Newcastle’s Third Strip Revealed – Photos

12:59 am, Wednesday, August 22nd, 2012 by Ed Harrison · 104 Comments

Newcastle’s third kit for next season is in the new Premier League handbook, and it’s kind of a lime green top, blue shorts and green socks with a blue horizontal stripe on the socks – kind of. :D

It’s certainly a change from the usual, and not a color that Newcastle have had in the past – lime green – so it will be interesting to see when they first wear this strip in the Premier League this season – maybe on Saturday at Chelsea?

In the handbook the top and shorts are described as lime with navy blue trim.

So here are the three strips Newcastle will wear this season, as shown in the handbook:

Newcastle wore their second strip for the first time in the last game of last season at Everton, but it didn’t do us much good – we lost 3-1.

What do you think of the new third strip?

Comments welcome.

What does Ed mean by third kit next season but then says we will be wearing it sometime soonish maybe vs Chelsea?

    Meh

  • 7 ilovetoon8788 // Aug 22, 2012 at 2:00 AM

I still fear the game at Chelsea. Hazard can rip us to shreds. If spurs had scored the 2 woodwork, the game could have been very different. I just hope Chelsea don’t take their chances and we take ours.

Just not 442 and we might give Chelsea a game. 442 and the same first half performance against spurs and we might see a cricket score.

  • 8 stk85 // Aug 22, 2012 at 2:01 AM

    should be alt kid 1
    might buy it!

Ad rather have the orange one from last season again.
Who the f**k mixes navy blue with lime/snotty green?

    Horrible

I see Michael Dawson is going to QPR. I reckon hes a great player..would love for us to jump in and highjack the move

  • 14 American Toon 13 // Aug 22, 2012 at 2:34 AM

decent strip, but we never wear the 3rd one much anyway

  • 15 HBA Blood Twister // Aug 22, 2012 at 2:37 AM

Don’t know why everyone is getting tumescent about Hazard.

He’s had one good game and one shocker (charity shield)

Inconsistant for Lille and will surely take a season to settle in.

  • 16 Rozzy // Aug 22, 2012 at 2:45 AM

I think it will be the European away kit

  • 17 gonz // Aug 22, 2012 at 2:51 AM

Yeah didn’t anyone see Hazard’s impression of David Dunn against Citeh during the Charity Shield?

I can see the same outcome as last year as long as Cisse scores two worldies again. He needs a good performance and now that Ramadan is over he should be more focused.

    HWTL!

  • 18 t00ntime // Aug 22, 2012 at 2:58 AM

Ba scoring again and cisse stops, those 2 together are like a never ending goal machine lol

Cant wait for em to both start scoring, with ben arfa :D class

Anyone else notice how strong ben arfa looked? He looked like he cud tackle, +he cud actually hold players off :O i know that sounds standard but hba seemed to have trouble with that last season. He is getting better each year, give him a right foot and we can debate
    Messi VS ronaldo VS hba

  • 19 Rozzy // Aug 22, 2012 at 3:01 AM

    European away kit

  • 20 ilovetoon8788 // Aug 22, 2012 at 3:08 AM

I still rate arfa brilliance higher than hazard.. Arfa certainly is 1 of the best in the planet in what he does. He danced through spurs defence.

Hideous. Bring back the blue and make the maroon the third kit. Loving the new black and white, though…

  • 24 Toon73 // Aug 22, 2012 at 4:38 AM

Will comment on the strip when I see an official image.

Who needs a Hazard when you have a Ben Arfa? :)

  • 25 steveno7 // Aug 22, 2012 at 5:09 AM

Looking forward to seeing ben arfa rip ash cole to shreds. ha ha

  • 26 jesperfuglsang // Aug 22, 2012 at 6:09 AM

I never seem to get our second or third choice of kit from the designs point of view.

They just look horrible, does not resemble our home kit in any way or anything Newcastle related.

Why are they not taken more seriously?

