If MA pulls this off i will be in awe of his business savvy. Sell something to 35mil and get it back on a trial basis after 1,5 years with the possibility of buying it back for say 10-15 mil??. …. hell yeah.

He was decent for us, but that £35M his sale gave us bought us an awful lot of quality to replace him with. Personally, I don’t want him back at the toon.

Fee £13m apparently and there’s a clause in AC’s contract that we get 25% of the transfer fee so it works out as less than £10m

Not sure this is a good move. I would hate to go back to lump it forward football. It worked with Andy, but we’ve moved on since, and we’re signing ball players now.

No way should our club be making a bid for this player. He did a good job whilst he was with us, but we were a different side then. He would not fit in with our current style of play. Let him go to West Ham United and fatsam. Don’t want to watch foofball.

Even Bob Moncur is getting excited….. Still sceptical about the loan though, I’m sure Pardew came out last year saying we won’t do loans as they aren’t cost effective.

Hatem. Like I’ve said, I’m anything but fickle. I will not be celebrating his goals. Ill be thinking ”keep working kid and maybe one day ill consider forgiving your treachery, as long as he don’t bring us into disrepute, again!!!”

We could just make this cyclical, sell him again to the next schmucks after a few years of banging them, say Spurs, for 35m, rinse repeat – *nudge nudge wink* 😆

Just the thought of having Ba, Cisse, Carroll and Ameobi as our fire power is mouth watering lol. If we bring in Carroll in on loan with an option to buy as well as Debuchy, Douglas and Anita then for me that would be a very successful window as long as we keep all our best players also however, i cannot see Carroll coming back. Either loan with option to buy or nothing. He can keep their bench warm.

We don’t play in a way that suits or exploits Andy .We can buy better players for our system with the sums being mentioned. I loved Andys style of play when we wee chasing promotion and consolidation . but NO NO NO not now , that would be one step forward two steps backwards. Is this MA getting brash and trying to rub Liverpools face in it ? If so , no way to run the business.

I voted yes, but i still can’t see it happening. And i’d still prefer a move for Caistaignos or Guidetti or Bojan.

But if we take Andy back on loan, then surely it could only happen if Liverpool agree to give us first option on him and therefore the price would have to be between 10-15mill, meaning a huge loss for them.

And would him signing on loan, mean a bit more leway to maybe bring another player in with the budget, ie Anita.

Summer signings of Debuchy, Douglas, Anita and Carroll sound pretty good to me.

The whole story is totally made up for me and the sooner we just go out and seal the Debuchy deal the better, no way Liverpool are going to give us Carroll back, never in this world.

Adding an extra striker to a thin squad is a good move given the potential number of games we have to play next season. He could certainly get game time in the Europa League and would give us a different dimension when needed in the Premier League. Provided we don’t fundamentally alter our style then I don’t see why it isn’t a smart move. Players don’t just become crap overnight and he’s still only 23 after all. We’d be pocketing a 20-odd million pound profit on a striker for what was basically an 18 month loan to Merseyside. Not bad business if you ask me.

Cisse, Ba and Carroll would certainly give us every striker option there is.

Interesting times. But I want first and foremost Debuchy + a CB, then Andy, then a DCM.
