According to Carroll’s mate on twitter he’ll be wearing the number 24 shirt before the end of the week and Tioté will wear number 8

Remember Obertan’s goal against Blackburn I think when he played through the middle and ran on to the through ball and finished calmly with composure. He needs to work on his finishing and timing of the runs and he could be a good player in Europe/cup and good sub in the league.

    Hi fellow NYFC fans 🙂

it is summer time for me and my family so I don’t get so watch or follow or pre-season games.

Can anyone give me an update on who was shinning through and who might have disappointed a bit 😉

Are we looking any good? I tried to read some of the comment at the last thread, but it seemed like some of you guys was watching a different game 🙂 lol

    Repost, as Ed is sly

If we sign Debuchy Douglas and Carroll we will have one hell of a squad, real presence with some superb quality, premier league isnt all about looking pretty, some times rolling up your sleeves and putting in a shift is just as important, and with big Andy linking all the ball players up we would be a handfull of a team.

Love Tavernier and Marveaux both have that composure only top players have. Please let tonight be the last time i have to endure Simpson try and play for our football club, he is sh1t. I repeat Sh1t, move him on, would actually be happier to get rid of Simmo than sign Debuchy, weird but true.

More interested in Obertan coming good as a CF/S The finishin can be coached easier than positional sense and makin the runs…If him and Marv do 20-30 games this season in good form then we won’t need these forward signings and can recruit better players for the back 4.

What do you reckon will be our best XI next season ? Can’t decide myself whether to have two holding midfielders, two up front, where to play Ben Arfa, what’s Marvo’s best position etc…

I couldnt agree more on the whole simpson thing, i try not to be critical of any of our players but it is clear he is way off the mark in all aspects. It seems every game its clear he incapable yet he’s in the team week in week out, lets just ship him out and bring in clyne or debuchy, preferably the later.

    Why not a 4-2-3-1?

    —————————Krul—————————
    –Debuchy–Coloccini—-Saylor——-Santon–
    —————-Tioté—————Cabaye———–
    —Ben Arfa————-Ba———–Marveaux—
    ————————–Cissé————————-

Or perhaps playing Cabaye in the CF position and playing a DM next to Tioté.

We’d keep any new CB on the bench a first then slowly introduce them into the startin line up ahead of Saylor.

The league is priority so I’d be glad if we fielded the youngsters in the EL games and League Cup and perhaps only play our strongest XI during the knockout stages.

As for the FA cup, it depends how many other competitions we are still in. If a lot, play the youngsters; if not, we may as well go for it.

Playing the above team, rested at full fitness, in the Premiership is paramount to any attempt we make at finishing strongly and mounting an attack on a CL place.

    Agreed.

For those who wish to engage in open and rational conversation we will lie in wait.

As for this crap that all opinions should be respected I don’t buy it. If your opinion is based on solid evidence and reasoned arguments then fine I will openly engage in debate, if it’s not I will tell you that you’re being silly and rubbish it so forewarned is forearmed, don’t be getting sensitive people, just be smarter 😀

Ruddy – i have had a go at Simpson for some time now and a little ticking off from you wont stop me, he is sh1t and i am sick of watching his pitiful contribution, would sooner play Perch or Tav or Santon. And if Shola goes back to his hands in his pocket style of playing then he shall get pelters too, people need to be 100% commited or they will get no credit from me, you are obviously easily pleased.

i watched the game tonight and happy with what I saw.
Tavernier – came on at cb and looked very strong and composed (through ball to obertan was fantastic).
Santon – played very good down the right, but needed to cross that bit earlier with 2 big men in the box.
Willo – same old same old, nothing fancy but gets the job done.
Simmo – same as will to be honest.
abied – good range of passing and good work rate.
bigirmania – young tiote, tough tackler, great footwork, excellent passing and gets his head up early to seek out the right pass (quality signing).
amalfitano – good touch, showed glimpses of creativity, needs to get more time under his belt with the team.
sammiobi – nothing special, apart from good through ball to shola.
ba – quality player and showed that he can still score
ameobi – hard working, dominating the air again.
guiti – better in cm than lb, controlled the pace of the game and top notch passing.
vukic – hard working, good crossing and very creative.
obertan – looked sharp, even faster, should of scored but did well to get past the 2 cb’s.
gosling – dissapointing, looks lost in cm, not very creative (could be our weak link).
perch – very strong and solid at cb
marvuex – looks like a quality player, neat touches, didnt miss a pass and can take players on. (hope he stays fit, can be a big player for us).

HWTL, the futures bright, its black and white.

Plan B dont think simmo is useless burmt definatly think we need to upgrade him as he offers absolutly nothing in attack and does stand off his man far to much BUT hes done us well the last couple of seasons and takes far to much stick

they looked very composed, I think with hba, cabaye, marvuex across the middle with tiote behind we will be a force. Marvuex loooked like a mix of cabayes passing with hba touch.

What does the same constant criticism of a player on this blog achieve anyway? Almost all of us agree that Simpson is an OK player but not good enough for us anymore due to our ambitions. We agree that we need to upgrade and so does Pardew as we are looking at Lille RB. I just don’t understand why some people go over the board and say he is ‘useless and sh1t’. I don’t think they understand what useless means. I would say he was pretty useful last season and he is certainly not sh1t. Why do we keep going on and on about this?

in my eyes, pardew has built a very good squad. last year we depended on 4-3-3 and 4-4-2. We have got players who can play in various postitons all over park. I can see pardew trying to with us what Ferguson does with Manure. Mix up the formation and positions. Will make us un-predictable.
