idiot.

KK- Took a club on its knees to the top playing the best football ever seen throughout the country.

KK- Was the catalyst behind turning a broken down stadium into on of the best in the world.

KK- Was asked to manage again by MA after BSA had us heading downward and yet again got us playing decent football.

    FACT

    1) When KK left the first time it was because SJH wanted his money back and floated the club on the stock market,KK was shown a contract by a southern based lawyer, told to sign now or leave,KK being a man of principle refused to sign and left.

2)KK- 2nd time he left – Told to manage a team where he could not choose his own players to buy ie,Cisco,Gonzales-Proven correct in the court of law.

For you to come out and try to backup your stupid assumptions and your obviously have a problem with a Newcastle Legend shows to me 1) You are too young to remember the Keegan years or 2) You have never saw a Keegan match in your life.

Shame on you and other so called Newcastle fans who would dare to try and blacken the legacy of a true Legend.

    Shame on you.
