Who’s Next Through The Door At Newcastle?

10:13 am, Sunday, June 10th, 2012 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 96 Comments

Newcastle had signed four good players before June 18th rolled around last year.

Romain Amalfitano – one player through the door so far

The Magpies had brought in Yohan Cabaye in early June, and then on June 17th there was news of Newcastle signing both Demba Ba and Sylvain Marveaux, and the club had  already brought in young Mehdi Abeid from Lens on a free transfer earlier in the summer.

Newcastle have so far brought in 22 year-old Romain Amalfitano on a free transfer from French second division club Reims, but he’s the only one through the door at the moment.

And Newcastle have let Alan Smith, Peter Lovenkrands, Danny Guthrie and Tamas Kadar leave on free transfers, and so Newcastle will need to bring in up to four top players to replace them,  as well as to bolster the squad for the upcoming Europa League games.

We have been linked with Ajax midfielder/defender Anita this weekend, and were first linked with the Dutch International only three weeks ago, according to our records.

All we really know about Anita is what his agent Harry Lulofs has said, which is what he told the NUFCfans web-site:

“Newcastle have made an offer between £5-£10 million. I cannot give you the accurate figure, but Ajax have received a written offer.”   “They are very satisfied with the guy and want to keep him. Newcastle have been watching him for a long time and really want to sign him.”

“This is the first offer Ajax have received for Vurnon and we’ll soon see how they react.”  “The only other Premier League club to get in touch was Norwich.”  “Paul Lambert called me to ask about him Anita. Now he has moved to Aston Villa, so maybe they will be in touch. I don’t know.”

That started the news going on the player, but we have no idea how far along Newcastle really are in the negotiations, although this lad would look to be a decent buy, and he can play in a number of different positions, which has to be good.

It could be the transfers are delayed this year, because of the Euro 2012 Championships, which continue until July 1st, but there seems no reason why that should interfere with the transfer of Anita.

The 5’6″ Ajax player  made the provisional Dutch squad for Euro 2012, but was not included in the final Dutch squad of 23.

Newcastle are likely to bring in one center-back and a full back, but we’d be surprised if Anita is the only full-back that Newcastle bring in over the summer, especially if Danny Simpson leaves the club.

It would be nice to get another good player through the door soon, but it’s hard to know whether the Magpies are close to bringing Anita to the club.

What do you think?

Comments welcome.

    From Last Post

In all honesty if Hughton came in for Best, Williamson & Simpson with a £10M offer i’d definitely accept it as really they are the weak links of the squad. Cannot see Willo leaving because i think it’d be pretty difficult trying to bring in 2 new CBs with all the other targets (maybe save that for January or the 2013 Summer).

Simmo is definitely going and Best looks likely as well so it’s really how much Hughton wants them because Fulham & QPR can probably offer more than Norwich same as Celtic with Best (money wise of course as any footballer with any dignity would turn down a move to that Mickey Mouse league to stay in England).

I think though that a loan move for Vuckic to Norwich would be great as he’d start quite a lot of games there with Norwich playing him behind their CF and infront of Bradley Johnson and Matty Howson. We do have Amalfitano who can cover the CAM position.

Hopefully the Anita deal will be wrapped up nice and early next week. Then we can concentrate on bringing in a the much needed CB. Then maybe while everyone’s scouting player’s at the Euros we can sneakily snap up Hoilett on the cheap and another non ACON CF.

Then fully focus on bringing in Debuchy with several other full backs like Cissokho, Pieters & Rosales in back up if we miss out as apparently Inter, Real & Man Utd all have looked at Debuchy but not with as great an interest as us!

  • 3 only magpie of nepal // Jun 10, 2012 at 10:29 AM

We should be doing following deals:
    1. Anita – Ajax (£6.5m aprox)
    2. De Jong – Twente (£8m) + add ons
    3. Mbiwa – Montpelliee (£5.5m)
    4. Douglous – Twente (£6m)
    5. Debuchy – Lille (£5 m)
    7. Pieters – Twente (£5 m)
    8. A Backup GK (for about £1 to 2 million)
    Total = £37million (approx)

    1. Simpson – £4 to 5 m
    2. Froster – £2 to 3 m
    3. Best – £2m
    4. Willo – £2m
    5. Xisco – £1m (Deportivo are willing to take him for cheap)
    Total = £11 to 13 million

That means net spent wud be around £25 million. According to remours there is about £20m for Pardew. And remaining £5m can be recovered from good European campaign and our squad wud be far more stronger to challenge top 4 next season.