  • 27 jesperfuglsang // Aug 22, 2012 at 6:28 AM

    *I = we

  • 28 jesperfuglsang // Aug 22, 2012 at 7:28 AM

Why are no people this morning? Is it the article or are people tired from tearing Darren a new one yesterday ;-)

…most have been a long tiring battle ;-) lol

  • 29 stu.toon // Aug 22, 2012 at 7:32 AM

HBA is an awesome talent but you can’t compare him to messi or ronadlo. They scored 133 goals between the 2 of them last season more than our entire team. They are in a diff league to Hatem

  • 30 TorqToon // Aug 22, 2012 at 7:33 AM

Morning Jesper – How are you, sir? I had a little look at the last thread and see Darren fletcher is up to his usual again! Life is never quiet on the blog! :-)

What are your thoughts on Dawson to QPR for (allegedly!) £9.5mil ?? Seems a lot to me for someone who’s injury record isn’t very good.

  • 31 TorqToon // Aug 22, 2012 at 7:35 AM

Stu – just people getting overexcited mate! We have a very special talent at this club – but the lad has a way to go before he can be compared with Messi and ronaldo.

  • 32 stu.toon // Aug 22, 2012 at 7:44 AM

TorqToon- he has a long way to go. I fear the same ppl are also putting too much faith in the likes of Bigirimana, Vuckic and Abeid. They have potential but they aren’t prem league standard yet.

  • 33 darrenfletcher88 // Aug 22, 2012 at 7:45 AM

    Torqtoon, elaborate???

  • 34 TorqToon // Aug 22, 2012 at 7:46 AM

Yeah but they will come good! They just need the correct management which we all know Pards / carver and co will give them. He showed with HBA they they are some of the best man managers in the business.

I see the rags are saying we’ve told liverfool that we won’t up our £12mil bid for carroll and they can either take it or leave it. Smart move I feel.

  • 35 darrenfletcher88 // Aug 22, 2012 at 7:48 AM

Jesper, am sore this morning like

  • 36 TorqToon // Aug 22, 2012 at 7:52 AM

Darren – Of course – By usual tricks you can read the fact that you have a very strong opinion of what is posted in this thread. I’m sure everybody has their own views and opinions, however when you express them you come across angry, rather than passionate about the club. As I said, this blog is never quiet. :-)

  • 37 darrenfletcher88 // Aug 22, 2012 at 7:54 AM

I get angrey at people that mAke stuff up and write stuff to sell it get online hits

  • 38 stu.toon // Aug 22, 2012 at 7:56 AM

I agree that they will come good and that Pards is the man to guide them. Finally think we’ve found a man to build a squad and the board will stick by him. As for AC take it or leave it 12m is sensible, he’s not worth any more than that. Personally I don’t want him back, but it’s another attacking option I suppose.

  • 39 TorqToon // Aug 22, 2012 at 7:58 AM

But mate the Internet is full of people like that!! Christ if we all had a £1 for every bullshit article that has appeared about this club – we’d all be absolutely minted. All you can do is laugh it off if it’s, in your opinion, made up rubbish. Otherwise the angry reaction becomes a reflection on you, and takes away from the crap post/article which initiated it all.

  • 40 gorgonzola ( former Pecorino former to gorgonzola) // Aug 22, 2012 at 7:59 AM

This kit is horrid as is the away one and as is the home one…

  • 41 darrenfletcher88 // Aug 22, 2012 at 7:59 AM

Torq ya right pal, just people on here beleave it,does make me laugh at times,

  • 42 TorqToon // Aug 22, 2012 at 8:03 AM

If we could get a current england international and no.9 for £12mil (making a £23mil profit in the process!) I would take it in a heart beat. If it wasn’t for AC and his history with the club, people would be desperate to sign somebody of his calibre. I agree that our system has moved on since the last time he pulled on the black and white, but I believe he can adjust to our system as part of a rotation. He has a solid left peg so can play ours wide left of a three, he can get on the end of marv / cabs / santons crosses, and can hold up / win balls in the middle of the park and bring our midfielders into the game. I feel some need to put there personal feelings of AC aside and take a look at what the player himself can bring to this club. £12mil – I’d take it.

