Newcastle Now Likely To Sign Top Young French Striker

We had reported yesterday that Newcastle were giving a trial to 19 year-old French striker Anthony Koura from Le Mans, and that this lad seems to be hot stuff, and he scored two goals in Newcastle Reserves 3-1 win against Hamilton Academicals on Wednesday.

Anthony Koura – likely Newcastle will sign this lad

And the good news is that the 19 year-old striker, who has played for all the French Youth sides through U19 level, is available at a cut-price fee.

Anthony still has two years left ion his contract at Le Mans but the French club are struggling financially, and have to sell some of their players in an attempt to balance their books and get back in the black.

And the French FA are even putting some pressure on the French club to put their financial house in order, and it seems the only thing now necessary is for Newcastle to ensure he’s good enough to join the Magpies.

However, Newcastle development manager Willie Donachie on the official web-site as saying the following about the Le Mans born striker was said to be willing to take the lad is the price is right:

This was part of Dan King’s assessment of the lad, after Dan had reported on the Reserve team victory:

“United’s Reserve Team Manager could hardly fail to be impressed by the unnamed French teenager, whose brace came inside the opening 24 minutes, and admitted that he “would take him” if the price was right.”

The unnamed teenager has now been unmasked, and of course it’s Anthony Koura, and according to all reports that we’ve seen of the game on Wednesday, the lad looked a very good player and of course scored two goals.

It’s signing players like Anthony,  that will help Newcastle keep up with the big boys in the Premier League, and there’s even a decent case of saying these signings are even more important for the long term future success of Newcastle United,  than even the first team signings.

One thing is for sure – they are very important young players coming into the club this summer.

Here’s Anthony’s new Facebook page if you want to pass him a message about our club.

What do you think?

See this is the direction im loving. Bring in hot prospects. While everybody is shitting themselves over not signing a first team name the papers have linked us with we’ve signed bigirimana and look likely to sign this guy.
We already know that pards will play a young guy if he has confidence in him (sammy, vuckic pre injury). If these guys impress there’s no reason they can’t break into being (sometimes at first) picked for first team games within a year

Had a good trial, available at a cut price fee, striker/winger with potential…
Sign him up if he’s worthy!

I think our push for youth also addresses the issue or teams thinking we underpay/offer for players. If we can no longer negotiate for ready made players, we will buy young and produce them ourselves. We’re almost in a position of a good starting 11 and bench, so the emphasis will be on youth to push for the starting team in the future and only buy ready made to replace outgoings, which we can presume would be for top money, therefore allowing us to replace with similar.

    @pardews plan b

Think he will be brought into the development squad initially but he is 19.

Once he is up to speed with the lads and if he adapts quickly there is no reason to believe he might not make the bench.

From the age of these development players we are signing I think the club is hoping 1 or 2 of them might be ready for the first team squad and make the bench if needed.

We’re playing the long game here. The players we’re getting so far are to improve the squad, but not instantly.

Im gonna make some wild predictions now.
We will qualify for cl in 4th.
We will reach a cup semi.
    We will sign debuchy.
We will sign a player that will make people go “wow. We were in for him?”
Pardew will get manager of the year again.
Amalfitano and koura will be in the French euro 2016 squad if not the world cup squad.

    How’s that for……….optimism……..

Tiote should enter the pitch with the Undertaker’s theme song. His pressence alone already strikes fear into the opposition. But have the theme song play as he enters…gaurenteed theres gonna be dozens of stains on the opposition’s pants.

Pardew’s Plan B is to bring through the youngsters

No CB in ? Tavernier is very close
No DM cover for a suspended Tiote ? ….Give Bigi three games.
No ACM cover for Cabaye …take your pick
No striker cover ….Obertan reinevented as Henry ?

Pardew is a very shrewd manager which is why he’s managing and we’re blogging and not the other way around. This young lad Koura looks the real deal…I’m chuffed to bits with the quality youngsters we’re bringing in… That’s Plan B….not an endless list of if we can’t get Douglas we’ll got for Sakho etc etc etc.

Les Grossman… there is one guy on here who is a total f***wit but I didn’t think it was you…Forget the homophobic slagging off you’re giving Thump..you are arguing semantics about a release clause about which you are speculating so untwist the knickers and just use a little less offensive language …. it ruins the good points you make. BTW Ba won’t go if he doesn’t want to regardless of any clause …Pards has been nurturing him recently if you hadn’t noticed…

Hi ho… and off to work we go

I dont care about transfers anymore…..transfer windows used to be exciting but now so much rubbish is written in papers you dont believe any of it and have no idea what is actually going on.

I dont care if we sign messi, ronaldo and van persie or if we sign heskey, boumsong and kevin phillips.

I just want the season to start and watch the lads play football.
