Ba Thanks Newcastle Fans Via YouTube Video

Demba Ba has given an interview on YouTube last night, and in it he thanks the Newcastle fans for their support of him last season.

Demba Ba – thanks Newcastle fans

And we wonder if that’s a parting thank you because he is leaving the club, but it looks like Newcastle have no idea who is representing the player, and his move away from Newcastle could be complicate.

In the same way Newcastle have lost interest in FC Twente center-back Douglas many different representatives and their demands, then maybe other clubs will tire of having to deal with the many agents who say the represent the Senegal striker.

Demba Ba talked about last season, but didn’t delve into his situation this summer in the transfer market, with that now famous £7M release clause in his contract.

This is some of what he said:

“The season has been very good for the whole club, the whole city and for me personally I had a very good season.” “I scored 16 goals in half a season – plus we play in the Europa League next season so we’re very happy.”

“We were there at the end, fifth place and the Europa League – it’s amazing.” “These fans are just amazing. Some of the best fans I’ve seen so far and one of the best stadiums I’ve played in. I just want to thank them for the season.”

“The second half of the season was less prolific for me because I was put on the left wing. We won a lot of games like this and everybody was very happy,” he said. “I am very happy with the people I am playing with, with the national team and Newcastle.

“They are two groups of people I like being with outside of football. Yohan and Hatem are two people I like being with outside of football.”

Ba’s brother Hamady on his Twitter account, drew attention to the new video, and he is just one of the agents who have said they represent the Newcastle striker.

Here is the video, and Ba seems very complimentary to everything at Newcastle, and it’s a very good video as Demba Ba reflects on his first season at Newcastle – and hopefully not his last.

Ba said that Sow and Dia are his best mates in national team… both play in Turkey. Not for Galatasaray but in other team from Istanbul.

Unless we can remove this clause I don’t think keeping BA is tenable, as we will always be kowtowing to his agents, something I’m sure Ashley will not entertain. It’s gone on long enough and needs to be resoled one way or the other.

Either remove the clause and rotate him and Cisse in a front 3 in between benny and Marveux or get rid.

Although Debuchy is on a different planet to Simpson, 8M for a nearly 27 year old is a difficult one to call.

If you leave for Turkey Ba, your fucking stupid, 9th best league in Europe and a top 2 team or a top 6 team for years to come in the best League. Cabaye, Ben Arfa gave up the champions of the 5th best league for a team tipped to be relegation contenders by many but I said we will get top 6, everyone laughed, who’s laughing now?

Swap him for Gameiro of PSG??
That way the clause is rendered useless and we make more than 3m for it?

Hard one, he was asked what he thought of the fans so maybe he was taking the opportunity to say how good they are this season or it may be he is on his way out. He says he’s really good friends with Moussa Sow at Fenerbahce so who know’s, Turkey might not be that much of an unlikely destination for Ba. But I think the press are reading between the lines, he was asked about the fans and he answered with what he thought of them. He’s such a likeable character and with confidence he’s unreal so let’s hope he stays. I hear the likes of Chelsea are in for Debuchy now, let’s hope Cabaye is doing his best at convincing Debuchy to come here :P, after all we do have Papiss Cisse!

Ben Arfa, like for like swap deal but considering Gameiro decided to go to PSG over us, and the fact his goal to game ratio there isn’t the best I wouldn’t want him. What about Giroud? I know Arsenal want him but they just signed Podolski, from what I saw when he came on for France in the last two games he can head the ball fairly well, physically he’s strong and tall and is only 24? Maybe a hefty offer would have to be put in but he looks fairly decent!

    ben Arfa,

swapping him with gameiro would solve a lot of problems but I don’t think gameiro or erdinc ever really wanted to come here before, in fact I’m sure they didn’t / don’t.

    Good article Indian.

I think debuchy will not be too expensive. He looks an improvement on Simmo but has been beaten a fair few times in the opening two games by England and ukrain wide men. Although he does look good going forward.

Think so far his value will be similar as to when the tournament started. Hopefully we can get a deal tied up soon so he has a ore season with the squad

He says “we will play in Europa League next season” which suggests he will be staying.

If he stays, great, if he goes it seems it will be down to a mixture of the stupid clause and pressure from his agents who will make a load of money from a new transfer. Any team getting him so cheap will be able to offset the fee with a huge signing on fee where the agents will make a fortune. That, unfortunately, is how it works these days and it seems that players have very little say!

I can’t believe how fickle some so called ‘fans’ ^^^^^ actually are! :/

To be fair guys, all this chat about Ba, his release clause and how he’s moving to Turkey….it’s ‘unBAlievable’, I cannot wait til the start of August (when the release clause doesn’t have an effect?)……just thought I’d lighten the mood with a play on words.

Although I like Ba and want him to stay, he is a mercenary, there is nothing wrong with that though, it’s not like he was born and raised in Newcastle.

And to say players have no say is redicilous. The agent is employe by the player, if they do not like their input they can sack them an have somebody else represent them. They don’t have to sign contracts with other sides. It is entirely the players decision, the agent just tries to influence them.

Its left absolutely no clearer whether he’ll stay or go.. no point in him making this video, he says ‘we play in th europa league next season’ implying he’s part of the team then he says we’re some og the beat fans hes seen ‘so far’ implying he might see better ones in pastures new. Maybe I’m reading too much into this but i just want an answer one way or the other, and he doesn’t say he’s staying here he just thanks the fans.. which may be a goodbye?

Dzagoev or Mandzukic would slot nicely on the wing for us if demba did decide to go. Would need to get in there quick though because there prices will be going up by a million every game they play at the euros. Am sure dzagoev is available on a free though

Cant see Ba passing a medical so believe he will stay which is not a bad thing, sods law that one of our strikers will get injured during the season so is good to have back-up.

Still need a young striker who can cover when the ACN are on though.

Can’t see us going for Huntelaar. We tend to go for up and coming players rather than established ones nowadays. De Jong maybe – or someone nobody has twigged.

I never thought Douglas was a target for us.

The Euros are complicating the timing of transfers this window and we’ve just got to drool on a bit longer before we get any solid news.

We read far too much into entirely innocent comments in interviews. If Ba is pals with Benny and Yohan great – doesn’t mean he doesn’t get on with Cisse.

Unrelated but dzagoev’s contract runs out in December. Whether it would be poasuble to talk to him next month and agree a deal for him to come in january ob a free or get hin cut price now, interest is high though. And mandzukic is attracting interest from everton, spuds and the bin dippers, free, 26, doable..

If Ba goes, so be it.
For what we paid for him (in signing on fees) plus his salary, we’ve had good value for money.

There was a doubt about his knee, so we wanted to limit our potential loss.
Goes without saying that a contract limiting our potential loss must also limit our potential gain.
    Can’t blame Ba’s agent(s) for ensuring that.