  • 43 TorqToon // Aug 22, 2012 at 8:06 AM

People will always believe what they want mate, and that’s what makes us human. And that’s what makes this blog great. I enjoy hearing what people perceive is going to happen and if an ITK pops up I like reading what they hear, as it’s a great way to get discussion going. Which is what this is all about after all.

  • 44 eaststandgeordie1982 // Aug 22, 2012 at 8:06 AM

Spuds get adebeyor for 5m bargin

  • 45 TorqToon // Aug 22, 2012 at 8:08 AM

East stand – That is cheap!! It’s what liverfool will have to do if they want to sell AC to us. Paying over the odds for transfers and wages makes it so much harder to shift the players on. When will people learn?!! The Newcastle way is the ONLY way!!! :-)

  • 46 darrenfletcher88 // Aug 22, 2012 at 8:08 AM

12 mill would be a steal, we are one light up top, I think alone is Geordie pride a d passion is what we need., we lacked that at times against the scum last season

  • 50 Gateshead-Mag // Aug 22, 2012 at 8:11 AM

    darrenfletcher

i appreciate it might have wound you up but the only reason people kicked off with you is because you immediately called the person who posted the rumour a ‘dick head’ or something

while i appreciate you might have strong feelings on the matter of rumours or whatever calling people names for no reason really winds people up, the whole daft argument started from there

so while i no your opinions are going to be different from other people i think you need to look at how you put them across

  • 51 stu.toon // Aug 22, 2012 at 8:11 AM

When you consider the scum are bidding about 12m for fletcher then 12m for Andy does seem a bargain. I’m still not convinced he’s what we need though.

  • 52 Expat MAG // Aug 22, 2012 at 8:13 AM

@43 – the fee may be a bargain but I bet his wages are still in excess of £100k per week. Well out of reach of our pay structure, not that we wamnt him like…..

  • 53 Gateshead-Mag // Aug 22, 2012 at 8:14 AM

anyone else read that northeast football banter page on facebook??

  • 54 TorqToon // Aug 22, 2012 at 8:15 AM

*dating ????? Now that WOULD be wierd!!

Try ‘stating’ – cheers for that autocorrect ! :-)

  • 58 jesperfuglsang // Aug 22, 2012 at 8:20 AM

Morning Torq…well what are my thoughts on Dawson ;-) I don’t mind as a player, but as you say he’s very injurypron and he is 28. I probably could find better players and if QPR have tabled a bid of £9.5M for him I salute Levy :-)

I was having a go at West Ham’s business sense a few days ago; it seems they are not the only one without a clue B-) lol

  • 59 TorqToon // Aug 22, 2012 at 8:25 AM

Jesper – Very true. With the fact that west ham still owe clubs money, yet they make a £19mil bid for Carroll, which they admitted, was beyond their means!! Has the whole rangers situation not taught them anything?

  • 60 psutty80 // Aug 22, 2012 at 8:28 AM

Reading agree fee with Marseille for Jordan SAyew, for only 3.5 million?! WTF! Put Cheeky 6 million offer for Remy! They must be desperate to sell.

  • 63 Ian Toon // Aug 22, 2012 at 8:30 AM

Ibiza- a very good morning . There is always sunshine when your around.- geddit! My Toon thoughts are on signing Douglas . Bearing in mind that if you look at goals and assists last season from the defence – in the Premiership- only Santon and Raylor made a contribution. More starkly Colo, Simpson, Saylor, Perch and Williamson didn’t register. Pardew has highlighted this as something to change. Douglas provides an imposing presence and is just what we need. Lies lies and statistics but in is essential that defenders chip in
if we are to progress. Saylor scored in the friendly against Olympiakos
and Simpson created a chance for Ba’s goal on Saturday. But hey let’s
    tie up the Douglas deal.

  • 64 jesperfuglsang // Aug 22, 2012 at 8:33 AM

Torq…If I were Shef Utd I would be angry at West Ham knowing they still owed close to £25M. but were spending money for fun :-)

Without being malicious I sort hope West Ham shares the same fate as Rangers…now that was probably a bit malicious.

