Newcastle Very Close To Sealing £7M Deal For Debuchy

We have to hope Sky Sports is correct with their breaking news that Newcastle United are very close to sealing a deal for their French International target – Mathieu Debuchy.

Mathieu Debuchy – close to Newcastle move?

Sky Sports sources are  reporting that Newcastle seem close to completing the deal with French club Lille, for a player who has been their target all last season.

Sifting through the various reports on Debuchy, it appears that Newcastle have already bid £4M for the Frenchman, which was immediately turned down, but a fee of around £6M was thought to be what Lille would accept for their player.

With Mathieu’s excellent performances in Euro 2012,  there are other big clubs after the player, so if Newcastle can seal the deal, it would a terrific signing for the club.

The breaking news is that Newcastle have re-opened talks in the last two days with Lille and are now close to reaching an agreement on a deal said to be worth around £7M.

Newcastle are hoping to push through the deal in the coming days,  as they want Debuchy signed, sealed and delivered, so he can join the Magpies pre-season tour of Germany.

And of course this fits in nicely with the earlier news today, that Newcastle may have sold right-back Danny Simpson to Reading, for an undisclosed fee, thought to be at least £2M.

Danny would not want to stay at Newcastle if he wasn’t playing in the first team, after having three seasons as Newcastle’s first choice right back, and we think the Simpson deal going through with Reading will be dependent on the Debuchy deal going through with Lille.

This makes a lot of sense – we just hope it’s all true. 😀

And if it is true, then it seems the friendship with Newcastle midfielder Yohan  Cabaye, who played with Mathieu at Lille for six years,  has indeed swayed the deal in Newcastle’s favor.

Sounds good to us.

has to be a done deal .. just been dragging on for too long .. but simpson being let go means we must have secured it ..
I think now they’re turning their attention to douglas since Taylor has a strain and management must have realised we are short there and its too risky not to fix it ..
    I definately think ins are
    Debuchy
    Douglas

maybes are Anita and then a possibility of a striker ..

if we got all four our squad will have improved and regular top 6/8 should be expected..

I hope this deal can be finalised soon!

Then hopefully we can hijack a deal for Hoilett to Gladbach. Or is Hoilett just travelling to our training camp in Germany?

It would be amazing if we signed Hoilett & Debuchy very closely. We’d be a menace to any defence in the world next year!

So you reckon Pardew has got his own code for speaking to us toon fans yet it is so good we are actually unaware.

Look at the facts. No CF in Jan, Cisse. Carroll will not be sold, Liverpool. Maybe 14 days until a body comes in, Debuchy…

I need to dust off my Enigma machine.

Hate to rain on the parade but the skysports story is just a rehash of what was in lequipe this morning on Debuchy. Wouldn’t trust it till something actually comes out of the club. SSN always jump the gun.

I hope this happens but it just looks like they’ve copied the story from lequipe

Admittedly skysports do jump the gun but it’s usually on good authority.

If they ran with every rumour the skysports news would have to be on longer than 24 hrs a day.

This has got some legs or I’ve just wasted a good CHUFF.

What about this for the biggest games of next season:

    ——————–Krul—————–
    -Debuchy–Douglas–Colo–Santon-
    ——————–Tiote—————-
    ——HBA——-Cabaye—–Hoilett–
    ————–Ba———-Cisse———

    Subs:

Elliot, Saylor, Perchinho, Raylor, Marveaux, Jonas, Shola

    Transfers In:

    Gael Bigirimana – £500K
    Amalfitano – FREE
    Debuchy – £6M
Hoilett – FREE (£5M in compensation)
    Douglas – £5M
    Curtis Good – £300K

    = £16.8M

    Transfers Out:

    Simpson – £5M
    Willo – £3M
    Best – £3M
    Forster £2M

    = £13M

Champion”s League Place? F.A Cup? League Cup?
What do you think about the team though?

Debuchy, Douglas and Hoilett would be the perfect signings, just concerned about what formation we play after pardew said Ba would play centrally next season, really want to give the 4-3-3 a full run next season. Cabaye playing better in a 4-3-3 is more important than Ba playing bette in a 4-4-2.

You have to respect Simpson for one thing:

He cleared the ball off the line 7 times last season. Newcastle got an additional 25 points because of those clearances.

Why in the name of god are we throwing 7mill down to buy a player we don’t need?LB is the priority I make that about 6 RB’s on the books and how many LB’s? none I thought AP was a more shrewd man than that, Hoilett going Germany mite mean that the De jong deal could still be on?

look at the bigger picture here. Pardew wants to keep Cabaye at the club, and signing his best mate to play with him is one way of doing it.

Also the fact that we need offence from the back line of the team too. Debuchy is a class signing for us and a bonus that he wants to come here too when bigger clubs are knocking on his door.

Debuchy been on holiday,Douglas waiting for dutch citizenship, hence Pardew being careful.

This isnt 7m down the drain for another right back, its 7m on a very versatile player who plays right back but can also help out playing in midfield. To be honest, i think he looks like he will be the toons best right winger aswell!!!!

    @gudmunssonwhatever

That team Sam posted would be if santon was swapped for bojan I believe.. The real error is havin s.taylor (?? It appears Ryan didn’t make the bench ??) at right back… One of the things I am most excited for this season is Steven and Colo paired once again in the center.. they were near impenetrable at the beginning of last season.. Taylor is so underrated should be a staple of the England squad