What’s the best football manager game on the market. I always thought that fm was the best but have seen pple on here commenting on fifa. I don’t suppose that’s fifa12 do they have a manager sim out aswell

  • 6 blew // Jun 10, 2012 at 10:35 AM

Height in the Premiership is a must in defence, additionally the Toon need heading ability, I cant see a 5ft 6ins player useful in these requirements.

    Only Magpie of Nepal

I’m usually the one who makes ridiculous outlines to who we should sign but even I think your list is stupid. Firstly some of your price tags for players are wrong as Debuchy is valued at £6.5M & Pieters is £6M etc. & secondly we will not sign that many players as why an earth do we need two more full backs only one needed as Simmo’s replacement, Willo is very unlikely to leave and we will not sign two high profile CBs such as Mbiwa & Douglas who will both want starts but could both find themselves as bench warmers also a new keeper is not needed as Elliot is decent enough back up & Alnwick has got a bright future ahead of him.

  • 8 only magpie of nepal // Jun 10, 2012 at 10:38 AM

Apparently Douglous has 1 year extension clause in his current contract which can be activated by his club Twente.

  • 9 only magpie of nepal // Jun 10, 2012 at 10:41 AM

I know we can end without signing any of these listed players and even start next season with both Simpson and Willo in the starting line ups.
But u know it is always fun predicting the summer signings and making the fantasy transfers in the blog.
    Isn’t it?

  • 10 ENGLISH PLAYERS 4 TOON // Jun 10, 2012 at 10:41 AM

@ Nepal – I would hate to see pieters at newcastle, poor player at the best of times. Forster Should Stay.

    Ross Barkley
    Michael Mancienne?
    Jacob Butterfield

Jeffery Bruma – unsettled at Chelsea, Dutch and a sure star for the future

  • 11 SupaToonKid // Jun 10, 2012 at 10:45 AM

FIFA Manager is much worse than Football Manager. I bought it as it was supposedly better according to reviews on Amazon + it was some special deal but for real even on easy mode it’s too hard and less realistic FM so stick to Football Manager!

It’s not like we’re signing Anita for CB or a target man. He’s a CDM/LB so not exactly a desperate need for full backs to be tall also Claude Makelele (one of the greatest ever CDMs) is only 5’7″ do height is a not the issue more is he good enough and from what I’ve heard/seen & how he is rated highly in a very competitive Ajax squad and has international caps shows he is a player who could add something to the 1st XI

  • 12 SupaToonKid // Jun 10, 2012 at 10:49 AM

    Only Magpie of Nepal

It’s fun but it’s also fun to debate why we should sign different players as we all have different opinions and I don’t think we need a new GK, and we only need 1 new FB & 1 new CB not 2 of each.

  • 13 lee1892 // Jun 10, 2012 at 10:51 AM

I dont believe that we are in for Anita. When we have been after all the players we have getting in, when have we known about it beforehand? Never, we only ever hear when its done. When newastle are after players they tell the other team/agents to keep it confidential so dont believe we are after him.

  • 14 only magpie of nepal // Jun 10, 2012 at 10:52 AM

All the players u have listed have great potentials and surely the future stars. We can surely sign Butterfield but do u think Spurs will let Caulker leave? I wud love to see Clyne but Man U running behind him.
Bruma was at Hamburg on loan last season and they are willing to sign him.
I don’t think Mancienne wud be sold but may be we can get Barkley. Great lad and future England star but doubt Everton will let him go.
    What do u say????????

  • 15 only magpie of nepal // Jun 10, 2012 at 10:56 AM

We wud need New keeper becoz Froster is off to Celtic/QPR and Harper is considering to go out on loan. Soderberg has already joined new club and Alnwick is not ready for first team. that will only leave Kurl and Elliot.

  • 16 seantoon // Jun 10, 2012 at 10:56 AM

Let’s get in there for this Charly Musonda age 15 before Chelsea get him.

  • 17 Beattie25 // Jun 10, 2012 at 10:57 AM

I’m expecting big things on July 1st.

Whomever we sign I think we will all agree that if we haven’t concluded our business before August it’ll be a massive disappointment because every day that the window looms the fees get higher and higher.

Our policy of not signing anyone unless it’s the right price will backfire time and time again on deadline day.

    Here’s hoping something happens soon.

  • 23 Ketsbaia9 // Jun 10, 2012 at 11:11 AM

Don’t rate Pieters. We need to sign Cissokho or a player in the mould of Evra/Santon.

