Comment #282For us it’s not the final day of the transfer window.
Today is officially “grasping for straws” day.

Comment #284Why do certain ppl on here have to call other pll wannabe or pseudo accountants?
Is it to put themselves in a better light?
Or is it because they think their opinions are miore valid?
Or is it because it is so easy to play monopoly with other plls money?

Comment #285So Fat Sam got his man, they’re gonna play some pretty football now 🙂
Kinda glad we didn’t get him back.
Doesn’t usually work out.
We could send the money on a quicker striker..

Comment #289I read on one of the social network sites yesterday something along these lines: NUFC’s purchasing policy is a reactive instead of a proactive one and it shows the inherent lack of ambition to move forwards when the opportunity arises.
This I’m afraid is it in a nutshell..and it’s not just the Bills-son’s of this world who are complicit in it…but I’m afraid nearly all the fans who are willing to wait every transfer window ’til Hell freezes over, for the shysters in charge to show a commitment to striving to compete at the top.
You can have as many pseudo accountants as you like making apologia for the running of the club but the bottom line is, we have accepted the total surrender of our dignity, history and heritage for what? – Mediocrity.
After an average performance lastnight – Pardew’s carefully chosen words and demeanor betrayed a man who feels he’s been let down by his employers and who knows,if things don’t turn out well, will be left out on a limb.
Get your season tickets now?? I’m out, I’m afraid. Good luck for the season ahead.

Comment #290Personally i reckon a recognised CB is more important than Full Backs….
Simpson and Saylor can cover RB
Santon and Anita can cover LB
Perch will play anywhere.
We can’t rely solely on Colo and Saylor as our only recognised CB’s backed up by Williamson and Good.
Saylor will be injured for sure at some point… while Colo will be playing even more games now he’s back in the Argie squad.

Comment #291Now this is a bit of a waste. If they field their under 15 so should we. I’d take this cup if they gave it to me, that’s it though. Now Europa is a high profile event in which many top teams participate and which gets international players noticing our club. AP, do concentrate on that one! We’ve been dreaming of Europe and now we have it, let’s go for it! Amsterdam ArenA here we come

Comment #292Shot Bro : I think we need both or a player covering both position.
Good is only reserve player, not a cover. Simpson will run out of contract, he should have been sold bye now, and if not now, will loose him next year. At least we get one year to cover this position. But still our weakest link are the fullbacks and mainly Simpson. Not bad but not the same quality as Tiote or Cisse. Normally Simpson wod be the cover , not the starting player.

Comment #295Really enjoyed the game last night, shows are strength and depth, no cabaye, titote, cisse, santon, Taylor, Ben Arfa, amiobi bros weren’t fit, and we still did ok, positives were defertly obertan the guy had a good game, really positive and aggressive I think he will start Sunday after that. Hopping for some big teams in the draw, bring on deadline day

Comment #296Szarka….agreed, but as we stand with the window about to shut we have 3 recognised CB’s….Williamson is sh*te Saylor is a fair player when partnering the excellent Colo….and like you say Good is one for the future…maybe.
If we end up with Perch and Williamson as a CB partnership for any length of time this season…it won’t matter how good our FB’s are…we will struggle for form.

Comment #297I’m warning you all, since we NEED a cover fb now, we will either get a complete pile of cack, or we will get a half decent player, but for a stupidly high fee. And some people wanted us to play a full team, so that injuries would force ashley to buy. Silly, silly people.

Comment #299I’ve heard and read that much about Debuchy over the last few months I feel as he is my brother and if I ever met him I could have a conversation with him in French.

Comment #300We aren’t going to lose anybody, but I don’t think we’re going to sign anyone either. No point revisiting Pieters or Debuchy – they’re both injured, Pieters long-term! I’ll give you one possibility, that I know was being discussed last night – Danny Rose of Spurs, possibly on loan. Just passing on a whisper!

Comment #301NUFC FOR SALE- @136 . Aside from your Debuchy comment- because I was well aware of his qualities before the Euro’s and not from playing football manager- Your spot on. The Daily Telegraph( they did the exposé of MP expenses) did an exposé on the financial health health of the Premier League, described widely as the financial health laid bare. It looked closely at a clubs latest published detailed income statement and concluded that our turn around since relegation was a minor miracle. Additionally a £10.4 million overdraft had been paid off. Only Man U and Arsenal had better operating cash flow. As
fans on here we have a surfeit of negativity and ignorance. Don’t let the facts get in the way of a good condemnation of Ashley. You don’t
have to like him or the way he operates but you should acknowledge
that he’s saved us from being a basket club.

What’s he going to bring to the party?
Would be pretty unimpressed with that to be honest.
And I thought we didn’t do loan players any more.
Are we really getting that desperate?
