Newcastle Growing Confident Of Keeping Demba Ba

Newcastle are becoming more confident that they can keep Demba Ba on Tyneside this summer.

Demba Ba – senior sources at club confident of keeping the striker

That’s according to the Newcastle Journal this morning, which is reporting that senior sources at Newcastle are claiming the striker is going nowhere this summer.

That would be great news for Newcastle fans, because Ba has shown he is a first class striker, and also seems to like things at Newcastle, and of course scoring 16 goals in his first full season in the Premier League is no mean feat.

Ba has been offered around Europe by his many different agents, and that’s because they are trying to get a deal done,  so they can make some money, but exactly what Demba Ba wants to do remains uncertain.

Spurs wanted Demba Ba while Harry Redknapp was manager, but until they appoint someone to replace Harry, nothing much will happen from them in the transfer market.

Turkish Champions Galatasaray have said they will not be signing the player, and seemed to be put off by his wage demands, at least according to some reports.

Pre-season training starts at Newcastle two weeks tomorrow, and the Senegal striker has told his people he wants his situation sorted out by then, and of course if the news is to be believed, the release clause in his contract of £7M, is supposed to end at the end of July.

But nothing much has been done in the transfer market by any club so far this summer, and until the Euro 2012 Championships end a week on Sunday, we don’t expect too much to be happening.

It seems that the transfer market will be in full swing only when July rolls around.

For what it’s worth, come the big kick off, I hope he is still our player.

I think we’ll keep him. Having him, Cisse and De Jong, f*cking lethal. Let’s hope he rediscovers his form next season!

Would sooner keep him than lose him, but either way I’m confident we will have a stronger team come August than we did in May!!

I’m fully behind playing 433 but I can’t really see how with the possible addition of De Jong we could play that formation regularly with Demba doing a great job, albeit a reluctant one on the left side. Unless Pardew wants to alternate between 433 and 442 for some variety as he was doing towards the end of the season which is probably what will happen.

This information by the Journal came from a senior United source, which in reality means it was an invention from someone and has no credence whatsoever

Lewy – what a crap article in fact it should have ‘advertisement feature’ above the title. For ‘top agent’ read worried greedy leech trying to rally his cronies to digging their heels in for a big payout. I’m pretty confident MA and crew will laugh this sort of talk off.

Newcastle have apparently made enquiries about taking joe cole on loan, find it a strange one really, why would we need him? not the type of player we normally go for, I dont think newcastle want de jong to replace ba, we need 3 top strikers if we are in europe, and plus ba and cisse go to ACN, I think we will also sign jacob butterfield from barnsley, as a useful squad player, we have cleared alot of wages in guthrie, lovo and smith, and i think we will offload best and xisco also, so we will have spare money, i think we will also sell either tiote or ben arfa