  • 27 petey // Jun 10, 2012 at 11:30 AM

i reckon luciano narsingh from heerenveen would be a quality signing. Young and fast. good cover for ben arfa or Ba whichever side he is needed on.
    Ola John looks good too.

Otherwise i wouldn’t complain if we signed some more English players like….keeping hold of guthrie is pretty important i reckon especially with all the games next season

  • 28 Ketsbaia9 // Jun 10, 2012 at 11:30 AM

I’m sure we can get it down to £6.5m. Some other paper quoted 9 Million Euros. There’s no way that Liverpool would sign Cissokho, unless they are selling Enrique. The only realistic link is with us as we need a left-back. Pieters has been injured 3/4 times this season. That will rule him out. I’d be willing to start Marveaux next season. Top class player. Hopefully him and Santon will make the next world cup.

  • 29 Beardo // Jun 10, 2012 at 11:36 AM

Nathaniel Clyne – potential to be the next Danny Simpson!

Caulker – could be the next Scott Dann

Barkley – all the ingredients to be as good as Rory Delap.

Spurs will demand more than 10 mill for Caulker, U can forget about him.

Nathaniel Clyne is a possibility as he is on a free, so wouldn’t mind him.

Barkley will be the same as Caulker, I mean if U say he is going to be a future star, dnt U think professional coaches ar Everton haven’t seen his potential??
I’m afraid he is out of our price range, unless Ofcourse he is on a free like Nathaniel.

  • 36 dmac // Jun 10, 2012 at 11:48 AM

I agree petey it seems a strange one to me. If he could stay fit for a full season i see no reason why Guths couldnt push for an england spot.
He would have gotten more playing time this season, with us being in more competitions. My only hope is he was allowed to leave as we have others coming in.

  • 37 Beattie25 // Jun 10, 2012 at 11:48 AM

    Kyriakos Papadopolous

Now that would be an amazing signing. 20 years old, big, powerful an scores a few as well.

    English players for toon

Narrow minded, unintelligent and stinking of nationalism.

That’s just your name. I understand the need for good English players but there simply isn’t any available when the continent is cheaper and better.

If you want a totally English team then go and support the bnp u-12 schoolgirls.

I don’t mind which country they come from if it means success.

Beardo back me up honey! Oh no I didn’t

  • 41 dmac // Jun 10, 2012 at 11:55 AM

I’d take Kjaer he looks immense. He had Rvp in his back pocket all game.

As for Kagawa i have mixed feelings. He looks very good but people said that about Hidetoshi Nakata and he hardly set the world alight. Japanese players rarely seem to stick around.

  • 42 AsprillaCartWheels // Jun 10, 2012 at 11:56 AM

The club are being run like fm! (I do anyways) Sell them players to overpriced bidders, scoured the globe for freebies/regens/bargains. Sure we will balance the books but there’s no guaranteed of a success if we can’t hold on to our players in real life and why isnt the academy producing enough quality players? All this talk of transfers sure bring about new optimistism.

  • 43 dmac // Jun 10, 2012 at 11:59 AM

Dortmund sell for ridic profits and rebuild and they seem to be doing pretty good.

  • 44 petey // Jun 10, 2012 at 12:00 PM

wont we all have to sign more english players soon with this whole homegrown rule or something? havent looked into that yet i must admit…

Rakitic is another one i rate….keep an eye on him for croatia tonight if he plays…not that the toon would sign him as he just signed for a team in spain i think but just one to keep an eye on for fun

  • 45 FatmanJoe // Jun 10, 2012 at 12:06 PM

Homegrown doesn’t necessarily mean English. For example, if a player joined the club before he was 16 then the nationality doesn’t matter. I think or example Vuckic counts as one of our homegrown lot. I think that’s why we’re looking in Europe for young development players to add to our homegrown squad.

  • 46 Beattie25 // Jun 10, 2012 at 12:07 PM

To be fair Dortmunds success is only recent.

They nearly got relegated, were in mid table obscurity and found good youngsters to propel them into the top places.

To say they have sold and rebuilt and continued their success is totally incorrect.

    Auf weidersen

@beattie i have your back sister.
English players are generally overpriced overpaid and overrated.
The players he listed are all supposed to be top prospects but that means virtually nowt. So many do not live up to potential.
Bentley, Michael Johnson, downing, Glenn Johnson, Phil bardsley.
All were seen as top young players. Which would you sign now?

