It’s a bad draw in one regard, but it’s the best time to face them.
They’ll be playing reserves and fringes, and so will we to an extent.
Best chance we’ll have of beating them.
If we don’t, then more focus on the EL 🙂

This could be a blessing in disguise. In a way, if we get knocked out we can focus on the PL and Europa – we need to raise our profile in Europe, much more important than the plastic cup.

PL, Europa and FA cup are our priorities this season with this squad. In that order.

Left back and right back cover gone even before we’ve really started a hard season, and to top it all Pardew saying he’s going to have a word with the chairman to see if we can get cover??
Lost for words, also says we never had any intention on signing any defensive cover at all!

We’ll play a half 1st team probably and they’ll play their full reserve team maybe a few 1sts, I think we can definitely beat them!

Sick of this window like, this was the boards chance to show some ambition and drive us forward without spending stupid money we could of added a few quality players in positions we really need to go along with what we’ve already got and we would of been challenging, but no the board have probably let us down again and I wouldnt be suprised to see one of our better players go tomorrow and state lack of ambition as a cause aswell… proper sick now, we’ll be lucky to finish in the top 8 with all these extra games

Now, is it ANY surprise that the two players in the first 11 that were played tonight were at FB (simpson) and CB (Collo). They will both play on Sunday.

If that doesn’t demonstrate the lack of depth in quality in those positions I don’t know what does. Will we sign a CB or/and a FB tomorrow? I think out business this window is finished.

Good draw in a way, since SAF won’t give a toss about the outcome and will rest all his best players. Depends what sort of team Pardiola puts out – if he wants it, go for it!

We will have a chance. My guess would be its Man Utd reserves v Newcastle reserves!

We are even more in need of a defender now! Perch and RTaylor injured! We have Williamson as the only senior back up. Then Tav and Goode! That is not good enough hope we go for Mbiwa, Sahko, Douglas or Debuchy!

As for game tonight we were awful! Handful of ok appearences! Felt sorry for Ba nearly every ball was poor when going into the box.

Obertan had a good game, still he is not PL quality! Not yet anyway!

Biri had a poor game, probably the first poor game I’ve seen him play.

Gosling wasn’t that bad people are slating him and he didn’t do to bad.

Vuckic has been over hyped he was very average. No pace, good movement and not bad control but he is really slow!

We were lucky tonight! Very lucky!

Carroll made right choice, he will flourish at West Ham and Sam will have him scoring
    10+ goals!

    My transfers for tomorrow –

    Ryan Babel – FREE
Debuchy or Mbiwa – 7-8m or Sakho 8-9m

Think Babel on FREE is a bargain!!

Just to let everybody know re Carroll.

I’ve been following you man Ian Ayres(Liverpools managing director)’s son on twatter lately.

He’s a Newcastle fan & he was adamant all along that Carroll wasn’t coming back.

To cut the story short,we only ever made one bid for Carroll & that was weeks ago.

    No more interest after that.

So make of that, what you will.

Im claiming this as an exclusive by the way lol

Why do I get the feeling that AP is covering for some bad vibe between him and the office boys ?

he is committed to the Toon
he wants to build a team that plays his way
he wants ball players and decent cover
he only needs 2 players now to make the window a success
the office boys couldn’t organise a piss up in a brewery… let alone negotiate a signing

Pards has his pride too and has a self belief that he passes on to the players (even Obi tonight) … the biggest thing we might have to worry about is if he decides lack of support means he can’t deliver.

Pardews statement on TV about asking chairman for a player to cover the injured Raylor may of been a sign to us that he’s a bit pissed off with lack of signings.

    re-post:

I knew it would be anything but easy. We nearly shot ourselves on the foot a couple of times. They should have had a penalty and Krul sent off. Lady luck was with us tonight. Let this be a lesson to Pardew and the board. We can’t take our Europa League opponents lightly whoever they are. I understand the league is the priority but we should invest in these last hours on a player or two for depth. Due to Raylor’s injury Pardew hinted at making a move in the transfer market for cover- fingers crossed we go in with an improved bid for Debuchy and hopefully the rumours of him moving to Madrid are false.

Obertan stole the show with his tireless running u and down the right flank. He was a constant threat and he had his best game for us tonight. That would have done wonders to his confidence. ‘Fans’ should stop picking him out for abuse, remember Perch, look at him now.

Simpson showed how average he is and Gosling failed to impress again although he tried harder this time. Bigirimana again had a great game.

Ba did not have much service but again looked sharp.

Bring on the group stages whiiiyhiiiiiyyyyy!!

Oh and for all you Carroll ‘ Judas’ lovers, he’s gone out on a season long loan to West Ham- it’s official. Finally that’s the end of that!

This Cup is rubbish and an early exit is a blessing. it is not worth the effort. We will hopefully get an early exit from this stupid Duffers Cup as we are obviously not interested init and then we can focus on the league and a decent fFA Cup Run

Ppb: they did the same with Perch but he turned it around with good performances and is developing into one of our most consistent players. Obertan has had chance after chance at big big clubs but isn’t good enough I’m afraid. Not that he’s totally useless but he’s just not going to get any better.
