62% Want Andy Carroll Back At Newcastle

With over 7,000 votes in 62% of Newcastle fans would like to see Andy back On Tyneside and 26% don’t, with the other 12% undecided about it.

Andy Carroll – while at home town club Newcastle United
That’s  Chris Hughton  shown in the background

And while that’s obviously a majority, there’s still just over a quarter of fans that don;t want him to return to Newcastle, and those in favor are not as overwhelming as some reports earlier this week would have you beleive.

Some of the headlines on Andy after the news broke on Sunday night were that Newcastle fans were desperate to get him back, but that’s simply not true.

However, if Newcastle can do the deal with Liverpool, we think a number of those 26%,  could still be willing to welcome Andy back to his home town club.

But it’s not going to be easy for Newcastle to pull this deal off, as good as Newcastle seem to be in the transfer market, as they seem to be able to out-negotiate the selling club, and if they can’t do that – they simply walk away.

That’s always a very good thing to be able to do in any negotiations.

Here’s the results of the poll, and it’s still open, so if the initial poll comes up, it’s a chance for you to cast your vote – only one vote per reader.

Do You Want Newcastle To Bring Back Andy Carroll?

If we’re the only club he’ll agree terms with.
Liverpool may have no choice, unless they want their very own Xisco for the next four years.

Will they risk a sulky Carroll ruining their pre-season?

I don’t think we’ll be able to get a decent deal out of Liverpool and I don’t really want to see us paying upwards of 20 million for him. We could use that money far better elsewhere. That said though, if we could do a deal for around 15 million then we’d have made another good deal. I’ll leave it down to Ashley. He normally seems to get a good deal and do the right thing in the transfer market.

Also, just posted a new post on my blog. You can read it here:

    I’m in the 38%.

The reason I don’t want him back, because I wanted to see more of Sammy and Vuckic. If AC is back then Sammy and Vuckic will have a lot less opporturnities.

He will end up back here i think. The longer it goes on, the stronger our position gets. We are patient with these things. Carroll won’t go anywhere else and Liverpool will cash in. No one will bid more than 15 million, and we get 25% sell on? The likelyhood of us getting him for around 13 million is very high.

If we do that’s great business. No one can deny Andy is a good player.

only if we dont give them Ba, and if we can get him for under 13mill… also his number should be the difference between what we sold him for and what we payed to get him back… this way we could laugh at Pool every game

Andy needs to go to Boston .. get p!$$ed the first night, fall off a bar stool or two, break Suarez’s racist jaw and get the first flight back to Newcastle.

    We’ll get him for 13M.

It says a lot that 26% don’t want him and that another 12% aren’t sure. Not exactly an overall endorsement is it and if he wasn’t a geordie would we would even be considering it?

reckon it will be later rather than sooner for ac…can see him sitting sulking on bench then creating havoc when he gets on as sub ..red cards ..fights ..and eventually for sake of harmony in bindippers squad a last min transfer for fee not disclosed but later found to be £12 m …..

Regarding the no.2 keeper, Elliott was a very good keeper at Charlton, hes a very brave keeper, good reflexes etc, comes off his line a bit easily tho! He’s a good squad player to have, rate him as good as Robert green, Scott Carson, paddy Kenny etc

I missed the poll anyway, I definitely wouldn’t choose yes, but he was ours for most of his life, I didn’t want to say no too, to be honest.
I really want to see Sammy and Vuckic more this season.

I would say If its Not Accepted By Monday Then Sod off !!!!! As its Been Said He will be another Xisco !!!!!!! If he wants to come back he also has to put a transfer request in at Liverpool !!!!

Im in the same boat as you. Sammy could be a good alternative to Carroll and is good on both feet and the boy keeps getting taller. Gabby Oberton could be a option as a back up striker if he gets his confidence up

On the previous article – I thing Harps oozes confidence with his experience. We are lucky to have this lad as a back up to Krul. He has to go down as one of the best NUFC players for his loyalty to this great club of ours.

First before we start though we need to get you loose so can you wobble your entire like it’s jelly.

Yes that’s good. Start from the head and all the way down. Free those muscles from their traps. Nice.

Ok we repeat that 10 times and I’ll be back with the first steps of Zumba in a moment.

Damn, I feel conflicted. I hate to see his career being destroyed by Liverpool, but I also don’t wat to see him doing well at Liverpool, which means Liverpool doing well and made good business. I want him back but I also want Sammy and Vuckic play more, which means one of our strikers must go. 🙁

I wonder if we are waiting to see who we draw in Europa before pushing through any transfers, imagine we spend 20mill then we don’t actually qualify for group stages and miss out on the revenue… Just a thought.

And Ashley will look at it this team depending on no major departures between now and aug 31st got us within the brink of champs league should be in a good position by January to strengthen for the final push …

long time nufcblog stalker, first time poster.
why do we get to a point where the club can kick on and play attractive attacking football and be the talk of the land and indeed europe yet the majority of newcastle fans (who allegedly like good football) seem to want to go backwards and revert to a long ball team.
It’s clear to me that not many of you actually put your hand in your pocket and pay for season tickets because if you did you would not want to go back to watching the dross that was displayed in most games while AC was at NUFC.
Please dont let this happen Mike, please make it all a smoke screen just to mess with liverpool’s pre season.

    Not an overwhelming endorsement.
When you consider that of those 60% or so, most, if given the chance will NOT agree Carroll coming at the expense of Ba, then 60% would become maybe 30%

I think Liverpool are going to have to let this happen now. They’ve already been outed for making a bad business deal in signing him, and they’ve cottoned on to the fact that Newcastle will offer a decent fee, and probably more than any other team, so they may have to accept our bid. However it will be interesting how Newcastle will settle the wage demands, as he’s surely going to have to take a hefty drop to sign.