  • 52 Beattie25 // Jun 10, 2012 at 12:14 PM

    Home grown players

GK – Krul, Harper & Elliot
DF – Raylor, Perch, Willo & Fergie
MD – Sammy, Vuckic & Gosling
    CF – Ameobi

That’s 11 without Best and Simmo (sure I missed someone!)

MA and crew keep their targets secret.
Confidentiality is agreed as soon as they start to negotiate.
Other clubs, having seen our successful scouting, will jump in and make offers for anyone we seem to be interested in.
So – I know, let’s have some details of players we are NOT chasing leak out, just to divert attention of other clubs from our real targets.

You need 8 homegrown in your squad.

We have a few younger players that will be considered hg by the time they come of age. We’re in quite a healthy position for this. And I think it’s gonna be a massive push as well in the next couple of years so we’re only going to get better.

  • 60 geordie157 // Jun 10, 2012 at 12:26 PM

Ranger will be gone though. Or should go. He might appear angelic for a season or so but he’ll get bored and do something stupid again eventually.

The only way we’re in trouble with the hg rule is if we sell best willo and Simpson. Which is why I don’t think it’ll happen. Simpson yes and maybe best but not willo too.

  • 65 MagpiesFlyHigh // Jun 10, 2012 at 12:36 PM

English players – waste of money unless homegrown through the Toon development programme. Much as I loved KK he really did put us back ten years in this respect.

Add £3-5m per player and £20k per week for every English player you sign and it works out at £4-6m a year more expensive. How much would you pay for Simmo if he was French or Dutch ?

  • 66 geordie157 // Jun 10, 2012 at 12:38 PM

I agree with the earlier comments that Willo would probably be sold next Jan. Gives us time to get one CB in this summer then line up another for the following window. Despite English players being over priced, if Clyne was say 3-4mill and Grant Hanley 4-6mill i would like to think they’d be on our list of targets. Alot of people rave about Zaha but i haven’t seen much of, guessing he’s a bit like Moses

  • 67 FatmanJoe // Jun 10, 2012 at 12:42 PM

I don’t see the point in selling best or willo really. Decent squad players with small wages and good attitudes. Theyre constantly doing publicity and charity work for the club. I don’t think getting 4m is actually that important when they work so hard on and off the field.

  • 68 Ketsbaia9 // Jun 10, 2012 at 12:44 PM

Yeah, we’re wasting our time trying to sign English players. We need to sign anything but English. The only English players that I’d take would be Micah Richards and Adam Johnson. They should also have been in the England starting 11. We can’t compare Clyne with Danny Simpson. Simpson is probably the worst defender in the league. Clyne looks miles better. Clyne could be the new Micah Richards though.

  • 69 FatmanJoe // Jun 10, 2012 at 12:45 PM

    Worst defender in the league?!

    Don’t be an idiot.

  • 70 geordie157 // Jun 10, 2012 at 12:58 PM

Simpson is probably in the top 10 Prem right backs, he gets a lot of stick and for us to progress he does need to be replaced, but he probably saved us as many points as he cost us last season.

If Corluka wasn’t on huge wages i’d say he’d be a very solid player to bring in.

  • 74 FatmanJoe // Jun 10, 2012 at 1:39 PM

Don’t say idiotic things like that then.

  • 75 Ketsbaia9 // Jun 10, 2012 at 2:04 PM

What’s wrong with that? Everyone’s entitled to their own opinions. I’m sure the majority of NUFC will agree with me too. Why didn’t Blackburn turn his loan deal into a permanent one? Why did Man United get rid of him?

He’ll be leaving anyway and I’d be over the moon if we can get £3m for him.

Also, all this Debuchy talk is ridiculous. We DON’T need a right-back. We’re desperate for a left-footed left-back as it looks like Santon will be playing at right-back for us next season.

  • 76 danmuamua // Jun 10, 2012 at 2:14 PM

I personally think Anita is not what we need. He may be versatile, young and a great prospect but he is to small for a midfield which lacks height and is also to similar to tiote. If we are looking to strengthen the middle of the park I would love to see us try and bring in Rasmus Elm or Sigudsson. Both players will add goals, creativity, hight and balance to the team. Cabaye is a great player but I don’t see him getting more that 7 goals per season.

As for centre backs I’m sick of hearing about Douglas. He would be a top centre back in Italy but he would make the grade in England. He lacks speed and the technical ability that is now needed in top premier league centre halfs. I think we can kiss goodbye to Mbiwa who would be my first choice but Kjaer is equally as good and is a realistic target with him promising to never play for his club again under the current management.

