Simpson played well but wasnt better than good. Made a few mistakes and was at fault for Lennon finding space for their goal. Shouldve been sent off and had the opportunity but lacked the ability to fly up the wings a few times.

I think its a fair assesment and I think he did well.

Gotta disagree about Simpson like. Was lucky not to get sent off and was way out of position for their goal

Agree! He made attacking runs, some good crosses with one assist and cleared the ball off Defoe’s chest.

    @GT89

Ahh, right, i forgot that. U’re probably right, why was he here and not at home seeing PSV…
At the same time tho, Pieters visits a few times, and they did happen to play on the same day today.
    Who knows eh.

why would pieters be here when his own club was playing?? gotta be something in it surely

i think pardew wants marveux and gosling for mid-week although i think he probably wanted him close to hand….which he obviously wasnt hahaha

I dont think Simmo was at fault for Lennon finding space HBA should of been tracking him as well but he was no where near either 6 and two 3s for me that. I reckon Simmo did very well today tbh

toonking – If this was facebook i’d like your comment but its not so i’ll just simply say I totally agree with you haha… Bale couldnt get past Simpson first half so he switched over and was beating Santon most times.. even lennon was having trouble getting past Simpson, he played really well and through in some cracking tackles and a couple of last min blocks… Defoe’s goal was Santons fault aswell he totally stopped when it came off Krul

big papisse cisse it was santon who was out of position defends are meant to mark players not run towards the if krul didn’t make the save before defoes rebound then it would have been an own goal as santon mimiced what is meant to be do by forwards.

    WYCD

Watch it again, he backs off when Lennon got the ball and was to central when the ball was played out wide.

Benny shouldve been there yes, but Simmo was also culpable.

isnt Pieters on a long-term injury layoff? Also whats this about Marveaux being ‘missing’ at the game?

Honestly I just dont know or care that much about the Pieters thing atm haha do find it odd he wasent at PSV though our board would flip if one of our injured players rocked up at a different clubs game (who he had been linked heavily with for transfer) when we were playing

    Strange

I think he was being sarcastic about Simpson. He should’ve been sent off and was at fault for their goal. He was also at fault when Defoe and Bale hit the post. Perch was solid at the back though.

We must not have been watching the same game.

Your inssesent protection of Simpson borders on the insane and the only way you can give positive spin is to put Santon in a negative light,

Both full backs did well defensivley. Santon was more of an attacking threat and Simpson did well to get forward and link up.

Those saying Simmo was shit stop talking shit and those saying he was fantastic stop taking drugs.

It wasn’t Santon’s fault as Simpson was out of position in the first place. You could also blame Krul for the lack of communication. Santon had a good game.

    Great result today.
    General view of players
Krul- great saves, little rough though
Santon- excellent going forward, decent defensively bit shaky.
Saylor. For that header thing off the floor to krul, deserves an awesome review.
Perch. Would be happy For him to be backup cb
Simpson – handled bale very well, bit shaky though.
Jonas – good graft as usual
Tiote- tackling great, keeping possession great passing, honestly just terrible 90% of the time.
Cabs – very rough, needed the match experience, will be a lot better at Chelsea.
Ben Arfa. Rough, but still epic. Far from his best and that shows how good he is.
Cisse – rough, some poor positioning needs the match to get back to normal.
Ba – awesome goal. Good runs.
Anita – a little out of his depth, some great passes and very calm on th ball.
Obertan – didn’t see enough to comment really, but could have been better. Probably should have played in a striker role rather than a 5th midfielder
Pardew – excellent fighting skills, we’ll make a wrestler of him yet.

Overall . Very pleased. That wasn’t our best performance by a long shot, and we still beat a strong spurs side. Futures bright people, so no negativity allowed. Was honestly appalled to come out of sjp and instead of hearing good things about beating spurs, loads of people were slagging obertan off. Give the lad a break or he’ll never come good.

Simo debate begins. Without him we would have nothing to discuss! Personally like him but accept a better right back would improve the team. Didnt see much of game as had a poor connection but we were up for it more than spurs

Most of yous are just all caught up with the disliking of Simpson rubbish that yous fail to see that he had a good game and has been a cracking little player for us.. I’m totally sick of the way yous go on about him, some of yous just dont have any sense what so ever and clearly know nothing about football.. He’s a good steady player and has been good for us since the day he signed.. Get a grip, I highly doubt i’ll be commenting on here too much from now on, i’ve had enough of some of the moronic fu*kwits

simpson had a good game, very very lucky to avoid that second yellow, Simpsons duty is to cover the left flank and with bale’s pace simpson did a fine job, Santon on the other flank was just very comfortable with the ball and attacked alot creating oppurtunities

Marveaux wasn’t meant to be on the bench, Ameobi was. But he got injured in the warm up and they couldn’t get hold of Marveaux so Amalfitano went on the bench instead
