Report Of Debuchy Ready To Join Inter-Milan Is Likely False

tallkSPORT has put out a report that says Inter Milan will win the race to sign Debuchy, but they offer no evidence of this, other than just saying that Newcastle have missed out on Mathieu.

Mathieu Debuchy – reports that Inter are likely to sign him

But this is contrary and flies in the face of all recent reports about the status of Debuchy, and only last Sunday Yohan Cabaye said that his friend wants to come to Newcastle, although a fee has not yet been agreed between Lille and Newcastle for the player.

The news in talkSPORT is that Lille have demanded £8.6M for Debuchy, while Newcastle have yet to offer more than £6.3M,  and it’s supposed to be because of this impasse, that  has opened the door for Inter Milan, who are preparing to offer Lille £6.6M plus add-ons to secure Debuchy’s signature.

We’re not sure how to react to this story, well we do – it’s simply not true.

If it is true,  it will be the biggest shock of the transfer season so far, and after trolling the internet to get some back-up to the story we cannot find any news that corroborates this story – picky picky.

And indeed the only thing we found were some reports in Italy over the weekend that Inter-Milan had actually withdrew from the race for Debuchy.

The talkSPORT story is very short, and this one will be short too.

We simply don’t believe it.

Firstly I dont believe this as its on TalkSport, and they are never right.

The thing that does worru me though with this is the Cabaye comments yesterday. It puts a difficult angle on the deal as it would seem that Yohan could potentially damage his relationship with the board is Debuchy isnt signed.

At the end of the day Debuchy is probably worth about 7 million tops in relative terms. I hope the board stump it up . It could lose us Cabaye in the near future.

It would be very strange if true, It’s only the fee holding this deal up I think. I’m sure it will get sorted soon but noway would Debuchy have a sudden change of mind now unless Cabs is off, that would be worrying.

I must admit I dont care what happens with Debuchy now gone on too long either nut up or shut up about it

Buy him or move on we know the price we know how much we will pay if they are miles apart them move on to someone were its closer. Am sure Carr has more than 1 full back in his tank

I think we have scouted and signed the young guns who are on the verge of first team callup and now its time to sign players for the starting 11

I dont think we will go through this window without signing any first team players after it was obvious last season we needed reinforcements.

I reckon we will make 2 signing (hopefully) this week. Maybe by thurs or fri. Its just a hunch

I don’t see how people could claim this would be “The biggest transfer shock of the summer” if we didn’t sign Debuchy!?!?!?

Lets look at a few simple facts….we’ve had god knows how many months to meet Lille’s asking price, we havn’t…… Inter Milan (Despite what people seem to think on here) on one of the biggest teams in WORLD FOOTBALL. We can’t compete with them, if you think we can…..seriously, get a grip! They would have no problem paying 8m for him, and would probably offer him better wages than us. Big deal if Cabaye and Debuchy are good mates….So are Andy Carroll and Kevin Nolan, and we all know Big Andy won’t sign for West Ham!!!!

Don’t get me wrong, I’d love for us to sign Debuchy. I just wouldn’t be at all surprised if he ended up at Inter Milan.

Didnt Lille intially ask for 7m? If we offered 6.3m, why cant we find a middle ground and get this resolved. Its not rocket science. Holding out over 700k is plain stupid for a world class player when u know Simpson wont be signing a new contract

    @naptoon

I have no doubt Debuchy would love to come to SJP. But my point is that we’ve surley known for a long time what Lille’s asking price is, and yet have failed to meet it….this gives other teams (such as Inter Milan) the chance to cough up the money get the jump and start talking to Debuchy.

If Inter agreed a fee with Lille and offered Debuchy £40-£50k a week, would he would say “no thanks, i’m going to see if Newcastle after 12 weeks of talks are going to actually make Lille an acceptable offer?” I think he would sign for Inter tomorrow, just my opinion of course….

Latest in todays Chronic is that Debuchy is pencilled in to fly in tomorrow. Also Newcastle have someone in the directors box at Carrow Rd to watch Anita and that Van Der Weil has been offered to us and his reps are waiting to see if Debuchy goes through.