As for full backs it’s no secret Santon is a right back but he is equally as capable at left back and I personally would like to see us bring in Debuchy. He is top class and a winner which is so important to our team. If Debuchy is not available we should look at Sime Vrsaljko who looks to be a player with world class ability.

Wingers are an issue that is never mentioned on this page for some strange reason. Ben Arfa is world class , enough said and Jonas is a great squad player but offers very little going forward which is so often excused because of his great work rate. Everyone is getting a little carried away with Marveaux, he had one good half against everyone and some fans seem to think he will be nominated for the ballon D’or alongside Messi and Ronaldo. I don’t see him being anything other than an average squad player. As for Obertan and Ameobi the less said the better. Obertan will never “come good” because he is an average player who is very lucky to be playing in the premier league. Yes he is quick but so is ussain bolt and I wouldn’t fancy seeing him on our right wing. He will have another poor season and hopefully he will be shipped out next summer. Ameobi needs to go out on loan just so he isn’t taking up space on our bench. Hopefully we can produce better talent over the next few years than Ameobi and Ferguson who will never make it at the top. I’m sure pardew will have already looked at both of these players but I would love to see him bring in Barnetta and Hoilett who are both top premier league players and even better are both out of contract. Compensation needs to be agreed for Hoilett as he is under 24 but I think you could get him and Barnetta for 5 million.

That leaves you with a striker and I agree with most that De Jong is a must but I don’t see it happening as he will cost at least 10 but he would be worth every penny but if we were paying that money I think I would rather Giroud. That would leave us with Ba, Cisse, Benny, Barnetta, Hoilett, De Jong or Giroud as our attacking options.

I obviously don’t see this happening but you can only dream

    Simon Kjaer- 5million
    Debuchy- 6 million
    Rasmus Elm- 5 million
    Barnetta- free
    Hoilett – 4 million compensation
De Jong or Giroud for 10 million.

That would obviously take our spending to 30 million but with 20 million apparently available you could quite easily raise the other 10 million from player sales and with those players coming through the door the inevitable sale of Ba wouldn’t really matter an aweful lot. I would personally sell Simpson, Williamson, Foster, Gosling, Best, Xisco and Ranger and you would think you could raise 10 million from this sales

So you think because Blackburn didn’t buy him he’s the worst defender in the league? Not doing yourself any favours with that argument.

How can a player who was an almost ever-present in a side that finished 5th be considered as even a candidate for worst defender in the league? Worse than the relegated defenders then? Worse than the defenders who just avoided the drop?! Worse than the mackams defenders?

You’re right – everyone is entitled to their opinion. You’re not changing my mind tho.

  • 78 Ketsbaia9 // Jun 10, 2012 at 3:01 PM

Yeah, I agree with most of the things that you are saying danmuamua. I’d rather have Stearman, Steinsson and Bradley Orr. I also think Emerson Boyce would be a decent signing. He was awesome for Wigan towards the end of the season.

If we would’ve had Raylor ever present in the side at right-back and if Steven Taylor wouldn’t have got injured, we would’ve finished 3rd.

Yeah, I’d sell the above, however, I’d give Best, Xisco and Ranger a chance in the pre-season friendly’s

  • 79 gfp13 // Jun 10, 2012 at 3:05 PM

You can’t see cabaye getting more than 7 goals per season? Didn’t he score 15 in his last season with Lille? I may be wrong and if I am I apologise but I’m pretty sure he did

  • 80 danmuamua // Jun 10, 2012 at 3:17 PM

For Lille cabaye player 191 times and scored 31 between 2004-2011 which averages 5 per season. That is in the French league. He is world class at what he does but he will never be the man to rely on for goals and it’s so important to have the man in the middle of the park who will get goals.

Ketsbaia you are a funny guy.

  • 81 ToonUnited // Jun 10, 2012 at 3:34 PM

Think we really need a decent back up keeper as Harper is getting on a bit, Elliot isn’t REALLY a top flight keeper and our youth prospects aren’t ready yet… definitely need more defenders though and one or two utility players wouldn’t go amiss?

  • 82 FatmanJoe // Jun 10, 2012 at 3:58 PM

I agree about the keeper definitely. I dOn’t kno enough about Elliot and that’s a problem isn’t it? Can’t have an unknown player playing as backup next season.

Two defenders are a must and two attackers/ strikers – preferably one that can play as a winger too.

That’s if no one leaves. We start losing the players that have been mentioned then those holes need plugging.