    Strike that :-) lol

  • 65 bazrazmataz // Aug 22, 2012 at 8:34 AM

There has not been much speculation since the Anita signing I’m convinced there won’t be anymore through the door , we can still do well with what we have but just a 3 mil net investment is very disapoining , I hope I’m wrong I just don’t see it , big mike seems obsessed with making us profitable.

  • 66 Gateshead-Mag // Aug 22, 2012 at 8:34 AM

    jesper

i dont mind west ham as much as other london clubs, now i definately wouldnt mind seeing QPR go down to league 2

  • 67 Ian Toon // Aug 22, 2012 at 8:35 AM

Jesper- Gooday sport. Another sunshine contributor things are looking up. I know that by saying Gooday this won’t be challenged by you.
I like to start the day on the front foot and with your ” I don’t know what it is in English but we have a saying.” I see we’ve told Liverpool( allegedly) that it’s £12 million take it our leave it for AC.

  • 68 Ian Toon // Aug 22, 2012 at 8:38 AM

QPR have paid over the odds but Dawson will improve a poor defence. Sir Bobby rated him as a young player and he’s a good solid
    player.

  • 69 Ibizatoon - Back by popular demand // Aug 22, 2012 at 8:39 AM

Ian….Is it because i’m one big ray of sunshine? Surely not because my name is Ibiza and it’s always sunny here ;)

I think the Douglas deal will happen. Everyone was panicking Fulham have beaten us to it, but apparently the FC chairman has said no offers still. So we’re still in there.

With STaylor back, i’d imagine a few goals will come from him, they seem to set up corners around him, so you’d hope.

Haven’t spoken to you in a while, how was Lords?

  • 70 pizzicatochan // Aug 22, 2012 at 8:39 AM

There are actually two Ayew’s in the team. Which one?

  • 71 jesperfuglsang // Aug 22, 2012 at 8:43 AM

Gateshead…QPR are a candidate for me to go down, but iit seems they are doing what ever they can to sign them out of it.

They might just make it, but I don’t like the way they do it!

Teams like Swansea, Norwich, Reading and Southampton has done better with less.

£12m is a good deal imo for Carroll. People will say there are cheaper out there and I’m sure there probably is. However, he is an English international and I don’t know where you can get an English ST, 22 years old for that money.

    Time will tell on Carroll.

As for people saying they don’t think we’ll buy anyone else, we may not, but I don’t think it’s due to wanting to keep net spend at £3m, it will depend on what negotiations we can complete. Just because we have say £17m left to spend, does not mean we will just blow it or what they perceive as pay over the odds for a player, that’s just not going to happen imo. It would seem though that they ARE trying to get players in. 9 Days to go!!!

  • 74 LGFUAD21 // Aug 22, 2012 at 8:44 AM

Sinclair only £6m according to papers.

That would be a good bit of business for City. Bad for him though, unlikely to get into the squad.

Wonder why we wont go in for that.

  • 75 Ian Toon // Aug 22, 2012 at 8:45 AM

Hazard was the French footballer of the year for the last two years I believe. He’s class and young so he likely will get even better. Some of those on here who wrote him off after a friendly Charity shield game
need to think again. But it’s one game and Pardew and other managers will look at how best to nullify his influence.

  • 76 Gateshead-Mag // Aug 22, 2012 at 8:46 AM

    ibizatoon

i think if douglas does leave his club this window then wel get him as im pretty sure his club have said theyl accept offers,

with debuchy i have a feeling if we fail to land him before september 1st wel get him in january for cheaper, sure we could manage without him till then, no-matter what kets says

  • 77 Ibizatoon - Back by popular demand // Aug 22, 2012 at 8:46 AM

French….Thought it was lime and dark blue, not black?

QPR spending somewhat reminds me of Newcastle in the past. Panic buys. So glad we don’t do it anymore. Signings like Hoilett are on the face of it great to the fans, but ultimately what you’re buying is an under performing ego.

