Newcastle Stars Go White Water Rafting in Germany – Photos

We knew one of the purposes for Newcastle going on their European tour, was to do some bonding, especially for the new lads and the youngsters in the squad, and sure enough yesterday they went white water rafting in Germany, and the Daily Mail has some great shots of   the Newcastle stars like you have never seen them.

Goalkeeper Tim Krul – he looks underwater to me

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew was 51 yesterday,  and we suppose the lads celebrated with him by going white water rafting and it’s not known if Alan ended up in the drink.

The lads were at the  Ausgsburg White Water rafting center, and it seems one of  Sammy Ameobi’s aims yesterday was to get the gaffer in the water, as he tweeted on his Twitter account:

“will try to get him overboard to celebrate.”

Here are the other photos from the adventure of yesterday.

Ryan Taylor (front left),  Perchinho (front right), Danny Simpson (mid left), Sammy Ameobi (back left), Steven Taylor (mid right) and Dan Gosling (back right)

This is taken directly from the Daily Mail as we couldn’t tell many of the players – those crash helmets don’t help in the identification.

New boy Romain Amilfitano, Sylvain Marveaux and the great Cheick Tiote
Who’s is in the boat?

It’s Papiss Cisse – looks like he just scored a goal

Papiss doesn’t look too sick does he – good news for Newcastle fans.

And this one from the Evening Chronicle today.

That’s show-off Ryan Taylor or is it Tim Krul again?

It seems the Newcastle manager is keen on these type of outward bound activities, and they certainly allow the players to get to know each other because it forces them to open up and reveal their characters when confronted with unusual situations.

After the event Sammy  Ameobi tweeted:

‘Never had so much extreme fun in my life…they even let us swim down the rapids! Worn out now but one happy kid!’

And Sammy also revealed they were having a team dinner last bight in Munich – so he made the cake for Alan?

It’s a pity we didn’t see Alan and the coaches in the drink – well you cannot have everything we suppose.

Looks like the team bonding is working.

Your right about the team bonding Ed. I think this idea is excellent and it shows that the manager and management are creating a unit that will work with and for each other. This is PROGRESS and after last seasons result I think we can go a little further this season. I really reckon with the hoped for signings covering the necessary positions there is no reason why we couldn’t make 4th and a good cup run too. Good article to open the day with Ed. HWTL

If you go on the official website and look at the pic specials, there are some great snaps from games and training and events like this. I think these photos were taken, by the mail, from that album.

Good team bonding, re-charging has been important, this is going to be a long season, with domestic and european comps this year! Still 6 new signings to be made. Four first team players most likely, with Andy Caroll hopefully, or another striker, Debuchy hopefully (or just keep simpson)
and douglas. Hopefully there will be a few more young players come in too.