I think raylor is a decent player but it’s not likely we would have finished third with him instead of Simpson. I think saylor could have made a difference though.

  • 83 Ketsbaia9 // Jun 10, 2012 at 4:14 PM

Yeah, and that man will hopefully be Marvin Martin. £8m will be a real coup. We definitely wouldn’t have lost to Arsenal if Raylor was playing at right-back and we wouldn’t have lost so severely to team’s like Everton, Fulham and Tottenham if Saylor and Raylor were playing. The draw’s against Wolves and Sunderland could’ve been wins if Williamson wasn’t playing.

So, overall, we should’ve had about 8 points more. And don’t stick up for Simpson with his goal-line clearances. He offers absolutely nothing in terms of been influential within the team. I don’t think he’s had one good game for us. His goal against Forest was a cross. His distribution of the ball is pathetic. I’ve even witnessed players like Leon Best and Obertan criticising him.

  • 84 FatmanJoe // Jun 10, 2012 at 4:26 PM

You’re actually now making stuff up. How can you say we wouldn’t have lost to a team if so and so was playing? It’s make believe, pretend – guessing! How come raylor is suddenly this player that can stop arsenal? Where’s that come from? I agree I think he’s decent but you can’t just pluck figures from thin air and say something would have happened! That’s what makes football so great, it’s unpredictable nature!!

    You’re talking nonsense.

  • 85 Ketsbaia9 // Jun 10, 2012 at 4:54 PM

Just think Raylor’s a much better footballer than Simpson. He also chips in with some decent goals and assists. He would’ve been a big difference. Pardew made 2 mistakes last season. 1 was playing Simpson and Williamson and 2 was not signing a centre-back and a left-back in january. We need to build a quality team over the summer and try to achieve a top 4 finish next season.

  • 86 FatmanJoe // Jun 10, 2012 at 5:11 PM

So against arsenal your backline would have been raylor, colo, santon and who?

  • 87 Ketsbaia9 // Jun 10, 2012 at 5:22 PM

I would’ve played 3-6-1 with Tiote and Abeid playing as defensive midfielders. Something like this:

    Raylor Coloccini Santon

    Tiote Abeid

    Ben Arfa Cabaye Gutierrez

  • 88 FatmanJoe // Jun 10, 2012 at 5:26 PM

I’m so glad pardew picks the team.

  • 89 Ketsbaia9 // Jun 10, 2012 at 6:56 PM

He’s made a few errors. Ben Arfa should have started more earlier on in the season. Also, Marveaux should’ve been playing instead of Obertan last year. I’m a big fan of Medhi Abeid and expect him to be utilised more next season. We do need an attacking midfielder though.

  • 90 gfp13 // Jun 10, 2012 at 7:31 PM

It was his second last season sorry. He got 15 goals. 13 of which in the league. He can score goals if freed up a bit more but for us he was required to be back and forward, back and forward every game. If tiote is kept and another holding cm is signed, Anita maybe, he could be the man to get goals. Height is not needed in cm if you have good enough players

Ben arfa was handled superbly and his progress is due to how well pardew man managed him.

You don’t change a winning team and when marveux did get a start he was injured. Pardew made the right call there too.

With abeid time will tell. It’s asking a lot for him to come in and instantly get into the starting line up. Especially in that strange formation.

  • 93 danmuamua // Jun 10, 2012 at 8:47 PM

Ketsbaia you talk utter shite mate

  • 94 Ketsbaia9 // Jun 10, 2012 at 8:58 PM

Well, if people took note of my recommendations, I guarantee that we’ll do extremely well next season. I’d be surprised if we make a bid to sign Debuchy. Although, he is a good player, he is not really needed at this club.

  • 95 FatmanJoe // Jun 10, 2012 at 9:04 PM

If we took your recommendations we would have only ten players in our starting line up and definately would not be doing very well.

And three in defence? Yeah coz that works at…hmm… I can’t think of a team whereby that is used regularly to good effect.

You’re also too narrow and having two dm in one team is massively negative, no goals from that midfield.

    So mostly, rubbish.

  • 96 Ketsbaia9 // Jun 10, 2012 at 10:13 PM

Yeah, but you need to take into consideration that was my suggestion away from home against Arsenal last season. Cabaye will also be more attacking with my formation. I am hoping for this team next season:

    Santon Coloccini Vertonghen Cissokho

Ben Arfa Tiote Marvin Martin/Cabaye Marveaux

    Cisse Ba/Giroud
