it’s comments like yours to hatem’s better than messi that show what a know-it-all you think you are when it comes to footy.

why make a dig at someone who disagrees with you? I’m sorry, but this preseason has been anything but exemplary. we’ve played with zero cohesion and as to the team pards will pick, well, that’s anyone’s guess. we’ve picked up zero first-teamers while losing three.

fair play, you’re an optimist. why berate others for not joining in your blind allegiance?

I fully expect some serious movement in the transfer window following the closing olympic ceremony today.

I think next week will be a big one.

Davy has a point concerning Hatems, he’s mouthing off time and time again, and is incapable of making a compelling argument without bashing or namecalling.
    Just go through the threads.

On another note, his “oppinions” examplifies those who’ve got little to no recollection of past deeds. Last pre-season was the poorest one in the last 10 years for me. Visas, injuries, results, it was all going against us.
This years been better, not great, but better.
How did we end up last year? Do people not realise that pre-season is about fitness, testing and trying out shapes?
It’s called goldfish memory, and it shows that some people rely more on their feelings than footy knowledge. Hence why Davy says Hatems got little footy knowledge, and i agree.

who cares? is he not aloud to voice his opinion without being hounded?

personally i’m optimistic for the season ahead. I just think our lack of signings again speaks volumes to our owner’s true ambitions. sure, every owner wants to be in the CL like Ashley has said (via Llambias and Pards) but just because he would like to doesn’t mean he’ll finance it

the worst part of it in my mind is that heavy investment is not needed. 15-20mil spent on the right players, the ones GC has worked so tirelessly scouting, would be enough to give us a SERIOUS push towards that fourth spot, maybe even higher. sadly, it’s not going to happen

No matter what happens this season, you’ll not catch me coming on here and bashing players. Everybody from every club has a shocker once in a while. I’m a supporter, and that’s what ill do, support. Support my beloved team. This isn’t a swipe at anybody as I haven’t read the comments, but I just know people would have been at it since we lost, I jus know it. My support is deadbolted to the floor, it don’t crumble after the odd dodgy game.

Many people care mate, that’s why u’ll always see any random person slag Hatems off, cause he’s done it to most of us already.
    Enough on that subject.

I think the season will be a good one too, i think we’ll have a big chance as any to grab a trophy, i really do.
Wethere it speaks volumes on MA or not, i dunno mate. I know they’re firm belivers in value for money, and won’t stray from that no matter how the club gets.
I understand that it makes people second guess their ambition, ofc i do, but personally i wont judge until the windows closed.
For me, they’re simply following the structure they’ve set, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.

no one would be moaning if we were 20 pts clear. numbskull

and on Roman, i’m sorry but i’ve seen enough of him to know he’s not a winger. He’s an ACM but pards will play him out of position. Vuckic is not a winger, well, he’s a horrible one who has now been played there THREE times this preseason. Vuckic is a second striker and all that has been done this preseason is a few shots to a fragile self-confidence in a young player. Simmo at CB? Why did Tavs not even get a run out at FB? Sure, he did well at CB but he’s played FB his whole freakin’ life ffs!

Yeah, we’ve got some great youngsters but pards used this preseason to vet them, in my mind, horribly.

and i never mentioned anything about the quality of our opposition. why are you continually bringing up points i haven’t even closely ventured towards making?? are you that thick, man? on that note i will say this: didn’t see Braga, Olympiakos were abysmal and Fenerbache played us off the park

Be waiting along time until NUFC are 20 points clear and 3 games to go. In fact I will be dead before that was ever to happen.
Apart from Amalfitano and possibly Sammy, the others are part of the Development squad unless a mountain of injuries occur.
Senior signings are required. Would have been great to have brought some in by now but as long as 4 are in by 31 August 2012 then all should be good and I for one will be more hopeful for a good season. If no senior players are added then the bottom line is we will struggle so be prepared for that.

To say we have lost 3 first team players and brought none in us misleading.

Amal is 22 so he will be straight in the first team squad. He may have played 2 division in France, same as bigi did with coventry but thy doesn’t mean they can’t be ready for the first team.

People want clyne, zaha, Jordan Rhodes, etc when they have maybe more games but still not at the highest level.

Yesterday’s defeat was nothing to do with a being a poor team it was down to lack of application.

That defence which will cost us top ten according to some got us 5th and gave us an 11 game unbeaten run.

And comments like we only need 3 players at 20 million to get us champs league is silly. There are 7 teams goin for 4 spots and I can see man utd and city getting two as always. Then Chelsea have spent big on good players so they should get one.

Also 20 million on fees turns into 40+ million when you add wages so a lot of money.

Yes we’re in Europe now prove to us the fans that the fat controller wants success from the club rather than making his money back… He hasn’t won me over yet.

    Relegation unforgivable

Sports direct arena – unforgivable – people say it’s for extra revenue and where’s that?? 1.4 mil on youth. Thanks sports direct I salute you

The defence is only as good as the midfield that is covering it.

We had nothing to offer in the central area yesterday and the main culprit was Raylor, hence why he was dragged off after 30 minutes an why after that we only conceded once more.

The question shouldn’t be why we haven’t signed anyone. That should come at the end of the month.

The question is why has Pardew continuously played players in odd positions and refused to play a full strength team once.

Jonas at AM was terrible, Raylor at CM ridiculous, Vuckic as ST is daft, Amalfitano as WG ludicrous.

These are the things we need to talk about. These are the reasons we have played poorly. These are the reasons we got stuffed yesterday.

I think pardew knows or is concerned he hasn’t got some targets in.

Therefore he has used players out of position to see if they can at there. Some can and some can’t.

Pre season is fitness, match sharpness, learning each others movements, results are not significant.

In fact a good pre season has a hammering in, it gives the players motivation to do better, stops the players thinking they can coast into the season.

Yes I accept we would all love Ashley to spend 20/30/40 million, but it’s not like many clubs have spent that much.

I think bigi will be in the first team squad, he seems very good. He won’t start every game but I expect he will make 20 appearances for us.
