Premier League’s Released Players – Any Suitable For Magpies?

The list of released player of Premier League clubs has just been announced.

Didier Drogba – contract has come to an end at Chelsea

Here is the list of players officially released form the twenty Premier League clubs, and there’s one or two big names on the list.

They include Michael Owen, the 32 year-old former Newcastle United striker,  who played just four times last season for the Red Devils, and just 21 times over the last two years.

Here’s the list:

Arsenal: Almunia, Brislen-Hall, Hoyte, McDermott, Murphy
Aston Villa: Caira, Cuellar, Heskey, Nelson-Addy, Taylor, Ward
Blackburn: Aley, Goulon, Grella, Knowles, Salgado
Bolton: Bennett, Blake, Connolly, S Davis, Eckersley, Fazlic, Gardner, Jaaskelainen, Klasnic, Knight, Obadeyi, Robinson, Steinsson
Chelsea: Bosingwa, Drogba, Kalou, Mitrovic, Taylor
Everton: Davies, Hahnemann, McFadden, Nsiala, Orenuga, Roberts
Fulham: Barroilhet, Cosgrove, Grygera, Harris, Johnson, Murphy, Pogrebnyak, B Riise
Liverpool: Amoo, Darby, Emilsson, Gomis, McGiveron, Roberts
Man City: Assulin, Benali, Hargreaves, Mancini, Nielsen, Taylor, Tse
Man Utd: Kuszczak, Owen
Newcastle: Adjei, Airey, Donaldson, Folan, Guthrie, Henderson, Kadar, Lovenkrands, McDermott, Nzuzi, Smith
Norwich: Ball, Dawkin, Whitbread, Wilbraham
QPR: Agyemang, Borrowdale, Buzsaky, Cerny, Cook, Gabbidon, Hall, Hill, Olley, Ramage, Shittu, Vine
Stoke: Davies, Diao, Fuller, Moult, Soares
Sunderland: Bagnall, Carson, Cook, Elliott, Gordon, King, Tounkara
Swansea: Bodde, Smith, Thomas, Walsh
Tottenham: Alnwick, Jansson, Lassen, Nelsen, Oyenuga, Ranieri, Saha
West Brom: Andrews, Downing, Edge, Elford-Alliyu, Fulop, Mattock, Scharner, Shorey, Tchoyi
Wigan: Breeze, Diame, Girvan, Gohouri, Myler, Pollitt, Robinson, Rodallega, Rugg, Thomas
Wolves: Craddock, Harris, Hemmings, Spray

We wonder why Junior Hoilett is not on the Blackburn list, since his contract ends on June 30th?

Newcastle list a lot of players, but most of them are from the Development squad, and six on the list have never played for the first team in a competitive game.

So are there any players in this list that is worth Newcastle taking a look at?

Remember we will not pay hefty wages for players past their best, like we used to under Freddy Shepherd, so that rules out players like Didier Drogba – sorry about that. 😀

Comments always welcome.

    Possibly

    – Bosingwa
    – Shorey (as cover)
    – Rodallega?
    – Diame

Drogba is either on a flight to China or reuniting with Jose.

    Transfer Sage,

And by the end of the transfer window, if we still haven’t signed Debuchy?

This honestly sounds like the whole Gervinho saga again.

In all honesty if Guthrie didn’t play for us at the moment he would be the most attractive prospect on that list.

I hope you are right aboutthe Debuchy transfer, but if im honest i gave in believing ‘insiders’ a long time ago. Newcastle keep their buisness under wraps and that is the best way.

No contacts that tell “friends” newcastles transfer dealings are actually not high up enough in Newcastle fc to officially comment, they just here rumors around the club. All newcastles transfer dealings will be between pardew Carr Ashley lambiass and carver and that’s all until there in the door signing a contract. Transfer sage don’t believe your “contacts” as theyl be speaking from gossip around the club and that’s all, so don’t embarrases yourself and be more modest towards your comments on transfers and that way peoe will appreciate your feeds

I’d take a pop at Jaaskelainen, we need experienced cover for Krul (someone that is well equipped to stand in whilst we’re in Europe). Pogrebnyak showed he could score goals last season, cheap and quality cover, great replacement for Lovenkrands and if Besty leaves. Gai Assulin was a Barca player tipped to be great, with games and confidence he could well forfill this (low risk free agent?)

And there are more than just those 4 in the loop….think of secretaries and PAs taking calls. I can say no more.

Discussions are on going as both parties are looking for the best deal.

Just wait and the announcement will be made thursday of next week.
