Dutch International Flying Into Newcastle For Medical

The Daily Mail is reporting that Vurnon Anita is flying into Newcastle to have a medical today,  and if all goes well we may have our very first senior signing of the summer – well that didn’t take too long did it? 😀

Vurnon Anita – flying in for discussions and medical

It seems that the deal has been agreed at €8M, which translates to around £6.3M depending on the conversion rate, which is why you see slightly differing amounts,  so that seems a very good deal for a really top player.

There’s not much more new news than this, but it seems extremely likely that he will be in Newcastle today, since Vurnon has said he wants to have a discussion with Alan Pardew before he signs.

And Newcastle still have to discuss compensation with the lad and his agent, and they can do all of that on Tyneside, and then if all is okay, he could then have his medical and sign along the dotted line.

And the flight from Amsterdam to Newcastle is a very short one.

It seems that Cheick Tiote is likely to miss the game against Tottenham, although Colocccini should be fit, but both players will be withdrawn from their International teams that play on Wednesday evening.

And if Newcastle can get Vurnon in early this week – like today – he’ll have time to understand how Newcastle play the game, and could make his debut as the holding midfielder in place of Cheick Tiote on Saturday.

Vurnon has three International caps for Holland so far, and since he can also play at left back too, he will be a very valuable addition to the side, and he’s a class player.

We hope to hear some additional good news on his move today.

Should be good I trust Carrs scouting and I believe in Pards vision for the team (even if I don’t always believe his interviews). Gutted to hear Colo won’t make the Argie team though hope he gets another crack at it at a later date

As for Tiote well its his standard injury smokescreen for a move to Chelsea he does it every year

Londtoon….Knowing them they’re probably assuming this is what’s happening. Would seem a somewhat likely way for it to happen though, so fingers crossed.

I’ve seen people mentioning Debuchy again. Have we actually increased our bid? Is this just more Twitter rubbish?

    Ian

judging by last season, we are very vulnerable when our right rb is joining the attack, because HBA can’t help defense and our CB are not quick enough. While on left side we have Jonas covering Santon when he go forward. We need RB who is not too attack minded. If Debuchy and HBA busy attacking, we will have problem against counter attack especially quick players like Bale. Raylor did a great job, because he didn’t go too far on the attack, he did crossings from deep. This is only my opinion, don’t know if it’s right or not.

Must say this transfer is great news, will allow myself to become excited when he is holding up the shirt.

Whether we get the lad over the line or not, it does prove that Carr and Pardew are scouting a great type of player. Just a shame we cant get the targets in a bit quicker. The Debuchy saga has been a fcuking living nightmare.

what some fans don’t understand is not only do we pay more money our players pay lower taxes to that’s why the premier league is so popular & that’s what Debuchy wants to come for. we have special tax fiddles for top footballers with some paying less tax % than shop workers.

So…we can expect more of the same this week then…lot’s of refreshing pages waiting for some breaking news.

At least this goes someway to showing the club are working on things….just in their own way and in their own time.

I think we’ll be ok this season. Bring on Spurs.

It’s nearly that time for mass hard ons amongst the entirety of the blog.

It’s been flaccid for a long time.

I hope Pards sells the club well and tells anita all he wished to hear and more.

Also I’ve always wanted a nufc player who rocks dreadlocks.

The last one was Carroll and rangers shot locks so it’ll be cool to get a proper pair in!

I just looked fella and actually English teams have to pay more because we have the highest tax out of all the top leagues in the world. It’s why ayers want so much to come play here and why a lot of players just won’t come here.
That and the weather plus all the ugly fat chav women.

Ibiza- on the way out but good to have you back and looking on the bright side. In Ibiza it must be difficult not to be of cheery disposition.
You have largely missed a lot of Whinging before euphoria broke out
yesterday afternoon with the Anita news. But even that prompted one clown to see it as a good time to drop Santon to the reserves to gain experience. Think he was thinking of Adam Campbell after his cameo role.

@31. ToonBry. Not according to the article i’ve just read.
Re : Tax Rates in different countries.
    According to this research :-
    http://insideiim.com/football-club-finances-continued/
While France,Holland and especially Spain (“the Beckham factor”) have different tax rates for domestic v immigrant players, the list half way down the page shows that Dutch and French (also consider proposed 75% rate earlier this year) domestic players pay less % tax on their salary if they move to England.
    England : 55.2%
    France : 61.1%
    Holland : 59.7%

Interesting that Spain has an amazing tax rate to encourage international players to move to Spain, ie Beckham,Ronaldo etc

Very interesting, and worth a quick read if you’re that way inclined. I’m certain that this is one factor as to why Carr is scouting France,Holland and Germany in particular!
