Debuchy To Meet Lille Manager Today – Inter Milan Still Interested

It seems that Inter Milan still have a strong interest in Newcastle target Mathieu Debuchy, but of course it’s always hard to know which pieces reported in the press are true and which aren’t – especially in the summer transfer window.

Mathieu Debuchy – meets with Rudi Garcia today on his future

It seems that Inter are in the process of unloading 30 year-old Brazilian International  Maicon, who has been at the club since 2006, and if he does eventually leave,  then it could well be the Italian giants will move for Debuchy.

There are reports in the Italian media – on the Inter Milan web-site Interlive to be exact – and there are some opinons being offered that Mathieu wants to join Inter.

But what would you expect them to say – that he doesn’t want to join Inter Milan and prefers Newcastle United instead?

That’s just not the way human nature works,  so we would take these reports with a pinch of salt.

The journalist being quoted is  Alexander Grandesso who says he thinks Debuchy wants a move to Inter – but says nothing to back up that claim –  so  it seems to us it’s his opinion – which everybody is entitled to of course.

But remember that opinions are different from facts – and yes I know that’s hard to grasp sometimes. 😀

This is what Grandesso  said on the Interlive web-site, with adequate translation from Google and ourselves:

“The arrival of Debuchy is related to departure or not of Maicon. The French side has clearly expressed its willingness to let him leave leave Lille .”

“His preference is for Inter , although the most concrete offer came from Newcastle . The English club would be willing to invest €6-€7M for him, but the Nerazzurri are continuing to have contact with his representatives.”

Alexander then goes onto talk about Lyon full-back Cissokho, who is another option for Inter.

But it seems that this can all be coming to a head very soon, on Mathieu Debuchy’s future, and there is a meeting with manager Rudi Garcia today, who himself has been looking for a replacement for his French International, who starred in Euro 2012..

Rudi had this to say to the Eurosport web-site:

“Everything is clear from Mathieu.” “He will be here Saturday so we can chat in person rather than on the phone. We are looking for a replacement who will not lower the level of the team. He is one of the best in Europe.”

“We do not intend to put up a fight with the player over his decision. He can go wherever he wants to if his replacement is found.”

Lille have already taken a look at Jose Bosingwa, who is a free agent after his contract at Chelsea ran out at the end of June, and Troyes defender Djibril Sidibe has also been identified as a possible replacement.

It does seem that Newcastle are the only club who have so far made an offer for the right back, but we think that was the £4M offer that was dismissed out of hand by Lille, and it doesn’t seem another offer has yet been made, although there were reports of that a few weeks ago.

With the meeting taking place today with Garcia –  after Mathieu has eventually returned from holiday – there could be new developments on this front, but we’d be surprised if Newcastle don’t end up with their man on Tyneside.

What do you think?

His friendship with Cabeye together with our cash up front policy and the communication skills of Pardiola should bring him to the Toon?

Got a bad feeling we’re gonna miss out on one of the best RB’s in Europe.

Thank god there is a game today. Next we will be discussing Debuchy’s favored washing powder and how this could influence his next move.

Getting so bored of this now. talk is Lille now want 10M.
We should walk away now. 10M for Debuchy and 16M for carroll would have us heading back to the freddie shepherd days and we are more canny than that. Carr must have some gems out there.

It’s all brinkmanship. As the transfer window draws to a close there will be a war of words and double bluff. NUFC play a cagey game and although it makes for nervy moments and the possibility of narrowly missing our targets, nobody takes the boys for mugs. Ash won’t pay a penny more than the valuation he has been given, so if we do miss out, don’t be sad, we’ll manage.

I am 99.9% sure that Lille have NEVER publicly put a valuation on debuchy!
I am also approx 90.015% sure that the reason we were looking at debuchy long before the euros, was because he had a Cabaye style buyout clause !!!!!!
So 10m is nothing but speculation by UK hacks!!!!
The Inter thing however is worrying, and will define whether he wants to move for money or for ambition!!! As I feel we are very much an emerging European team.

Didn’t we not sell both Carroll and Enrique without having a replacement in hands?

Is just us who are stupid or could be out some pressure on Lille to sort themself out ASAP?

Les Grossman – clearly there isnt a buyout clause or we would have bid that amount and signed him by now. If he had a clause we wouldnt have to wait for them to find a replacement.

jesper – Lilie are clearly being awkward with us, probbaly because we stole Cabaye. As they have sold players in past before ahving signed replacements, Hazard, Gervinho etc

Tsunki – yes fella. They have a champions lge qualifier coming up shortly so will be at full strength. Interesting to see how we match up because despite the coaching staff saying we did well against Monaco, I though they opened us up far too many times.

I don’t worry about this transfer window Ashley can’t be keeping all the money into his own pocket so I’m sure 2-3 signings are possible.

I think that regardless off buyOut clause, clubs have a right to hold onto contracted players!!! A buyout clause is simply a valuation on a player that the club will sell at, eg in lilles case, we will sell you if I 5m bid comes in, but not until we have a replacement! Much the same as putting a price tag on a player! Demba ba 7m, but ends on 31 July! You can put anything you want in a buyout clause! Perhaps debuchys is …. Until we get a replacement!!!! Comprndez!
Too often you come on here an poo poo people’s theories young man

Les Grossman – a buy it clause is so a player can get out if a club matches a valuation WITHOUT his current club stopping him, why on earth would a player ask for a clause that states they only have to accept once a replacement is found, as then clearly the clause becomes worthless as the club can stop them moving if they so wish by simply saying they cant get a replacement. Think about it logically, comprendez. And lets face it there is no evidence to suggest such a clause.

And let’s face it im not ‘poo pooing your theory’. As theories have logic, this is just something you plucked from the air and made up a random percentage about how sure you are it will happen.

You failed to explain Demba ba’s situation, oh because such things like a deadline cannot be put into a clause, can they as a clause is written in blood! As are football players contracts, as we all know contracts are always honoured by the players aren’t they nicolarse?
So your actually saying that if someone comes in and offers 7m for Demba ba he can just walk out the club? Interesting indeed! I merely thought, being a normal mortal, that nufc would hold on to him as long as tgey could to get a replacemnt in!
But I bow down to your far superior knowledge of football players contracts, as you being an agent ITK specialist n stuff….. I guess I should no longer comment on things ( players contacts) that I know nothing about on this here blog! I stand scolded and accurately corrected!

Now take yourself a huge step back and f11ck your own face! You anal retentive phallic shaped cranium!

On another matter.. To change the subject of attacking each other. It seems that Jonas is CM now. How would you like it if Obertain was used as a striker. Then we get the pace we need in center of the field. More options for him. He played as a striker for Manchester United during 2010. HWTL
