Reports Newcastle To Play In Holland Early August

There is a report in Holland that Newcastle will play Dutch side ADO Den Haag on Saturday, 4th August at the Kyocera Stadium.

Newcastle have only announced four pre-season games so far, and we would expect them to announce their full schedule of   pre-season games very shortly, and maybe before the end of this week.

Of course ADO Den Haag is the club we got Tim Krul from, back in 2005 when Tim was just 17 year old, so it would be good to go back there.

Tim has become a huge success on Tyneside, and he must be close to becoming the Dutch number one goalkeeper soon.

The report seems to be on a fan’s website, and we have don’t know if the news is accurate.

The Dutch club had a spare date in their pre-season itinary, because of another club pulling out, and if this is correct Newcastle will play there on Saturday, 4th August.

That seems to fit in nicely with Newcastle’s current official schedule, and is two weeks before the Premier League season begins, when we face Spurs at St. James’ Park, and one week before Newcastle visit Cardiff City in South Wales.

This is Newcastle’s current official schedule:

Fri 13 July KO 6;30 pm Chemnitzer FC - Lost 1-0Stadion an der Gellertstraße - Chermnitz, Germany
Mon 16 July KO 7:00 pm AS Monaco - Won 1-0Landsberg am Lech, Germany
Sat 21 July KO 7:30 pmFernerbahce - Drew 1-1 Sonnenseestadion, SC Ritzing, Austria
Fri 27 July KO 8:45 pmOlympiacos - Drew 1-1 4-4 on penalties Algarve Stadium, Faro, Portugal
Sat 28 July KO 8:45 pmFC Braga - won 2-1 Algarve Stadium, Faro, Portugal
Sat 4 August KO 5:00 pm Den Haag - Drew 0-0Kyocera Stadium, Den Haag
Tues 7 Aug KO 7:30 pmHartlepool - Won 5-1Victoria Park, Hartlepool
Sat 11 Aug 3:00 pmCardiff - Lost 4-1Cardiff City Stadium

And both Monaco and German third division side FC Chemnitzer have previously announced they will also be playing Newcastle in pre-season, with these dates announced:

  • July 13 – Friday – Chemnitzer FC at the Stadion an der Gellertstraße
  • July 16 – Monday – AS Monaco at Landsberg am Lech

And yesterday there were reports in Turkey that Newcastle could be playing Fenerbahce in pre-season, with another possible match with Polish side Wisla Krakow – and both games would be played in Vienna – and those games would probably be before Newcastle play in the Algarve tournament on July 27th in Portugal.

ADO Den Haag play in the Eredivisie and last season finished in 15th position, which was 4th bottom, and avoided the drop by a good 8 points.

The game will kick-off at 5:00 pm local time.

Mild grammar fail earlier but A for effort haha

Maybe a few reasons why we sent that muppet DL to Holland then…hopefully players were higher in the peeking order though

Yo…..I have beaten myself adequately and feel I’ve learnt my lesson. Time will tell 🙂

Seems odd that DL had to go anywhere at all. Does he normally? Isn’t most of it done by phone or whatever? I heard you can even chat to people online these days…is that right?

    Scary futuristic stuff 🙂

Beattie….Well, if they play all of the friendlies we seem to be linked with, I reckon 50 or so? Are we preparing for the 2013 – 14 season or something?

I always remember a good few years back that a friend of mine was working for BP in ‘The Hague’ and took to following this lot whilst he was there, as getting back to SJP was a little awkward for him. Whilst on his way back from an away fixture he ended up getting beaten to within an inch of his life by Feyenoord fans, for simply wearing a ‘non Feyenoord’ top. Not that this is in any way a slight on Den Haag, but there doesn’t seem to be owt interesting to talk about happening.

No way im based 10 minutes up the road from that stadium i see it every time i go to amsterdam, im no season ticket holder or nuffin so im not sure if it would be easy to get a ticket once confirmed but still wont argue with an nufc tie 10 mins away hahaha

Hope we get to play Fenerbache aswell. How many players can you bring over to countries in pre-season or can you bring as many players as you want?