  • 78 darrenfletcher88 // Aug 22, 2012 at 8:46 AM

  • 79 ajcrawfs // Aug 22, 2012 at 8:47 AM

i really hope we don’t get Carroll. I mean we have two strikers who are arguably much better and Shola for back up with a wonder kid called Campbell waiting in the wings!

We don’t need strikers we need a CB and possibly a RB/LB, that’s all

  • 80 Ian Toon // Aug 22, 2012 at 8:48 AM

Hyphen…..(Incidentally, please let me know if this adopted name drives you insane)….I agree on both Douglas and Debuchy. If neither arrive now however, I am relatively comfortable waiting until January, we have a capable squad, unless injuries start piling on, then we may find ourselves wishing we had managed to get some players in. Such is life :)

  • 85 Ibizatoon - Back by popular demand // Aug 22, 2012 at 8:52 AM

Ian….as I’m sure you will too. Take care.

AJ…..We don’t “need” Carroll, but one injury to Cisse, Ba or even Shola and it’ll be a completely different story. How would you feel about say, Ba & Shola starting with Campbell as super sub for a large part of the season?

I do agree mind, CB and FB are my priorities, but I do think we need another young striker, whether that is AC or not.

  • 86 Gateshead-Mag // Aug 22, 2012 at 8:53 AM

    ibiza

na mate was actually thinking about changing my name to just ‘hyphen’ hahaha

I feel confident in our squad, get cabaye and tiote up to speed, with marveux and anita to be eased in aswell and wev got a very exiting squad imo

gunna get myself to the home leg of the europa as iv never been to a match since wolves last season and the tickets are only 15 quid, actually cant wait im like a kid waiting for christmas hahaha

  • 87 LGFUAD21 // Aug 22, 2012 at 8:55 AM

On Carroll, I cant see why people are so caught up about him. He literally doesnt offer much to us. Ba can use his head and we have built a squad of players that prefer to play along the ground since he left. Cisse is a poacher too. Both can be target men but have more to their game than Carroll, especially Ba.

Carroll’s finish with his feet is nothing to desire even for £10m. He has had one good half season in the premier league.

Look at our 3 strikers in the squad, 4 inc Sammy and its clear there is one type we are missing. That is a Remy or Hoillett. Someone that can create their own chances.

Sammy could become one and so could Campbell. But if people want a here and now ready one Carroll isnt the answer.

If people want an aerial threat then Toivonen is a better option in my opinion. Provides an excellent aerial threat. has as much pace as Ba but a much stronger game on the ground. Powerful shot. Only thing I can see against him in the debate is his age.

On top of that Toivonen would be better able to link up with another striker as he can play up top or in the ‘hole’. And Pardew seems to prefer playing a striker in that position.

I think people are put off by Toivonen as he isnt a familiar name like Remy. But he would be if he wasnt a) in the dutch league and b) overshadowed by Ibrahimovic in the Sweden squad.

  • 88 LGFUAD21 // Aug 22, 2012 at 8:56 AM

I see fletcher the fascist is here again to silence us from free thinking and debate.

  • 89 Transfer Sage // Aug 22, 2012 at 8:57 AM

Teams are desperate to stay up this season so are spending over the odds.

Apparently sky tv money increases by 70% next season on the new deal and all the BT money comes in.

That’s just going to make clubs take even bigger gambles to be in the premier league.

If QPR can’t stay up this year I could really see the club going through a very rough time.

theres the article, a fair few dindipper fans commenting underneath about bein ‘held to ransome’ and havin their ‘pants pulled down by ashley’ the ‘dictator’ hahaha

    Gateshead

Ashley knows all too well the dangers of the transfer market.

He wasn’t clued up so did the right thing in hiring an expert to advise. Unfortunately he picked Dennis wise who had no clue. He paid for the signing of xisco with his job and now fortunately we have Carr.

Liverpool seemed to hire a bunch of clueless muppets and so Ashley is taking advantage of their situation. That’s why he is successful in business.
