Mathieu Debuchy Injured In France’s 0-0 Draw With Uruguay

Newcastle target Mathieu Debuchy lasted only 28 minutes in France’s 0-0 draw with Uruguay at the Stade Océane in Le Havre last night, before he had to come off the field after injuring his ankle, but we don’t know how bad the injury is.

Mathieu Debuchy – sustained an ankle injury last night in Le Havre

If Newcastle get Vurnon Anita in, the Evening Chronicle is suggesting that Newcastle will not bother going after the 27 year-old French International with a new bid, and that’s because the right footed Anita can play in either full-back position as well as in defensive midfield.

It was after 28 minutes that Debuchy received treatment on the field for his ankle injury, but the 10 times capped french International could not continue, and he was replaced by Christophe Jallet of PSG.

So if Newcastle are still interested in getting Debuchy, and we simply don’t know if they are still interested, this could possibly affect any potential deal, if the injury is serious.

From all accounts France should have won the game last night, and they hit the post twice, but they just couldn’t get the win in Didier Deschamps first game in charge as the new French manager.

It’s actually being reported that it’s a heel injury and that he’s having a scan.

    I don’t think it’ll be too serious.

The evening chronicle is full of crap.

Why wouldn’t we go for Debuchy after we have signed a DM who can do a shift at FB?

We will still go after a FB.

Beattie m8 i truly believe the debuchy deal was dead in the water b4 he got injured i think weve moved onto other targets Ashley wont put up with the bully boy tactics of the LOSC president it would be a mistake as other clubs would then try the same, any way i have my fingers and toes and antin else i can get crossed that we go for ally cissokho im a big believer of balance in a side and with ally and santon rampaging down the flanks it would be beautiful

Not another Debuchy topic ah ma gad!!!

Just kidding. I watched the game. Debuchy had a niggle from the previous game he played so I have no idea why he started this game tbh.

I still hope we sign him before the window closes. He’s a Geordie already. 😛

think the deal will be still on for debuchy… £8 million rather than €8million.. dont know if a 27 year old fits into the policy… a nice to have – not need to have.. we have plenty of talent at RB.. dont think also we should use Anita as a LB.. a partnership with Tiote would be amazingly tight DM for us… Cabaye can roam free… that would be exciting to watch… anyone on for te spurs match… got my tickets today!!! 🙂

    Sorry GFH –

I am just sick of everyone forgetting about what he actually did for us last year.

Do they really think he will be content playing half the games this year?! Or even Cisse for that matter?!

They are paid to play, not play one miss one! Its ridiculous, and to actually add to the comment surely two strikers in the box offer a greater chance of actually scoring?

Also I was slated for saying away EL fixtures have an effect on the team playing in the PL the weekend after. I was told these are modern professional and should be able to handle the fitness levels required?
    Repost from previous article –

So again why cant Ba and Cisse play in the same team?

    They all contradict themselves!

People on this blog post something, forget what they say in the post, then post something else saying the complete opposite to the original post!

Thank you to all those here who have voiced their appreciation of mushy peas.

You will never know how gratifying it is to realise my life’s work was not in vain, because I, as the inventor of mushy peas had to fight many battles to ensure the food conglomerates did not get their evil way and re-brand them as squishy, squashy, sloppy etc etc. Fact

If we did sign Debuchy i think there would be no more articles on here except match reports.

No problems paw 1250 , I agree with lots that you said , I imagine we’ll see different formations , home and away , as well as In Europe/Cups , so Ba will get plenty of play , and I for one hope he can get back on the goal trail Straightaway. Then we’ll remember why it was we were so worried he might leave in the summer.

Also if we are playing a lone striker why would we want to buy Carroll or any other striker?

Whoever came would come in as a back up to a back up!? Then Ameobi would be his back up! Seriously?! Think about it!

Especially for any transfer fee over £6m, which several people stated to yesterday why would we buy a £6m player for sitting on the bench in regards to Anita!

Same principle applies here! Why pay even £5m for a back up to a back up striker? Surely that 5m can go on Douglas, or another defender?

Arguably a contender for first team place, and a valuable back up (if he was a back up) considering STaylor injury history!

You guys have no logic you just want to spend money for the sake of it!

    @Pawl post 22

2 strikers in the box offers more of a goal threat IF you have control of the game and enough of the ball to create chances. You generally get this by winning the midfield battle, sometimes its better to do this with an extra player there rather than CF especially against others teams who play 4-3-3 as they can outnumber you in centre midfield.

We get it btw, you like Ba and 4-4-2 and sometimes it does work and doubtless we will play 4-4-2 this season, very possibly against Spurs with HBA out injured. You dont need to post the same thing over and over though, iv read it more times than a Debuchy thread.

    JD Dubai –

I post the same thing over and over and can 100% guarantee you that I have read 4-2-3-1 more than you have read my repetition of 4-4-2 and Ba!

Infact I would say more than 10 people repeat 4-2-3-1 and listing the player in process the same amount of times Ive posted, it is just because people dont like my opinion they dont want to read it again!

    @pawl

Yes people say they think 4-2-31 is the way forward i agree, i have done it myself. But the way you are going on about it is that everyone else is retarded and wrong and you, YOU are the only one who has any brains or sense and YOU are right and everyone else is definitely wrong.

Your points are as valid as anybody’s, everyone is just giving their opinion after all, i just thought the way you are putting them across isnt the greatest.
