Do You Like Newcastle’s New Home Strip?

Newcastle United wore their new strip for the very first time last night, and there’s a lot more white in the shirt than the previous strip.

We’re not sure we like it all that much, and the Virgin Money insignia looks a little cheap to us, but maybe not.

By the way do you notice how tall Sammy Ameobi is these days – he’s even taller now than Mike Williamson – it’s those McDonald hamburgers for sure.

It’s not one of my favs, but I think we need to try something different now and again and the Juve-esque design is at least refreshing.

NO – for me its better with black as the more dominant colour rather than white we also seem to have better seasons with more black in the stip than white or it just mite be a coincidence.

I’ve slept on it and I’ve come to the conclusion that certain relegation looms. We didn’t have anyone to put the ball in the net. Michael Owen is on a free transfer. Bring him back, all is forgiven. Any yes………pards out!

At last the action starts. I read the blog every day but could not be arsed to post as the transfer speculation bores me stupid. Still had a chuckle at some of the comments Ibiza/JFA and the like, comedy gold at times!
We looked like giants against dwarfs from that action.
On the strip i liked the blue asics one so what do i know ohh aye and that silver one from the 80′s haha

I personally like it, don’t understand the pointed lines that stick out but very Juventusesque & I’m not too fussed about the black to white ratio but get why people wouldn’t like it. I’ll be getting myself a replica of this but still wondering who’s name to get on the back?!?

I think the strip looks great.

I totally disagree that it should be more Black than White.

If it was up to me we would play in White Shorts and Socks.

The more Black than White success rate is b~ll~cks also. Just because last seasons was more Black then White?
The 95/96 strip looks more white than black to me.

I can see what you are getting at but the sponsor’s name has to stand out to be seen on a black and white background it will always look out of synch.

Single colour strips are easier to stand out on just look around the league and you will see what I mean.

Last I saw of him he was getting upset at the anti English sentiment during the Euro’s as was I,its a shame he’s stopped posting as he offered some very funny and level headed opinions nothing like the rubbish I spout,I would like to start a campaign to bring back Tsunki.

i really dig it; a much improvent on the few kits we have had.

But I still finf our away kit horrible; don’t really understand why the club don’t find it more important ro get that one right as well

The first photo of the lads in the strip shows a slight difference to that of the close up shot, the first photo shows the “Money” of the sponsor in gold but the close up it is in red. I think looks better in gold and yes, I am a pedant!!

Was just looking through our previous kits. Have to say that although this kit looks alright.. The adidas kits were still the best for me. It’s just not the same without those black and white stripes..

As with most things “shock of the new”. In this case more like shock of the old. Traditionally over our clubs history there has always been a large element of white in the strip. Later years have seen us tend to use more black. After having seen more of it in pictures I’m now giving it the thumbs up.

I’d actually also think we should have gone all white socks with this one.

looks ok but i am not a fan of red emblems or red trim, we are the magpies and they have flashes of blue which looks far better

I’m sitting on the fence with this strip. Might wait until I have my own first before I make my mind up.
I agree it does look a bit Juev ey but then thats not a bad thing. As for the Virgin logo it looks better with the white background than it did on our last strip. But then thats just my opnion. If I had to put a percentage on like to dislike I would be 70/30.

new strip is alot better than i expected, i thought it was going to look more like the kit which we had in the championship ( which i didnt really like tbh).

@42 It’s going to have the names on the back. These kits might have looked a bit out of sync because the names were missing at the friendly. Me though, I’ve got a good imagination, so I think it will look splendid when the names are put back on.

Greater emphasis on the black rather than the white and we would resemble more our famed traditional strip. Still better than the last burnt offering through. I still wish we played in our stripes away if there is no clash of colours.
