Magpies Working Hard To Bring New Players To Tyneside

A message from the Newcastle manager today in the local press,  that the club, with Mike Ashley’s help, are working hard at bringing in some new players this summer.

Vurnon Anita – still a Newcastle target?

And even though a lot of our players, like Ben Arfa and  Demba Ba among others, have been linked with other clubs, Alan Pardew reminds everybody that we haven’t lost anybody yet, and we know Alan is very keen to keep Demba Ba on Tyneside for next season.

Newcastle have made bids for Vurnon Anita, Mathieu Debuchy and Luuk de Jong, according to reports, and Alan Pardew had this to say this morning about the transfer situation at the moment:

“We haven’t lost anybody yet, despite all of the speculation. We’re working to bring a couple of people to improve the squad.”  “Mike Ashley has made it clear he is committed to the club.”

“We are working through the process of bringing players in.”  “Myself and Graham Carr are keeping an eye on the players we have been tracking during Euro 2012,  and seeing how they have performed.”

Demba Ba will return to England this week, having been on a religious pilgrimage to the Middle-East, and it remains to be seen if he offers any public comments to the Newcastle fans about his situation.

It wouldn’t surprise us if he does just that, and hopefully, it will be that he wants to stay on Tyneside.

Newcastle will also need to being in quite a few younger players,  to fill out their Development (Reserve) squad, after allowing nine youngsters to leave the club this summer.

But we expect, with the Euro 2012 tournament ending next Sunday, transfer activity will now start to pick up big time this week, with most of Newcastle targets now having left the Championships.

We hope so, in any case.

Comments welcome.

So that’s Ba’s excuse? Religious pilgrimage? Needs to get his priorities straight me thinks 🙂

Seriously though guys, I know we’re out of the Euros and you’re all going to be expecting signings to pop up daily, but relax and have some faith. You winding yourself up, will not and I repeat WILL NOT change who we do or don’t sign this summer. Save yourself the pain and see what happens and please don’t put unnecessary deadlines out there, there is one deadline and that is September 1st, although, I too, would like our dealings done earlier of course 🙂

Demba Ba has today said he wants to concentrate on Newcastle and he is growing tired of being linked with a move away to Turkey and Tottenham and places

I agree with you Ibiza. Everybody needs to chill out a little bit.

The blog has become so repetitious it isn’t even funny. People annoying personal adverts, endless tedious links and continous frustrations about players leaving.

This blog used to be a fun place and now it’s hard to read.

I casnnot wait for the happiness to resume and that day will be when we announce our first major signing.

The really happy days probably wont return until September when we’ll finally know how our team looks. Well, that is until January comes along

Also clutching at straws here Pardew says:

“We are working through the process of bringing players in.”  “Myself and Graham Carr are keeping an eye on the players we have been tracking during Euro 2012,  and seeing how they have performed.”

Key word performed. Past tense. So I assume that everyone we were scouting has been eliminated.

    Im sad and lonely

GT89….Like we need another reason to laugh at them 🙂

Beattie….Sad? Maybe. Lonely? Surely not on here.

I’m sure they’re trying to get some dea1s done, but they will be “deals”, so if there is too much interest in the player or the club wants too much money, if probably wont happen and they will move on.

My biggest wish is that they don’t dwell on a player for too long. If it isn’t working, move on to the next target. We’ve been messed around a bit before.

I hope 1 or 2 is a passing casual phrase like a few or several.

I pray it isn’t literal or else we may struggle next year.

What a waste of talent it would be if we didnt go for it this summer!

I’m not lonely I’m loved by all of nufcblog.com

Beattie….Sorry bud, but he says that to all the boys 😉

We definitely need more than 2 players in this summer. I get the feeling though, that we’ll replace players like Best and Lovenkrands, who didn’t feature much at all with young fresh talent, possibly from our own youth squads.

Players like Sammy Ameobi and Shane Ferguson will get a lot more games imo. So I don’t expect an influx or top quality players and think we’d be lucky with 2-3.

If we did manage, and this is only based on speculation, to get Debuchy, Anita and De Jong, plus re-vamp the reserves then it would have been a good summer for me.

I know we’re losing a few players, like the two I’ve mentioned and Smith, Guthrie, etc. But apart from Guthrie, none of those players really got any games, so although we will have extra games, I don’t see it as a major major loss.

Apologies if that didn’t really make any sense.I’m multitasking, which doesn’t always go so well for me 🙂

Last summers early signing were different – Cabaye had a buy out clause and Ba was on a free. Neither applies to De Jong, Debuchy or Anita and most business normally takes place near the end of the window.

If it’s true we’ve made bids then we ARE active in the market already. However unless we pay over the odds – which we won’t – we can’t force clubs to sell and they are going to wait and see if higher offers come in.

The big factor will be if a player wants to sign for NUFC. If that’s the case the pressure goes onto the selling club to do a deal and get his wages off the books early. Any player who signs in the 2/3 weeks is almost certainly pushing his club now for a move to NUFC.

The club have pleasntly surprised us in the last three windows and my bet is they will again.

Seen the scum have a new sponsor…like this quote from an article.

“It is a partnership which sets a new benchmark for the club commercially, but what stands out is while doing so, it truly gives something back to both our own region and to a continent which has become a firm part of our club’s success story over recent seasons.”

    Success story?

I was thinking last night watching Pirlo and dreaming of having him in our midfield.

I wish there was somebody available, a playmaker like him who could join the defensive master Tiote and the attaking and incredible workrate of Cabaye in a 3 man midfield. He could just sit there fond the space and play. He wouldn’t have to do the running as the other 2 could do it for him.

Elm springs to mind of the targets we have looked at who could perform that role but even at 33 Pirlo was amazing so maybe Indian Mag was right. Maybe

Anyone caught Pirlo’s performance yesterday against England? Majestic display. A performance England midfielders can only dream of performing. Destroyed by 1 player complete dominance in midfield with his range of passing and his footballing brain. A genius. Will be a long long time before we see a player like Pirlo and Xavi is born again. Watching Pirlo yesterday is why we all love football.

He turned football into a work of art. An artist!

    @Beattie25
I have been looking for that type of player because Cisse would score more goals than Messi if he were to be provided properly. Not that many players around unfortunately. The players I would look into are Verratti or Benãt or Djuricic or Mateo Kova?i? or Emre Can or Marvin Martin. Perhaps if we dream little more Sahin or Thiago or Ander or Banega.

If the doesn’t work out let Cabaye add some Pirlo tapes to his Xavi collection.

Alderwiereld has some skills also and few Brazilians and Argentines players.

On the first practice in preparation for the new season has Vurnon Anita Ajax1.nl against the rumors surrounding a transfer to Newcastle United confirmed: “It is true that Newcastle are interested in me.” Even he does not know precisely what is happening “My agent has made contact, I hear it. ”

In April, rumors about a possible contract extension. Ajax would close an agreement with its small midfielder. This is also unknown. The triple international of the Dutch national team has a contract until mid-2014.
