Will Newcastle Now Go Back In For Mathieu Debuchy?

With Ryan Taylor sustaining what may be a long term injury last night, Newcastle may go back in at the last moment for long term target,  Lille’s Mathieu Debuchy.

Mathieu Debuchy – will Newcastle try one more time for him?

With the news that Real Madrid had moved in for him over the last few days, and that they had even agreed a fee with Lille for him,  and we thought he would become  a Real Madrid player today.

But today Lille have dismissed reports that Real Madrid have made any offer for the French defender.

Lille’s President, Michel Seydoux, who seems to bein charge of all the transfers at the club,  had this to say when asked about an approach by Real Madrid:

“We have not been approached. Anyway, Mathieu really wants to play Champions League with us.”

Lille have been drawn in Group F of the Champions League, along with Bayern Munich, Vallencia and BATE Borisov, and if the news it true that Mathieu really wants to play Champions League, that may be it for Newcastle.

But Newcastle were very close to agreeing a fee with the club for the French right-back, and it’s not beyond the realm of possibility that they could go back in today and try to bring him to Newcastle, but we’d have to be quick about it.

What do you think?.

I still don’t know where you got the story about him going to Real Madrid. No mention of it here in Spain.

Really wish people would stop having a go at our players like, especially when they were the best players on the pitch by far ie. obertan marvueax etc.

And whoever was criticising people for wearing their “toontinted” glasses, wtf? You’s are supposed to be Newcastle fans, those toontinted glasses should be permanently attatched to your faces!! Just because a person sees positives does not make him wrong, it’s not his fault all you neggers live in a bottomless dark wet cave where Newcastle get beat all the time, seriously grow up and start supporting the club and the players or f@&£ off!

We have absolutely snookered ourselves by being to tight fisted this window…..now clubs no we need someone and its so late in the day they can be even more awkward!

This Debuchy plus a couple other transfers should of been done and dusted weeks ago.

The injury to Ryan Taylor last night and the fact that the Manager seems to be panicing about replacing a ‘utility’ player. Surely but surely little alarm bells are starting to ring in the most ardent fans heads.

Imagine if that was Ba or Cisse? Oh dear, we would then have 1 fit Established striker!!!

    1) He’s injured. 2) when he’s fit, he’s already in the CL. No point really trying for him.
    Pieters is injured long term.
M’biwa (or whatever) qpr will pay 1 zillion for him and give him 750000 in blood diamonds per week wages.

Does anyone know the status of the 2 injuries?

Its not a great place to be because of course now everyone knows we need to buy.

What about a loan move for Micah Richards? With Maicon coming in he could be available. Excellrnt RB and a very good CB.

I also think WH was the best move for Big Andy – they’ll shape the team around him – hes got his mate there. Just have to keep him out of the nightclubs.

i am very concerned that we have to go running to the transfer market as soon as 1 of our players is injured!! what would happen if one of our forwards gets injured………….his replacement would be? we have to do some business on the last day.
    1 x forward
    1 x defender
    at the very least!!!

People who have a go at players ARE NOT true NUFC Fans.
I say this often on here, slating players especially at the game, is a senseless moronic action, fit for those whose intellect is akin to that of a pissed ameoba!

I find telling them they talk sh!te to their faces at the match usually buttons them up, however…i am an 18stone bodybuilder…may have a bit to do with me gaetting away with it 😛

Please please please have a try for the lad.
    CB Cover and both Fullbacks!
You could play him from the off.
I am a Simpson fan, but I would play Richards in his place until he signs his contract!

I too am gutted we didn’t go in for Berbatov. Reportedly on 30k a week wages, 5 mill transfer, never relied on pace so could get 3 good years out of him. Also a big Shearer fan so would have wanted to emulate him.
Would have been a fantastic option up front, better than both ba and Cisse in my opinion.

I am not someone ITK but i do have a guy who works for my company who has very close ties to the old regime at Newcastle and still hears alot of what goes on int he club. News this morning is that it isn’t looking good on the signing front at all. It’s not the fact clubs wont deal with us so late its the fact that we have to identify the player that suits us last minute and deal him up after selecting. They are not talking about a centre back they want a wing back with Pards still hoping to tie a striker to the club. The ‘player’ he wanted this week was a striker and now wants two players after last night with the club struggling to select who to go for on any front. Apparently DL is keen on a wing back and not a CF. Nor promising but as the media has reported our players are pretty safe and we are not expecting any late bids to come in. If i hear anything else i shall post it.

I really cannot see us bringing in anybody at this late stage especially as DL & LC are supposedly at the UEFA cup draw. I must admit I am very disappointed with the incoming transfers in this window.

But calling a player on here is just about opinions, and we all have them.

    M. Richards would be brilliant on loan, I think he’d say yes aswell if gave him some guarantees, by far a better player than Simpson. He’d push him out of the team within seconds of arriving.

U actually went there. U said your a bodybuilder.
U may well be, but such statments makes u look like a 14 year keyboard warrior with such a threatning behaviour.

Oddly, i do agree tho, booing your own players has no place in the game.
Argumentative critisizm is good imo, but bashing isn’t. Sadly many are too low on intellect to see the difference.

All seems a bit late in the day, unless Ashley really is a genius at this brinkmanship stuff. It seems more likely that by rigidly sticking to the model of only buying cheap they have almost certainly guaranteed we will struggle to match last seasons achievements. Hard to fathom and very disappointing although somewhat pathetically I continue to cling to the hope of a last minute coup in the market. Torture!

Martoon, I’m not overly disapointed with the window. 4 players isn’t bad. You’re right though, I can’t see us getting a player with those two away.
