Dutch Target Wants Move To Newcastle

As we reported yesterday it seems that Dutch Champions Ajax are keen on Newcastle coming back in with an improved offer for their 23 year-old Vurnun Anita. And the new news today is not surprising , it’s that Vernun is keen on a move to Tyneside.

Vurnon Anita – wants move to Tyenside

And we say that’s not surprising because Newcastle’s star in Europe has been rising over the last two years, and especially last year when the lads finished 5th in the league, and beat teams like Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool in the league.

Newcastle went in with what we thought was a decent bid of €5M, which is £4M, but Ajax are now hoping that Newcastle will return with an improved offer.

And in the psychology of transfer bids, that will tell Newcastle that Ajax are keen on selling their player, so perhaps Newcastle could get the player for a little bit of an increase on that price.

But it seems that Newcastle are now starting to put in bids for their top targets with a 4m bid turned down by Lille, and an £8M bid turned down by FC Twente for their 21 year-old striker Luuk de Jong.

But the news today is that Newcastle have gone back in for de Jong with an improved £10M offer.

And Vurnon Anita’s agent Harry Lulofs told Ajax Life that a second Newcastle bid is expected:.

“The first bid, which was a written bid, is a sign that Newcastle are interested and I expect the club will make a second bid.”

“Newcastle recently submitted a bid of €5M to Ajax, who did not agree with that transfer fee”. “Vurnon is open to Newcastle. He finds it a nice, big club.”

“Players who perform well at Newcastle are a step nearer the top clubs in the Premier League.”

Of course you have to take whatever an agent says with a pinch of salt, because he is trying to make the deal for his client.

But it’s good that Anita seems to want  to come to Newcastle.

What do you think?

Not too much fun being a stepping stone.

I don’t mind if the player wants to be here or not as long as he gives his all for the club that’s the main thing.

Obviously it’s better if he see us as a good club to be at and not a stepping stone but either way as long as they play 100% for us and we get a good fee if they want to move then that works for me.

I hate agents!! That last sentence implying we are merely a stepping stone to better things. Don’t agree with that in the slightest. Yes there will be an exception to the rule…but if that was the case, Mr. T, Dreamboat et al would jump at the chance of moving on. Fact is…they see US as a big club and that’s all that matters. People implying that NUFC is a way to getting a “bigger club” should be very careful as interest will diminish immediately should this be heard. Douglas anyone….?!

“players who perform well at Newcastle are a step nearer the Top clubs in the premier league” Yeah you could take that either way….1) stepping stone or 2) he means that he know if he goes to Newcastle he will be challenging at the top of the league…..who am I trying to kid its blatantly the former!!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the agent saying NUFC are a step nearer the top clubs – its a compliment.

The top clubs are ManU, City, Chelsea and Arsenal and we aren’t in their league – yet. If NUFC are the best of the rest, or seen alongside LPool and Spurs, that is a big plus for us in bringing in quality players.

If we keep getting players like Cabaye, Cisse, Santon, HBA and Ba we’ll be challenging for the top 4.

“Players who perform well at Newcastle are a step nearer the top clubs in the Premier League.”

Hmm didn’t like that! But as mentioned above, he didn’t say it himself… so I’ll let it slip.

I like this guy and think another £1-2m will swing it. He seems to want to come, the club seem happy to sell – at the right price. Give them about £5.5m, they’ll feel like they held out for a better deal, we’ll be chuffed as we got a good young player for a decent price, and he’ll be happy as he gets to play for the mighty Toon. Win win win! Hope it happens.

I’m afraid that the agents last sentence is indeed correct, as much as it gets my goat!

I have heard/seen Tiote make a similar statement in an interview I saw on youtube.

Ben Arfa said something akin to this as well last week…

For the time being, we just have to suck it up for now, with our 5 year plan a year ahead of schedule hopefully we won’t hear that too often in the near future.

Agents suck! Much as it annoys me though, to a point, he,s right. We are one of the bigest Clubs in UK with the Fanbase to Match! We still don,t have the Allure or the Financial Clout of say Chelski, Manure or Shitty!

We advanced in leaps and bounds last year and are fast starting to get to where we all want to be!

A lot of these Money grabbing twots just did,nt seem to get the message last year! Most of them are only interested in what they can make instead of the best interests of a player!

They earn their bread on transfer deals and a lot of the time are out to Screw any clubs or the players themselves involved in Transfer Negotiations!

Is the club so naive that they don,t realise this! Who is the bright spark who allowed a release clausule to be built into Demba Ba,s contract! That is very Naive and borders on Stupidity!
If he leaves then someone can be happy in the fact that they have screwed us, Ba won,t be bothered either way because at the end of the day the players just want to play football !

I just hope that any future deals with any other players are,nt set to dis-advantage NUFC!
