It’s Great To Still Have Demba Ba At Newcastle

It’s August 1st, and presumably the deadline for Demba Ba’s release clause for £7M in his contract has now run out, and that’s good news for Newcastle – so with any luck we’ll have Papiss Cisse and Demba Ba up front next season – and that cannot be bad.

Demba Ba – he kept his word and stayed on Tyneside

With all the reports about Demba Ba leaving Newcastle this summer, we have to hand it to the Senegal striker, and he said all along that he didn’t want to leave Newcastle, and he was true to his word – good man.

And let’s face it, these are the types of players we want at Newcastle, the ones who want to be here, and those who are proud to wear the black and white strips of Newcastle.

I just wanted to acknowledge Demba Ba and thank him for staying at Newcastle, when it would have been so easy for him to cash in for a much bigger wage elsewhere.

Now we hope that Newcastle will negotiate a new deal with him, but if the local papers are to be believed,  that will not be until next summer.

That’s a long way off and we hope that Demba will have knocked in quite a few more goals for Newcastle before then.

Bottom line – it’s great to have Demba Ba still at Newcastle United.

I don’t think any of our players will want to leave and think we will get at least 3 first team sauad signings before the first game against spurs can’t wait for the season to start

A good source has told me this morning that Liverpool were waiting for the clause to expire before coming in with a big money bid.

Expect Ba to be gone by the end of the week lads. He wasn’t 100% sure on the next bit, but you may see a certain pony tailed wonder coming the other way.

Just passing on the info guys… 😉

I really think we need vurnon Anita!

He is the one player that we are in for that could truly evolve our team.

Douglas would be depth, Debuchy an upgrade, Remy a luxury but Anita would take us forward as a footballing team.

Alongside Tiote and Cabaye he would transform our 11 enough to control games, dictate the play and increase our ability to win back the ball.

He for me is a must and the singular most important signing we could/should make.

In 2-3 years Bigi, Abied and Vuckic will be immense but for the immediate future Anita needs to be purchased.

Ibizatoon. why would the bindippers wait till his buy out clause expired before putting a bid in for BA? surely they could have got him on the cheap before today. anyway its good news all round as i believe BA will stay and we will bring in either Remy or Rhodes…

Glad to see you are still writing ‘1st’ Indian and bringing so much to the blog! :-/

On Demba, thrilled to bits to have him with us still! Now it would take SERIOUS money to prise him away. With the training and real time to gel, I’m sure we can find a way to play our Senegalese pair together!

Watched Anita last night against norwich. I agree with Beattie. He is a must for me. Can pick out the perfect pass and can get the ball out of defence and into attack easily

He is a defensive midfielder that is a deep playmaker and can dictate the play.

Often people compare him to Seedorf but I would say he is like a mini Pirlo that is technically inferior but defensively superior.

He also offers versaitillity and can fill in at the full back positions.

Chron saying there is transfer summit today. Yesterday, they said debuchy was having his medical today. The local media talk more sh-te than anybody – they haven’t a blo-dy clue, that is why I stopped buying all local papers years ago, and just peruse the headlines on this website. If there has to be a summit when we haven’t made a major signing only 3 weeks before the season, suggests the famous transfer policy is in trouble!

To Everybody – I have now seen TDKR so spoil away I don’t care if anyone else hasn’t seen it ha ha. Just going to write a full synopsis and post it here at random in the middle of a footy-related chat so give me a minute…

    Don’t agree Jimmy.

I think they would see him as cover to that position whilst playing him in his strongest position.

I’m sure you are right though because of your links to the club and years of experience.

Anita/Tiote/Cabaye would be as good a mid3 as any EPL team

    Jimmy

Pards likes adaptable players and Anita fits that but has shone as DM rather than FB, though he can do both.

I think Pardew had a lot to do with this, he worked hard to convince him to stay, reminded him on many occasions that he was loved by the fans and that the grass isn’t always greener. Little things like getting that strawberry juice he drinks in the shop all add up.

Surely Anita is being signed to play alongside Tiote. 2 holders, santon & debuchy (if he ever signs!!) bombing down the wing but balanced out by mr t and Anita. Cabs, HBA and Marv, then rotate Cissé and Ba should they still struggle to play together….which I hope they won’t.

Beattie – keep it friendly. I think you will find that Pardew has already stated that he views Anita as full back. Think about it, If they’re quibbling about the amount needed to buy Debuchy, do you really believe that they will pay a minimum of £5m to buy Anita just as cover. Don’t think so. By the way, I was proved to be correct when |I told you what the Debuchy situation was at the weekend, when you were being told by the media that he would be signing Tuesday/Wednesday.
